The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. This site features two seasonal streams that cross on the property, as well as bushes full of ripe blackberries - if you catch them at the right time, help yourself. You'll enjoy hearing the birds echoing through the trees and could easily see deer tip toeing through the woods. Dogs on leash only. We raise 4H and FFA show and market goats, llamas, and a donkey and a cow, all of whom are very friendly! You'll also see our chickens, ducks, peacocks, and guinea hens. Rock pilings are on the island between the two seasonal streams that cross our land. Gold panning, hiking and creek walking is available on the property. Campers are welcome to stargaze in the field, create scavenger hunts for the kids, or simply sit back and enjoy the tranquility. The streams dry up in late June and fill up in November when the rains start. Trank Family Farm is 30 minutes from Lake Oroville, 20 minutes from Oroville Wildlife Area and the Feather River - great for kayaking, swimming, and fishing! Be sure to check out the trails and seasonal waterfalls at Table Mountain, 35 minutes away. There is no indoor shower, but we do have a rustic outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Tent space We have a small orchard in front of the Nopal Studio. There is room for two tent sites. No camp fires are allowed in the orchard. If it is winter time, we do have a fire ring in the fig tree picnic area, as well as a propane BBQ. The bathroom is shared with the cabins. We have farm animals and dogs which can be loud. The dogs chase squirrels and bark maniacally, and the ducks quack at sunrise, like, lots! There are also spiders, wasps, bees, rattlesnakes etc!! Please be aware, this is the country!

Stax & Summer’s Off-Grid Haven 14 acres of raw land up in the foothills near Brownsville/Oregon House — solar well, oak and manzanita trees, a bunch of mellow animals, I’ve lived here over a decade, mostly off-grid, and the land's still unfolding. There’s a couple donkeys, some goats, a small flock of chickens and quail, two super chill dogs (Stax and Summer Grass), and a cat Mike. All friendly, all part of the rhythm. If you're cool with animals, you’ll love it. If you’re not, maybe skip it. You can park your trailer, post up in your rig, or camp under the trees. Bring what you need, and make yourself at home. There’s space to be left alone, make some art, dig in the dirt, fix a few things, or just sit in it. If you’re solid and grounded, we can talk trade — especially if I’m off the property and need eyes on the crew. Could turn into something longer. Could just be a stop on your way. Water’s good. Solar runs the well. No power plugs unless you’ve got your own. Cell service is spotty unless you know where to stand. No tweakers. No drama — and not the fake kind.

This place may not be for everyone, but for two dual sport motorcycle campers shut out of “normal” campgrounds due to the government shutdown, it was perfect. Kind of a steampunk vibe with lots of concrete and steel, with a view of the Stony Gorge Reservoir spillway. It is central to some fantastic motorcycle riding.

Huge area to choose a spot to camp. Plenty of trees for hammock camping and lots of flat area for tents. Common area was super cool with a HOT outdoor shower. Shower does have walls that cover your torso and stuff, but it's not completely enclosed. Shared kitchen facilities, fridge, freezer, etc. all pretty top notch for a hipcamp spot. Two flush toilets in a shed structure with a lockable door. Would love a sink in there :) Super, super friendly and hospitable hosts.

This was the perfect place to take a day or two and just relax. The tiny house had just enough kitchen that for a short stay you didn’t need to go out unless you wanted to. It was impressively efficient. I did bring a cooler because I like cold beverages, but the small fridge would be enough for the yogurts and cheese I brought with for my 2 night stay. I had a nice time playing with the kittens, Caspian the dog, (who dutifully slept on my porch) and exploring the property. The bed downstairs was very comfortable and it was nice falling asleep to the sounds of nature outside. 10/10 recommend!

We enjoyed our time at the camp. Robert was really awesome with showing us to the camp site and making sure we had everything we needed. The animals were so sweet. Be careful driving on the gravel roads if you have a low vehicle. The speed limit is 15, but in our Prius we went probably 5 mph.

We stayed at the Tiny House on our way home from a trip to the Portola area and the Feather River Canyon. The Tiny House, though tiny, has every thing you might need. Couch, desk, sink, stove, frig, bathroom, shower, heater/air conditioner and spacious loft bed. Everything functional and clean. Outdoor table and chairs outside with beautiful patio tree lighting available at night. We found a friendly dog under the front stairs in the morning and a wide variety of chickens to gaze at on the property. All good here.

I would not recommend booking with this particular place. Unfortunately, in an honest mistake I booked the day for a day earlier than the actual booking. When I reached out to the host to get support, not only was he rude and uncaring, he would not offer any kind of partial refund or credit for the appropriate day that we were actually supposed to have booked it.. I requested a booking change and partial refund. Then, when I rebooked it for a second time, And requested a refund for the original night he refused because he states that he had to pay for cleaning. Well that’s impossible because we were never there. Then he offered to give us three bottles of wine in exchange, not only do we not drink, but that is an insult to us. When I expressed my frustration kindly, and asked for some movement or help, he stated he would not and that he helped I understood. So then I said OK then just cancel the booking for tonight as well because we don’t want to stay somewhere where we are treated like this. He said we are welcome to cancel it, but he does not accept any refunds. Mind you it had been only about a 20 minute conversation, so now he has taken our money for two nights with absolutely no services given and no kindness in return. Listen, I understand that he could’ve had a booking for the original night and that he may have lost out on some money. But that is probably unlikely given that I booked it last minute. What I am looking for is just some compromise. None. Swindler!!

Really neat little ranch property with 3 cozy abodes to rent. The tiny cabin we stayed in was very clean and thoughtfully designed to maximize the space. It was very hot the weekend we visited so thankful for the AC unit which got our house down to comfortable within seconds! Our kids loved the chickens, sheep, and llama!. Downtown Chico is only 15-20 mins away and Oroville only 20-30, lots of options! Highly recommend!

I originally booked the airstream for a little getaway with my husband and our daughter, but he unfortunately became a bit ill and decided to stay home. At the last minute I decided to still go, taking our 17 month old daughter on our first Mother-Daughter glamping trip. It was the best decision ever! I asked If we could switch to the Tiny Home w/ a king bed and Carolyn and Julio happily obliged. The space was absolutely beautiful, immaculately clean and had everything we needed. They even welcomed us with farm fresh eggs and delicious homemade muffins! All of the cute and friendly animals on the property kept my daughter and I thoroughly entertained. We especially loved playing with all the kittens roaming around and we had a blast feeding the chickens. I loved chatting with Carolyn and Julio and getting to know them a bit. They are such kind and loving people who truly made my daughter and I feel right at home. I am already planning our next visit back!

As much as I’d love to keep this place to myself, I have to echo everyone’s enthusiasm and love for this site. My partner & I came for a Valentine’s getaway and we stayed in the smaller tiny home. We arrived later in the evening, but directions were easy to follow and the site was well lit with fairy lights which was such a nice touch. Upon arrival, we were greeted with fresh muffins, eggs from the farm, and a cute little sign. There’s a queen bed at the loft, a full kitchen, and a nice seating area equipped with a TV. It had everything we needed to cook our meals and enjoy mornings in. A personal bonus: everything was so incredibly clean & I can’t stress this enough! You can definitely tell a lot of care and thought was put into the home to make it as comfortable as possible. The larger property is beautiful to walk through & it’s what we ended up spending our days doing. There are 3 different sites to stay at on the property - each for different needs and with their own appeals. There are chickens, an alpaca, sheep, cats, and a dog on property & they’re all so friendly! Carolyn & Julio really made the trip for us - they’re such amazing & accommodating hosts. They gave us the space we needed, but were still easily accessible for any questions we had. This was my first time ever doing a stay outside of a major city, and this stay made me want to do this again & again. We’ll definitely make this an annual thing! :-)

My wife & I were looking for a quick weekend getaway to work on some financials & planning for the upcoming year. We wanted it to be quiet, close to Sacramento w/WiFi availability & this checked all our boxes! The drive there was easy & scenic. The owner’s directions were accurate & easy to read for when you arrive on the property. We stayed in the Acreage Tiny home & boy was it a good choice! It rained 24/7 w/high winds, but the tiny home was a dream to be in. The home is very well built, clean, insulated, kept us warm, cozy, & protected from wind the whole time. The bed was super comfortable, the heater worked like a charm, & the full bathroom had strong hot & cold water. We were able to cook all our meals using the electric hotplate & enjoy our coffee/tea by warming up the water w/the kettle provided. The owners left homemade muffins on our arrival. I had to stop myself from eating them all in one day! Absolutely delicious! Make sure to take them up on the carton of eggs that can be pre-ordered. Unfortunately, since it rained the whole time, we were unable to explore the property, but what we could see from our tiny home was beautiful! You can tell the owners take pride in their land. The landscaping was clean & immaculate! The cats plus one dog that roam the property are cute, friendly, & always a joy to run into. Technically this was a business trip for us, but it felt like a vacation & we will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Carolyn and Julio for your hospitality!
