Much of the ranch is open wilderness for you to explore, and it's not uncommon to see deer, frogs, turtles, quail, turkeys, or other countless species of birds. Wondernut Farm is an upstart, entirely off grid, working farm-stead being built from the ground up. We breed milking goats and sheep, heritage pigs, and are in the process of converting to a grade A dairy and creamery! Our location is stunning and historic, and the beauty of the wild, natural landscape is powerful, yet offers easy access to both Yosemite Valley and the San Francisco Bay area. The area features excellent road and mountain biking in the immediate vicinity, vast access to hiking and backpacking trails, a huge variety of rock climbing in the area, the best whitewater rafting in California on the Tuolumne River, with some tasty places to eat or drink coffee in the nearby town of Groveland, just 10 minutes away. Accommodations at the farm are certainly rustic, and private but not secluded, with occasionally heavily project-exploded shared kitchen and living space, showers, and airy flush toilets. Do be advised that animals are pooping, hammers are hammering, sometimes we need to look into a health or animal injury related issue. Sometimes there is blood in an animal birth or slaughter, and our working guardian dogs have been known to be noisy some nights. Water and electricity are both very limited (though we reuse all our water), waste must be carefully sorted into a number of different categories, and there is always evidence of ump-teen projects unfolding at once. The most difficult condition during much of the summer are nuisance flies, which are always gone at night. We have almost no mosquitoes or ticks. Depending on the exact situation and time of year, guests may have the opportunities to snuggle with baby animals and run our herd to or from pasture, and maybe even get their hands dirty picking veggies in the garden.

I began to share the experiences with my animals by offering a unique farm tour called coffee with Critters and I find that I really enjoy sharing this lifestyle with like minded folk. If you love animals and want to camp near them please join me. Learn more about this land: Your campsite will be nestled among animal enclosures, listen to the munching of hay or the snorting of the horse. Your stay will include a modified animal tour and you can engage with horse, goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks and more... dogs and cats of course ;). I have a couple of spots but I would be flexible regarding campsite. My toilet is a compost toilet.  The outside shower has been upgraded with privacy curtains etc following suggetions from previous campers ;) I have a million $$ view and a modest house. My house is about 45 minutes from the Yosemite park entrance and it's an easy commute back/forth. Flowering vines cover my outdoor porches where we have big dinners when Wwoofers or Couchsurfers are in residence. The property is home to many animals, horse, goats, pigs, chickens, peacocks, rabbits, guinea pigs - dogs & cats - of course! :-) . The roosters wake us up pretty early so fair warning about that - but I love living with them and it makes the property so much more friendly with all the critters. My house is pet friendly and yours are welcome if they are 1. Fixed, 2. Are social and friendly with my pets, 3. Will not chase the cats and chickens. I can babysit your pups if you go to the park - provided they are compliant with rules above. I work from home. There are loads of trails nearby and 2 pretty ponds and plenty of wildlife, deer, turkeys and more. The property is rolling hills however there are plenty of flat areas for tents. NO FIRES PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON MY PROPERTY APRIL-OCTOBER - non negotiable.

You will be camping and able to enjoy the private area outside the RV. Feel free to roam around the property and take in the scenery. Fire up the BBQ (Traeger & Blackstone Grill), play some cornhole, and enjoy the pool! The owner lives in the main house and is available 24/7 to make your stay awesome. The RV has all the amenities you will need and is located near Yosemite, Kings, and Sequoia National Parks. Take in the views of the Sierra Mountain Range on the horizon above our pasture. The RV has a full sized pull out sofa bed, a dinette that converts into a full sized bed, and a separate bedroom with a queen size memory foam mattress. A TV and free Wifi are included. Guest access: Guests have access to the area all around the RV and the backyard of the home. They also have access to the swimming pool and cabana near the pool. (No one under 18 without adult present)(Swim at your own risk, there is no lifeguard!) Other things to note: This would be a great spot for traveling nurses or tourists to stay and see the national parks. The is no traffic or crime out here here in the country. Accommodations at the farm are certainly rustic, and private but not secluded, with occasionally heavily project-exploded shared kitchen and living space, showers, and airy flush toilets. Do be advised that animals are pooping, hammers are hammering, sometimes we need to look into a health or animal injury related issue. Sometimes there is blood in an animal birth or slaughter, and our working guardian dogs have been known to be noisy some nights. Water and electricity are both very limited (though we reuse all our water), waste must be carefully sorted into a number of different categories, and there is always evidence of ump-teen projects unfolding at once. The most difficult condition during much of the summer are nuisance flies, which are always gone at night. We have almost no mosquitoes or ticks. Depending on the exact situation and time of year, guests may have the opportunities to snuggle with baby animals and run our herd to or from pasture, and maybe even get their hands dirty picking veggies in the garden.

Learn more about this land: Your campsite will be nestled among animal enclosures, listen to the munching of hay or the snorting of the horse. Your stay will include a modified animal tour and you can engage with horse, goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks and more... dogs and cats of course ;). I have a couple of spots but I would be flexible regarding campsite. My toilet is a compost toilet.  The outside shower has been upgraded with privacy curtains etc following suggetions from previous campers ;) I have a million $$ view and a modest house. My house is about 45 minutes from the Yosemite park entrance and it's an easy commute back/forth. Flowering vines cover my outdoor porches where we have big dinners when Wwoofers or Couchsurfers are in residence. The property is home to many animals, horse, goats, pigs, chickens, peacocks, rabbits, guinea pigs - dogs & cats - of course! :-) . The roosters wake us up pretty early so fair warning about that - but I love living with them and it makes the property so much more friendly with all the critters. My toilet is a compost toilet.  The outside shower has been upgraded with privacy curtains etc following suggetions from previous campers ;) I have a million $$ view and a modest house. My house is about 45 minutes from the Yosemite park entrance and it's an easy commute back/forth. Flowering vines cover my outdoor porches where we have big dinners when Wwoofers or Couchsurfers are in residence. The property is home to many animals, horse, goats, pigs, chickens, peacocks, rabbits, guinea pigs - dogs & cats - of course! :-) . The roosters wake us up pretty early so fair warning about that - but I love living with them and it makes the property so much more friendly with all the critters. Weekend Trip to Nolla A-Frames Near Yosemite
I was looking for a last minute escape to the mountains to clear my head but didn’t want to deal with a) my own tent or gear, b) a big campground with tons of other people, c) pretentious “glamping” tents, or d) a soulless “cabin” for family reunions. Bonus points for cool design. Liza and Tom’s site was perfect! Tucked up in the woods so it feels remote but easily accessible from the road and just a few minutes drive to cell service and food options. I was in cabin 2 next to a friendly couple in cabin 3, but when I was inside it felt like I was all alone. The A-frame itself is a cool minimalist Scandinavian design, with comfy beds and an incredible floor to ceiling window to watch the sunset and pick out constellations after dark. Outhouse/toilet was comfy, clean and didn’t smell at all. Showers were modern and clean with fresh towels (they’re across the main road so best to drive). I can’t wait to come back for a longer stay!

What a lovely, quiet, serene piece of the world! You feel the nature around you. I recommend taking a walk down to the creek. Britany was very kind and welcoming, the camper is simple and clean (just what I was going for). Plenty of firewood and friendly animals to greet you. And the stars (lucky it was clear) were absolutely incredible. Highly recommended!

We decided last minute on a stay near Yosemite and this place was conveniently near the highway leading to the West entrance but still private and secluded. The views at night with the stars were beautiful!!! We did stay after a snowstorm so it was cold but bundled up with our own extra blankets and sleeping bags and were cozy! Really cozy and very nice to have extra blankets and the charger.

The A-frame cabin was a beautiful, scenic stay within convenient distance from Yosemite. I found it easy to check in, and the hosts provide useful guidance for finding the cabin. Cell service is spotty, so be sure to plan ahead. I found it easy to find, but be aware that you'll want to plan ahead. The view out the cabin window was stunning, and I found all accommodations - bed, desk, lamp, battery, and shower - very comfortable. I will always remember the stars and moonlight.

As a solo traveler (with canine companion) I appreciate good communication with hosts and feeling safe within my camping surroundings. Tom and Liza are thoughtful hosts and Cabin One is charming. It is easily accessible via dirt road with a near-by porta-potty. If you want to feel more remote during your camping experience inquire about cabins two & three (as well as accessibility.) A Yeti full of a generous amount of clean, potable water is provided. I camp with extra warm Rumple-style blankets and hand-heater packets because I get cold easily. I was cozy overnight during my early November stay and enjoyed breakfast in the morning sun at the adjacent picnic table. The photos in the multiple reviews all accurately depict the set-up at the Cabin One sight. Trust the pin & directions to your campsites provided :) I’m looking forward to camping during late-spring/early summer and trying Campsites Two/Three!

I loved this campground! I will definitely seek it out again next time I need a getaway. I originally booked site 1, but when Lily offered to let me choose another site when I arrived, I chose site 7. It was the perfect vibe for my trip - shaded and secluded, tucked into a nook and right up against the creek in a way that felt very accessible. Lily was super attentive and communicated promptly, she’s great! I felt safe as a solo camper just looking for a place to be close to nature and content to Be in the quiet. Leo the groundskeeper was friendly and thoughtfully checked in with me to make sure I had all I needed, without it feeling intrusive and immediately leaving me with the feeling of being safe.

Our spacious lofted Yosemite cabin has high 18ft ceilings which gives the sense of abundance and space. Relax and unwind on our large outdoor deck with cool valley breezes. Chill time to let go and recharge. We renovated our cabin fully in the summer of 2024, knocking out lots of closed in walls and gutting the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms completely changing a dated 80’s style cabin into a modern contemporary home. The renovation took us 6 months in total to complete, from the time we knocked out our first wall til the last appliance was installed. This is our family’s cabin we love to spend quality time together exploring outside, catching bugs, cooking s’mores on our large deck and stargazing at night! We love to share it with other families.
