Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Nopalito Farm has been in operation since late 2014, but the property itself has been a working farm for over 50 years. Lemons and avocados were the primary crops from the 70’s through the 00’s, and are still prominent throughout our 15 acres. Our predecessors then diversified the growing operation by planting a wide range of fruit trees ranging from guavas and passion fruit to peaches and figs. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all ~ 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, UBER is only too happy to come here and pick you up! Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. There's plenty of great space to ride your bikes, and it's proven to be a hit with the kiddos! The Airstream is new to the ranch and is a work in progress, but you'll love the charm of hanging out in a very cool vintage trailer. We'll soon be adding some layers of paint, shine, and lots of love, so make sure to follow our progress in fixing the ole girl up! Our location is also unique because we are fully fenced in and have a separate turn out space for your horses (check add-ons for camping with your horse). We also have a small 1954 Camper ("Lucy") that can act as a second bedroom for more sleeping space (check for add-on). **WHEELCHAIR ACCESS: We can provide a ramp for the Airstream for accessibility, though please be aware the camper is small, likely not wide enough for a standard wheelchair, and the bathroom is also small and doesn't meet ADA standards. He will provide instructions. TASTINGS: Macala Orchards Olive Oil, Various Jellies and Jams Pomegranate Juice all made from what we grow are available for tasting upon request. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Currently, we're home to 2 chihuahuas, 2 Australian Cattle Dogs (Lily, Alberto, Julio - aka Formerly known as The Three Chimigos and Oakley & Eddie the blue heelers), 4 pot belly pigs (Michael, Falkor, Meg, & Ayla - aka The Three Little Pigs +1), a mini horse (Phinneas), a mini donkey (Donkey), and a Buckskin Quarter Horse (Tivio), two lambs (Dolly & Reba), and 4 alpacas (Fern, Woodrow, Gandalf, & Gus). We have a lot of flat, usable space, but we also have some impressive boulders, hidden nooks and crannies to explore, and beautiful, mature trees. It's our little slice of heaven! There's plenty of great space to ride your bikes, and it's proven to be a hit with the kiddos! The Airstream is new to the ranch and is a work in progress, but you'll love the charm of hanging out in a very cool vintage trailer. We'll soon be adding some layers of paint, shine, and lots of love, so make sure to follow our progress in fixing the ole girl up! Our location is also unique because we are fully fenced in and have a separate turn out space for your horses (check add-ons for camping with your horse). We also have a small 1954 Camper ("Lucy") that can act as a second bedroom for more sleeping space (check for add-on). **WHEELCHAIR ACCESS: We can provide a ramp for the Airstream for accessibility, though please be aware the camper is small, likely not wide enough for a standard wheelchair, and the bathroom is also small and doesn't meet ADA standards. The spot is right in front of a cow enclosure they are very friendly. There is a beautiful koi pond. My only grievence is that we didn't stay longer. 10/10 property.

Staying at coyote cabana on nopalito farm was such a great experience. Jacob was very friendly and keeps the land well maintained. The comfort of sleeping on mattresses with warm blankets made our get away so much more comfortable. If you are looking for a casual get away from home and want to enjoy nature, this is the place to stay. The host’s dog Gertie is very friendly and played all day with our dog Loba. Off leash friendly was what stood out to us when booking this location.

This place is so great. I want gatekeep but also tell everyone about it. This campsite in particular was very secluded, but still within walking distance of toilet. Granite Tabernacle had two campfires and the space it was in was so big there was so much room for activities. The animals walking around were so cute and the views were beautiful. The bathroom/showers were much cleaner than expected. The shower didn’t get warm but I got used to it eventually. The road leading up to each of the campsites did feel a little scary driving up, but I’m sure most cars can get there. Interacted with just a few people that worked there, but everyone was nice. The loop around the grounds was about 30 minutes walking and was nice to scope out potential next stays, which I definitely will be doing next year!

What a slice of paradise Bernard and Hoa share with the campers. They are friendly, generous, and accommodating. Their property is just a few blocks away from the cute town of Ramona, CA! Marinade on Main is a favorite restaurant nearby. Their property is secluded, secure, and peaceful behind a coded gate. There are three camping sites that are quite large, and several tent sites. The grounds are well maintained. We enjoyed the proximity to downtown San Diego, La Mesa, Santee, and our son’s home nearby. We were able to stay at Thompson’s Palm Farm quite a few days as there is water, electric, and septic. We will return again and again!

Stayed one night in Roadrunner with my dog Poppy. The farm is really beautiful and well-kept. We had a cozy night of sleep and we loved hanging out with Gertie the farm dog. I live 40 mins away but this was the perfect getaway from the city. Lots of bird spotting and a beautiful sunset. The kitchen has everything you need. Will definitely return!

Magical! Great response from host when I had questions before & after booking about what to bring. The VW bus was nice and warm at the end of November. Absolutely adored the goats: super sweet. I loved seeing ALL the animals there. There was not one thing I didn’t love about this campsite: private, lovely views, bathroom within close walking distance, literally all the things. 5/5 stars, 100% would do again.

We are the second owners of the property and want to be as self sustaining as possible. We are on a well and have converted to solar power. We will be building up the camp sites as well, gradually adding more amenities as we go to create a unique experience for our guests.More about me:I had a great and successful career at a very large CPA firm in San Diego but with city living comes pressure and stress. Due to deadlines and even more stress created by the partners of the firm, I ignored what my body was telling me. I put off going to the doctor for months telling myself I didn't have time and, after this next deadline I'll get a check up.I knew that I needed to change my lifestyle but I wasn't doing it fast enough. We closed escrow on the property in October of 2016 and that November I was in the ER. I almost died. Spent my birthday and Thanksgiving in the hospital.Soon after that I quit my job at the CPA firm and started working from home. Still suffering from complications, that summer in June/July I ended up in the ER again. Even closer to death this time. Since then I've turned around my health. Focused on life on the farm. Raising my animals, my garden and creating a unique experience with the campers. I enjoy sharing this life and my home with like-minded people who want to escape the city and feel a little closer to nature.
