The Sierra Sol Camp project has been hosting community events and friend gathering for years. We take great pride in extending a warm and welcoming space for all our visitors and extending the invitation to campers was a great next step.
We have listings ranging from yurts to shipping containers, an old water tower converted to a vintage trailer and canvas tents.
We are based in between the middle fork of the Yuba river right where it meets up with Oregon Creek. If you like a long walk it is 2.5 miles down the dirt road to Oregon Creek and the middle fork of the Yuba. Driving takes 5 to 10 mins. The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake.
On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink.
Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

This 30 ft diameter Pacific yurt sits on 5 private acres with an occupied family home and granny unit nearby. Strategic design and landscape provide privacy for all. Large pine, cedars and oaks surround the living areas and we have done clearing for fire safety without compromising the environment. There is an airconditioned bedroom inside, a sleeping loft with queen bed, a bath house with shower, connected by a deck in back and a small front covered patio. Access to the vegetable garden is included. We are happy to share summer vegetables. There are great night time sky views and sunsets as well. A new addition is a swamp cooler in the main room. The Butterfly Yurt is the perfect glamping spot! It's private, comfortable, and has just enough amenities to make the stay easy yet with the camping feel. Lori and Lucky were great hosts -- nearby if needed but out of sight and earshot. The location is great for access to Quincy, the Feather River canyon, the Lakes region (the hike to the Sierra Buttes lookout is epic!), swimming, hot springs, etc. Or just laze on the yurt's deck with a cup of coffee and read. We hope to go back again soon.

This was our first time camping in a yurt- or any premade structure for that matter! I couldn’t complain about a single thing, there was so much more provided in the yurt than we could have imagined. There is basically a full kitchen set up witch dishes and utensils, extra blankets, fire wood for the fire place, A SHOWER, toilet paper, lighters, even cooking oil! It was such a relaxing get away for my family and I. We had such a blast exploring the property, going to the swimming hole basically 3 minutes away, and just enjoying each others company. Although the structure itself is rather close to the home, it still feels so secluded and like you’re right in the middle of nowhere. If you’re thinking about pulling the trigger on something nice for camping, don’t bother looking anywhere else!

Weekend Trip to Sierra Sol Camp
The Sierra Sol Camp is well located, close to the rivers and the Bullards Reservoir. The cabin room was clean and well maintained, and I especially enjoyed the outdoor shower. The kitchen is small but equipped with everything you need to prepare a nice meal. However, if the camp has medium to high occupancy, using it will require quite a bit of coordination.
Signage around the property could be improved, as labeling for the different locations is not very clear. The arrival instructions also need updating: they currently say to park and go to the kitchen for instructions, but it isn’t obvious where to find them, and no staff were visible anywhere on the property. You’re left to figure things out on your own.

This is a wonderful location! The land is peaceful and secluded. Great for a dog walk through the forest. I really appreciated the wood stove for the cold mornings and a nice hot shower. Highly recommended.

The butterfly valley yurt was great! We went the end of May and it was arm enough during the day to go swim in the swimming hole but cold enough at night to cuddle up! Lori had a fan, oven, some plates and utensils, and tons of blankets. Bed was comfortable enough. Outhouse didn’t stink and easy to use. Shower nozzle not too strong, but there was a shower and warm water!
Lori was very thoughtful in making sure there was potable water at the yurt for use. We came very prepared so didn’t really need much. There’s electric and a deck w a table and chairs to relax on. There’s a trash bin to leave ur trash.
The property is beautiful. There are neighbors around but not close enough to matter. This was the first adventure trip of our “new” dog. We weren’t sure how he would be, but he did great w the seclusion of the property. We will def be back!

4 nights at Butterfly Valley Yurt
The yurt was clean and spacious. It got fairly close to freezing one night and yet we didn't feel the need to fire up the wood stove. The kitchen has the basics, but foodies will want to bring their favorite cooking gear if they plan to throw down in the kitchen. It's a reasonably short walk to the river, which looked pretty ideal for swimming. The carnivorous plants in the nearby botanical garden are worth a visit. Both the hosts were really nice, as were their two dogs.
We'll definitely go back.

The property is comfortable and the owners took care to make sure we had everything we needed.
The bed is comfortable and plenty of warm blankets.
Being novice wood stove operators, it was a challenge to keep the fire going. No one’s fault.
Plenty of towels for the shower. Shower was comfortably warm.
The stove and oven worked well.
The most perfect part was the quiet beautiful woodland and wonderful walking paths. The dogs had a blast and so did we!

Weekend Trip to Butterfly Valley Yurt
Great weekend trip with the girlfriend! It was chilly outside but with the wood stove it was very comfortable in the yurt. I really appreciated the instructions for how to properly use the stove, as someone who isn't super outdoorsy it felt beginner friendly. The appliances worked great as well!

Weekend Trip to Mirabella
The yurt is in very well kept condition and can be very warm in there with the fireplace warming up the whole house. We personally loved spending time by it and preferred sleeping in the loft that gave us a nice morning sky view through the ceiling window. The yurt is also close to Nevada city, grass valley, south yuba park.
Judith is also very accommodating and very friendly. We would love to stay here again and would like try it in the spring or fall season.
