We have lived on the farm now for over 21 years. The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. Hickman Family Vineyards – A Wine Country Escape in the Sierra Foothills Our love affair with wine began in the late ’90s, surrounded by the vineyards of Sonoma County. The tasting rooms, the people, the passion—it was contagious. Alyse found herself working for a boutique winery owned by Korbel, gaining an inside look at the magic behind the bottle. Inspired, we began dreaming of our own place—a vineyard built from the ground up with family, heart, and hard work. In 2002, we found that perfect piece of land. Set at 800 feet elevation with rolling hills, majestic oaks, and wide open skies, we planted our first acre of Zinfandel in 2005 and officially opened Hickman Family Vineyards to the public on Mother’s Day 2011. Since then, our family—kids included—has been hands-on with every aspect of the vineyard, winery, and tasting room. Now, we’re excited to share that experience with you. Our campsite offers a peaceful retreat in the Sierra Foothills, just a short drive from three nearby lakes and under star-filled skies free of city lights. Come relax, sip wine, and soak up the quiet beauty of our land. Whether you're here for the wine, the view, or the warm family welcome—you’ll find all three waiting for you.
