In a nutshell, since our ranch is on the footprint of the historic town of Whiskey Flat, we just happen to be south of the old Whiskey Flat "Boot Hill" Cemetery. Our "driveway" is the road that led from the old town of Kernville to the cemetery. We hope that you consider parking your RV, van conversion, or trailer on one of our customized spots on the property. Or drive your vehicle and pitch a tent on one of our tent friendly sports. Or enjoy a stay in one of our small cabins. Regardless of what you stay in, you will definitely have a memorable time. The campground is VERY barebones and rural. Critters, bugs, and sometimes fellow Hipcampers can be sparce or prevalent pretty randomly. Because Underworld Farms is a working ranch, you will probably hear livestock noises like horses neighing, sheep and goats calling, and our protector dogs barking from time to time. We encourage you to walk over to the horses and goats and meet them. They especially like when you bring them carrots or apple pieces. The ranch has a double outhouse with a hand washing station sandwiched in between, it is rustic and bare bones. We check it to see if it has paper products, soap, water, and plenty of room in the trash bins. During the hotter months, the "daddy longleg" spiders enjoy infiltrating the outhouses and seem to spin new webs overnight. But they and their webs are harmless and easy to brush off. We ask for your assistance if there is something missing, or the trash needs taking out, or if the spiders have taken over again by getting ahold of us through the Hipcamp App and letting us know. With all that being said, there is an ambient beauty here that is unbelievable and memorable. This beauty and draw is so powerful that it causes the many people who come visit to make arrangements to live in our little valley. There is much to do in and around our valley that you couldn't do it all in a lifetime. We hope that you come and stay at the ranch while enjoying our valley. Then straight ahead you’ll see our master bedroom with a bathroom a walk-in closet, full bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub. Our home does have AC/Heating by mini split units that are all new & purchased & installed in June 2022 and are maintained monthly. We also have 2 twin folding beds that can be set up in either bedroom or the living room. Purchased August 2022 for additional sleeping. Ring cameras are located on the outside of the property. No cameras are inside. Enjoy a nice evening on the front patio enjoying nature. A propane barbeque is located on the front porch. Absolutely no smoking on the property. Wildfires are common in & around the area & Three Rivers is a very high-risk area. Three Rivers has faced evacuation warnings in both 2020 & 2021 due to local raging wildfires. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING/FIRES ON/NEAR THE PROPERTY. BE ADVISED - Sequoia National Park has received significantly more snow and rain than normal this year (2023), which has resulted in some damage to some roadways within the park. Guest access Parking on the premises is located 70 yards from the cabin. A wooden railing leads from the street down a path to the house. There are two access points into the cabin; one on level ground and the other via a wooden stairwell. During winter, with an elevation of about 6,000ft, tire-chains may be required, depending on the snow. Drive times to nearby points are as follows: Alta Sierra Ski Resort: 8 min Lake Isabella (fishing and watersports): 12 min Kernville (rafting, antique shops, bars, museum and super market): 20 min Market and gas stations: 15 min Kern Valley Hospital: 30 min Kern River Health Center: 10 min Other things to note: Alta Sierra is a fire hazard area so bonfires and open flames are not permitted. However, if you want to have a cookout, you'll have full use of the electric grill out on the open deck. In the evenings, or during cold days, you can enjoy the crackle of logs in the woodstove, and plenty of firewood is provided for your convenience. There are wild animals that visit the property surroundings. Enjoy them from a safe distance and be ready to take plenty of photos from a safe vantage point. Welcome to Deers Eye View! Enjoy a nice morning or evening on the front patio enjoying nature. Relax after a long day in our jacuzzi bathtub. Our home is 1622 sq ft with plenty of space to make yourself comfortable. As you walk into our home you will see our open living room and oversized couch. You’ll then immediately see our kitchen and dining room. Our kitchen table seats 4 and we have 2 barstools in the kitchen for the bar area. Down the hallway you’ll see our first bedroom with a Queen size bed, the laundry room, and a hallway bathroom. Then straight ahead you’ll see our master bedroom with a bathroom a walk-in closet, full bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub. Our home does have AC/Heating by mini split units that are all new & purchased & installed in June 2022 and are maintained monthly. We also have 2 twin folding beds that can be set up in either bedroom or the living room. Purchased August 2022 for additional sleeping. Ring cameras are located on the outside of the property. No cameras are inside. Enjoy a nice evening on the front patio enjoying nature. A propane barbeque is located on the front porch. Absolutely no smoking on the property. Wildfires are common in & around the area & Three Rivers is a very high-risk area. Three Rivers has faced evacuation warnings in both 2020 & 2021 due to local raging wildfires. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING/FIRES ON/NEAR THE PROPERTY. BE ADVISED - Sequoia National Park has received significantly more snow and rain than normal this year (2023), which has resulted in some damage to some roadways within the park. Kiley is super super quick to respond. The cabin was overall good but slightly more rustic than I had imagined. Our generator failed in the middle of the night in the second night which I think was just bad luck but meant we had no WiFi, which meant no signal at all in this area! There is cooling and a fan. It is right by Sequoia and King’s Canyon parks, but the drive from Three Rivers to the cabin ends up taking about 25 minutes extra. My one thing to improve- the towels were really nice but the bedsheets were polyester which I really hate, and made it super sweaty given the heat! View of the stars is amazing and super quiet up there, although the swamp cooler was pretty loud

The place has a unique charm, particularly the land surrounding the cottage, with the hot tub being an absolute winner. You feel disconnected from the world. Whether you’re alone, as a couple, or with children (as in our case), it’s very peaceful. We also loved the region for exploring the forest, going hiking, or kayaking on Lake Isabella. What could be improved concerns the cottage’s equipment, particularly in the kitchen. A number of basic items are missing, such as a colander, real cutting boards, scissors or more sharp knives. The pans are also quite old and stick very easily. Since there is no dishwasher, that made things a bit of a challenge, though in the end it wasn’t really a problem. It would also be nice to have a few basics on site, like cooking oil (as we found everywhere else), or one or two laundry pods just to help out at the start of the stay. Also, keep in mind that the Internet connection is slow, though that’s probably part of the charm as well. Finally, there weren’t any clear check-out instructions, so it was a little tricky to know exactly what to do, especially with the trash (is there no recycling?). In the end, we figured out that you apparently just leave everything as it is, including the bedding and such.

This is the perfect place to relax! Truly! Ozzy and Diane are wonderful hosts, they gave me such a warm welcome. There are so many thoughtful details both inside the house and outside, I was amazed and already looking at dates for my next booking. The bed was so comfortable, I honestly didn’t want to get out of it.

Ray‘s Cabin is very spacious and beautifully decorated. It was very cosey. The area around was quiet and relaxing. And it is still close to Sequoia National Park. We loved hiking around the Cabin and visiting the National Park. Ray was very helpful and answered every question promtly. He also put together a wonderful Book for guests with all the hiking trails in the area. We greatly enjoyed our stay and deffinitly recommend Peacful Pines Place!

We loved our two day stay in Kiley’s mini cabin. It had everything we needed while we were visiting Sequoia National Park. We used the kitchenette and the grill. Kiley was super responsive and answered all our questions. I will just say that the 25 minute road from Three Rivers to the cabin was daunting and very curvy and tight.

We loved how secluded we felt on this trip. The area was beautiful and our dogs were able to run around freely. We appreciated that we could leave our dogs in the cabin and explore the national park. We had some complications with power, but our host was so quick to respond and get it fixed. We had a lovely trip!
