That photo is without any of the existing amenities or improvements. The actual sites are all Larger than Federal Park and Statepark guidelines, with averages of 20'x30' for campsites and 20'x40' for a long RVCampsite.
We have planted many young trees and continue to plant trees and native shrubs around and near the sites. We have picnic tables, table coverings, fire pits, and camping rugs/footprints. There is also an outdoor shower, a shower tent with hot water, and an upgraded porta-potty with a sink.
Note: During times when high heat is predicted, we strongly recommend that our Hipcampers bring pop-up shade tents or canopies for their sites.
The Hipcamp is adjacent to our working ranch, and any photos of old sheds, trucks, a wood lot, or other equipment are NOT on the Hipcamp, but you will drive past that property to get to the separate Hipcamp area.
Wineries, Farmer's Markets, Craft Breweries, dispensaries, and more are within 10 to 15 minutes of our site. Our location allows moments when you may see Hawks, Owls, Geese, Swallows, Robins, Bluebirds, and more.
We offer both tent and RV camping.

There are 4 permanent residents on the land, including me, who live within several hundred feet are in and out of the ranch daily. Our driveway passes near your campsite. So while you have privacy in the trees, you may have smile-and-wave distance interaction with other humans during your stay. There are also neighbors to the East several hundred yards away as well.
A one-mile trail winds through the property that you are welcome to enjoy. Let me know if you are interested and I will show you were to find the trailhead. The path leads you to fascinating sites such as a tar caldera, Chumash cupules and mortars on boulders, and a tar marsh where wildlife thrives. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, botanist, birder, hiker, or simply seeking peace, this land offers something for you.
We welcome guests to stay for a maximum of three days, but we're open to accommodating longer stays upon request. Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with the beauty of the natural world. We look forward to hosting you!

This is an incredibly historic site in Santa Barbara history. 2 tribes of Chumash Indians lived here for 10,000 years. This is where Spain landed and began colonizing the area. In the 1950's and 60's, this was the site of the World's largest orchid farm. There is a book called The Royal Rancho, if you are a history buff.
We are a farm on the beach just North of Santa Barbara and Goleta, Ca. You will camp in a historic, glass greenhouse with incredible ocean views. Inside is a cob pizza oven that works awesome. You will have a private bath and shower (Primitive, no electricity, but the hot shower has the best view in the world of any shower!) Bring your own toiletries and whatnot.

Rustic is the theme here. There is no shower, no wifi, and no electricity available, but you will enjoy your own private spigot and the cellular service is acceptable.
For any sites located south of Ballinger Wash, your vehicle length is limited to 22' and no more than 4' overhang from the rear axle, so you don't get stuck in the crossing and block access for others. Towing services are 1-3 hours away.
Our Songdog Camps are sparsely scattered atop a 200 foot mesa that looks west over a valley offering stunning desert sunsets and amazing stargazing. These UPPER SITES are NOT OHV friendly, but any of our canyon bottom sites are a great base for your riding adventures up in Ballinger Canyon OHV. We'll be happy to recommend a site for you. **Forest Service law enforcement is actively ticketing unplated OHV on Ballinger Canyon Road. Be sure to know and abide by the laws.**
Our friendly cancellation policies vary between 24 hours for simple campsites and 72 hours for our Glamp sites and Group sites. Be sure to check the Google for distance to Cuyama Valley, and your dates for availability and site descriptions. This is an historic ranch with buildings dating from the 1880's to the mid 1930's and then some newer and spacious structures. See management for tours, history and accessibility to some structures and areas. This is a working ranch with a fascinating heritage going back three owners to an impressive land grant. There are 6 miles of trails and roads on the ranch shared by vehicles, hikers and equestrians. A map can be provided which will insure that neighboring properties are not trespassed on. All visitors to the ranch must have checked in with the office and management. There is an extra charge of $40.00 per person per day coming onto the ranch whether they are spending the night or just visiting. This charge is beyond and in addition to the charge made for the first four individuals on the reservation for each day. We find that many of our regular clients on the ranch are very friendly and helpful.

Come stay at our rustic campsite under some large oak trees next to a little open area by an ecological pond on our working ranch!
With 54 acres for our horses and avocados, we welcome guests to camp on a somewhat private part of the ranch (on occasion, equestrians may ride by). We can accommodate up to 8 more campers depending on the group type. We love welcoming families to the ranch, but like to approve larger groups ahead of time!
At the campsite you'll find picnic tables, a fire pit for small fires, and running water.
Minimal 110 Volt electrical outlet is at the campsite.
There is a fully functional unique bathroom made out of a converted horse trailer with a toilet and sink a few hundred yards from the site. Walking around the property, you'll see an activity barn and a historic 19th century cottage which houses a private library. Permission may be granted for entry to these structures if requested. There is an outdoor shower at the campsite with cold water only. Some firewood may be provided at no cost.
Campers, making reservations during cold winter months when the otherwise beautiful weather becomes cooler, should be aware that because of the proximity of a wind machine which makes a noise like a helicopter about 300 yards away from the campsite, on a neighboring property, may interrupt an otherwise peaceful and quiet experience.
The wind machine comes on automatically when the temperature drops to around 37 degrees so that avocados in the orchard do not suffer from a freezing temperature. Please note the trigger temperature for the machines is taken at individual low points on the adjacent property and may reflect as many as 6 degrees lower than what is found on forecast sites.
This machine probably might turn on maybe 7 nights in a year and only during the cold winter months.
Headlamps are a great idea, otherwise, flashlights for sure.

The library and restroom are a little ways away from the campsite
have lighting but it is very dark between the campsite and those facilities.
We are located only two miles to the ocean beaches and about a mile to a major shopping center. UCSB is just minutes away. Bicycling is very easy as all roads and access are flat.
Please return all furniture to the place(s) from which it was moved and thank you for putting out your fire(s) and carrying out your trash to the dumpster when leaving the campsite.

Note: During times when high heat is predicted, we strongly recommend that our Hipcampers bring pop-up shade tents or canopies for their sites.
The Hipcamp is adjacent to our working ranch, and any photos of old sheds, trucks, a wood lot, or other equipment are NOT on the Hipcamp, but you will drive past that property to get to the separate Hipcamp area.
Wineries, Farmer's Markets, Craft Breweries, dispensaries, and more are within 10 to 15 minutes of our site. Our location allows moments when you may see Hawks, Owls, Geese, Swallows, Robins, Bluebirds, and more.

A one-mile trail winds through the property that you are welcome to enjoy. Let me know if you are interested and I will show you were to find the trailhead. The path leads you to fascinating sites such as a tar caldera, Chumash cupules and mortars on boulders, and a tar marsh where wildlife thrives. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, botanist, birder, hiker, or simply seeking peace, this land offers something for you.

This is an incredibly historic site in Santa Barbara history. 2 tribes of Chumash Indians lived here for 10,000 years. This is where Spain landed and began colonizing the area. In the 1950's and 60's, this was the site of the World's largest orchid farm. There is a book called The Royal Rancho, if you are a history buff.

Rustic is the theme here. There is no shower, no wifi, and no electricity available, but you will enjoy your own private spigot and the cellular service is acceptable.
For any sites located south of Ballinger Wash, your vehicle length is limited to 22' and no more than 4' overhang from the rear axle, so you don't get stuck in the crossing and block access for others. Towing services are 1-3 hours away.
Our Songdog Camps are sparsely scattered atop a 200 foot mesa that looks west over a valley offering stunning desert sunsets and amazing stargazing. These UPPER SITES are NOT OHV friendly, but any of our canyon bottom sites are a great base for your riding adventures up in Ballinger Canyon OHV. We'll be happy to recommend a site for you. **Forest Service law enforcement is actively ticketing unplated OHV on Ballinger Canyon Road. Be sure to know and abide by the laws.**
Our friendly cancellation policies vary between 24 hours for simple campsites and 72 hours for our Glamp sites and Group sites. Be sure to check the Google for distance to Cuyama Valley, and your dates for availability and site descriptions. Come stay at our rustic campsite under some large oak trees next to a little open area by an ecological pond on our working ranch!
With 54 acres for our horses and avocados, we welcome guests to camp on a somewhat private part of the ranch (on occasion, equestrians may ride by). We can accommodate up to 8 more campers depending on the group type. We love welcoming families to the ranch, but like to approve larger groups ahead of time!
At the campsite you'll find picnic tables, a fire pit for small fires, and running water.
Minimal 110 Volt electrical outlet is at the campsite.
There is a fully functional unique bathroom made out of a converted horse trailer with a toilet and sink a few hundred yards from the site. Walking around the property, you'll see an activity barn and a historic 19th century cottage which houses a private library. Permission may be granted for entry to these structures if requested. There is an outdoor shower at the campsite with cold water only. Some firewood may be provided at no cost.
Campers, making reservations during cold winter months when the otherwise beautiful weather becomes cooler, should be aware that because of the proximity of a wind machine which makes a noise like a helicopter about 300 yards away from the campsite, on a neighboring property, may interrupt an otherwise peaceful and quiet experience.
The wind machine comes on automatically when the temperature drops to around 37 degrees so that avocados in the orchard do not suffer from a freezing temperature. Please note the trigger temperature for the machines is taken at individual low points on the adjacent property and may reflect as many as 6 degrees lower than what is found on forecast sites.
This machine probably might turn on maybe 7 nights in a year and only during the cold winter months.
Headlamps are a great idea, otherwise, flashlights for sure.

The library and restroom are a little ways away from the campsite
have lighting but it is very dark between the campsite and those facilities.
We are located only two miles to the ocean beaches and about a mile to a major shopping center. UCSB is just minutes away. Bicycling is very easy as all roads and access are flat.
Please return all furniture to the place(s) from which it was moved and thank you for putting out your fire(s) and carrying out your trash to the dumpster when leaving the campsite.

🔥 Fire Safety Notice: Help us protect the land by following these essential fire safety rules! We are in a strict NO CAMPFIRE ZONE due to high wildfire risk. No flame fires, fire pits, or charcoal grills are permitted at any time. Small gas stoves (white gas or propane) are ok for cooking if they have an on/off valve and are used responsibly on cleared surfaces away from dry grass, brush, or flammable material. Supervision required at all times, and flames must be fully extinguished after use.

Warm weather means rattlesnakes are more active. If you're camping or hiking, stay on marked trails, watch your step, and avoid tall grass or rocky crevices. We highly recommend Arber-Moores Ranch to anyone passing through the area ( convenient to many spots) or just looking for a place to relax & recharge. EZ to follow & concise directions. The campsites are all spaced perfectly for privacy & each one has their own Vibe. The amenities of bathroom & HOT shower was fantastic, so nice, private & clean:) , available firewood, fire ring & picnic table were much appreciated. Peace, silence, tranquility. We have a small Class A R so we are use to certain..... luxuries. For true campers this is the place for you. Beautiful. Great staff. Great site prices. Well water for most if not all sites, which for something this remote is fantastic. I enjoyed it much I booked a weekend in about a month. Lots of walking/running space. Fascinating terrain and geography. The thing that breaks a silence that I really fell in love with was the Ballinger Canyon/ Cuyama Valley wind howl or roar. It's very cool. That, with the sounds of a campfire crackling and a coyote's den howling in the distance, there's a magic to it. I highly recommend it.

This place far exceeded our expectations! We planned on a nice relaxing weekend and seeing some animals but the amount of animals and the overall scenery in the mountains was incredible. The cabin was very cozy and warm during the chilly evenings and it was so peaceful sitting by the fire or enjoying our coffee outside while admiring the animals. All of the animals were super friendly and overall unaffected by your presence. The staff pretty much left you alone but was very pleasant and informative whenever we crossed paths. They answered any and all questions we had while dropping off carrots, firewood and tending to the animals.

I had a very relaxing stay at Songdog Ranch. The sunsets and the night sky are absolutely beautiful—it’s the perfect place to sit back and take in the views.
The hosts are awesome and made the experience even better. At night, the barking of the coyotes was like music across the canyons, which made the stay feel rugged and authentic.
My dogs loved the freedom of running around and exploring the landscape. It was a great, peaceful getaway and we highly recommend it!

We had the best stay at Songdog Ranch's Pupdog cabin. The tranquility and quietness of the space was so enjoyable. We spent our days exploring the surrounding nature and hanging out on the deck taking in the sun. Our three dogs also loved it! The new smells and exciting animals kept were so fun for them. The host, Jen, was very accomodating and made our stay feel extra special. We will be back!

The cabin itself was absolutely delightful — cozy, peaceful, thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed, and directly across from a sweet little group of alpacas. The space and scenery felt like an excellent value for the price, and my girls absolutely loved our stay.
We did add on a few extras (carrots for the animals, firewood, and a sauna visit), and while we enjoyed each of these, the communication around them felt a bit unclear. I had to reach out multiple times to coordinate, and we received less firewood than expected close to dark. The sauna was also not ready at our scheduled time, and we weren’t given clear parking instructions — which led to some confusion upon arrival. None of this ruined our stay, but it did make the add-on experience more stressful than anticipated.
Overall, the cabin and location were wonderful, and with clearer communication around the extras, this would easily be a five-star stay.
