We are living our dream after recently finding and purchasing this beautiful 10 acre parcel, one of the sunniest in the canyon with a bucolic creek that flows all year.
See Canyon itself is a special place. Home to a multitude of birds and
wildlife, a beautiful scenic winding road, lush landscaping and a host of apple orchards.
Thanks to the micro climate we have here, we grow some of the best apples and stone fruit in the country. The coastal canyon is just a short distance to the beach and 15 minutes into town but feels like a world away when you are here.
The star gazing is incredible as the canyon walls block the light pollution and the milky way shines!
Welcome to our little slice of 10 acre heaven in the Canyon! Just bring yourself and we have everything else!! Nestle up in the Cozy Gnome Home, a 1967 vintage trailer and listen to the symphony of frogs in the creek just outside your window.
With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two. Detailed with a nice little kitchen with copper counters and everything you need for cooking and dining.
A Berkey filter for clean water, hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic latex mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets.
Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to) eat indoors.
There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (no hot water), gas grill (upon request), propane burner (bring your own small canister) and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too.
The creek runs mostly year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day.
We also have an outdoor warm shower and sink as well.
You are welcome to cruise the property and check out the chickens, ducks, goats and horses.
We have three dogs on the ranch, a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide), a Boston Bulldogge, Astrid and our newest pup, an American Hairless Terrier, Cozmo, silly little guy :)
We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears in the country.
Seasonally you can stop by many apple markets and do a tasting. We also have a lively wine tasting venue less than a mile away.

Frog Hollow is perfectly located for the weekend break or a leisurely mid-week holiday. Come visit us and check out our lovely land and quaint comfy living. Sabyl, our Border Collie, is around and may head down to greet you at some point during your stay.
Our free standing casita is cozy and nestled in a natural serene creekside setting. The loft has a spacious queen size bed for your sleeping pleasure with adjustable reading lights on either side of the bed. The living area offers a fold down couch for another adult or 2 kids. There is a kitchenette with a toaster oven, electric tea kettle and coffee maker. There is a charcoal Weber bbq grill and a propane gas 2 burner stove. We provided a propane fire pit during the fire ban, bring propane and charcoal etc.
There is a well lit private bathroom with hot shower and flushable toilet 20 yards away. Please bring your own towels.
Please use that shower for the casita.
We have a moderate climb hiking trail down the road, Cerro Alto, that offers beautiful views of our coastline.
Simply sit back and watch the the wild turkeys and deer roaming freely on our land, or head out to taste some of San Luis Obispo County award winning wines.

Great Hipcamp, the area is bueatiful and the actual trailer is well stocked and comfortable. The details were a nice touch, and the outdoor shower worked very well.
The only thing to note is that the shared kitchen above the Hipcamp takes away a little bit of the privacy, but other than that, it was such a great stay. Would recommend!

I absolutely loved staying in the cabin. Booked last minute and everything was clean and ready upon arrival. The cabin is 'rustic' meaning not fully insulated from weather and sound but it comes equipped w heaters, ac and even a noise machine to block out outside sound. Bed was comfortable with plenty of extra blankets for the chilly nights and fans to use during the warmer daytime. The only hiccup I had was that the wifi was not working and it was in a dead zone for my cell. Host was immediately responsive but I was never able to get the wifi to work. Town is less then 5 minutes away so I decided to just go without during most of my stay but if this is a deal breaker for you its good to know. Overall its a delightful alternative to pricey hotels in the area or to camping w less amenities and we will definitely be back again next time we are in the area.

We had a fantastic time at vinyl vinyards. It was not only beautiful but it had everything we needed. There was only one thing that might have enhanced our stay. Our host let us know in advance that there was a heater in the camper but we couldn't get it to work. Other than that, we really enjoyed it! Would love to go back!

The space was comfy & cozy & had all we needed. The compost toilet & outdoor shower were far cleaner & more pleasant to use than the average campground facilities. Would return!

We had the most wonderful time! The camper is so cute and just spacious enough, it feels very private. The outdoor shower was lovely with very warm water! Great location as well! Close to downtown SLO and the beach. And Pluto really is as spectacular as everyone says, he is truly such a special dog and made us feel so at home. Our whole stay was very picturesque, from waking up and looking out the window at the oak trees to stargazing at night (with Pluto by our sides). We were very sad to leave.

This was the 3rd time we have visited Lorna’s amazing property and it’s always so wonderful. The cozy gnome home is always nice and comfy and the surrounding trees and creek make this spot tranquil and idyllic. The fresh eggs and fruit, the outdoor shower are not to be missed nor is the company of the incomparable Pluto. Can’t wait for next time!

This was our second time at this beautiful glamping site on the farm, just 8 minutes from Avila Beach, and it’s truly a special place. My son, Rio, loved feeding the horses and goat, chasing the chickens with Pluto the dog, and splashing in the creek. Pluto happily tagging along. Evenings were spent making s’mores under the stars. We’ll definitely keep coming back!

Such a cute camper. I want one now. Aside from Pluto being so adorable my favorite part was at about 8:30 or so I heard an owl hoot and that seemed to trigger all the frogs to start the symphony of night time.
Cell service at best is spotty if available at all. So bring a book. 🙂

This site was just what we were looking for. It was quiet and we had a lot of privacy. The location was perfect because it was so close to downtown SLO, Avila Beach, & Pismo. What made the experience so great was Pluto the dog. He greeted us when we got there & stayed next to the trailer the entire time we were there. I’ve never met such a well behaved dog. Overall, we had a very nice stay and would recommend it to others!

This was the most delightful little Hipcamp of all time. The trailer is precious, comfortable, private, and has everything you could possibly need. The grounds are beautiful-- there is space to explore (just be sure to know what poison oak looks like!) and the surrounding area is rich with things to do.
But the real star of the show is clearly Pluto the dog. I am admittedly not even a dog person and he truly stole my heart! He greeted us with such abundant joy, led us on the most beautiful hike, and added such a sweet personal flair to our stay. I missed him as soon as I left!
I will definitely be back here again.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Glamping in the Canyon
Lorna's place is absolutely beautiful, and the trailer is cozy and provides the basics for a good stay.
The location is great, and the trailer is mostly private.
There were a couple of things that have stopped me from leaving a stellar review: 1. The first night we were awoken by a volunteer and her friends coming home in the wee hours of the night, turning all of the lights and using our shower.
2. We were not provided any extra buckets or lids for the outhouse loo. We did ask for them and we're only given a new one and no extras
3. The volunteers hang out at the communal kitchen which is right above where the outside shower is so if you are even a bit tall you may be having a shower and looking out at them.
Pluto, the dog, was amazing he hung out with us whenever we were there and is a very sweet and well behaved dog! (The other dogs are great too!)
We really did enjoy our stay, but the above could be improved upon (especially considering the cost).

Where to go
Santa Barbara County
Head south from Oceano and you'll quickly reach Santa Barbara County, known for its Spanish-style mission architecture and tasty, locally produced wine. Highlights include the upscale coastal city of Santa Barbara and the Danish-inspired community of Solvang.
Coastal Ventura County
In the same way that Oceano is known for its dunes, Ventura County is known for its beach camping. Both Rincon Parkway Beach and Emma Wood State Beach offer RV camping, while Faria Beach Park and Hobson Beach Park have spaces for both tents and RVs.
San Luis Obispo County
While there’s lots to do in the counties south of Oceano, there’s also plenty right in San Luis Obispo County. Drive up the coast to take in seaside views and visit beaches, or head up to the Paso Robles area to check out local wineries or soak in thermal hot springs.
When to go
Oceano is very much a summertime destination, so expect crowds during the months of June through August. September after Labor Day weekend is a great alternative, offering the hottest temperatures of the year without the summer vacation crowds. Spring is also pleasant, but can get windy. The months of December through April are great for whale watchers, as this is the season during which gray whales head out on their annual migration.
