Oakland might be known primarily for being an urban jungle, but wander a bit out of the city limits, and you'll find plenty to do in Northern California's outdoors! It's fairly easy to get to neighboring San Francisco from here as well. Anthony Chabot Regional Park is about a 20-minute drive from downtown. This park's built around Lake Chabot, allowing for fishing and swimming. Tent camping is available on 63 sites. Like a little sightseeing with your hiking? Check out the park's East Bay Skyline National Trail. This 36-mile trail begins in ACRP but continues on to provide beautiful panoramic views of San Francisco and the Bay Area. Venture a little further south to visit the 4,000-acre Butano State Park. This area's hiking trails wind through the famous California redwoods. If you're up for a challenge, tackle the 9.5-mile Canyon Loop trail. This one's a full-day project, but you'll see the best views the park offers. If that's a bit much, try the 1.5-mile Little Butano Creek trail. It's much less strenuous but takes you through a good range of area fauna.

Weekend Trip to Snug Harbor RV Park & Marina

We were backed right to the slough with our own boat dock if needed. Water front within 25'. Definitely a cool getaway, within 60 miles of Sacramento. This place is totally pet friendly with numerous poop stations and a fenced in dog park. During our stay, they had done tacos, breakfast burritos, and a movie night. During the day on Saturday they had a jet ski show as well! Campsite are side by side with full amenities water, sewer, and electric. Some spots have better shade, however we will know what we're looking for at the next opportunity to come out!
