Weekend Trip to Nolla A-Frames Near Yosemite

I was looking for a last minute escape to the mountains to clear my head but didn’t want to deal with a) my own tent or gear, b) a big campground with tons of other people, c) pretentious “glamping” tents, or d) a soulless “cabin” for family reunions. Bonus points for cool design. Liza and Tom’s site was perfect! Tucked up in the woods so it feels remote but easily accessible from the road and just a few minutes drive to cell service and food options. I was in cabin 2 next to a friendly couple in cabin 3, but when I was inside it felt like I was all alone. The A-frame itself is a cool minimalist Scandinavian design, with comfy beds and an incredible floor to ceiling window to watch the sunset and pick out constellations after dark. Outhouse/toilet was comfy, clean and didn’t smell at all. Showers were modern and clean with fresh towels (they’re across the main road so best to drive). I can’t wait to come back for a longer stay!

We loved our stay! It was everything we were hoping for. The A-Frames were very comfortable for the two of us and our 130lb dog. The camp site itself was very quiet and private. Really easy access to the park and nice to have the option of using the showers at their sister property if needed. We're planning on coming back and staying again!

We decided last minute on a stay near Yosemite and this place was conveniently near the highway leading to the West entrance but still private and secluded. The views at night with the stars were beautiful!!! We did stay after a snowstorm so it was cold but bundled up with our own extra blankets and sleeping bags and were cozy! Really cozy and very nice to have extra blankets and the charger.

The A-frame cabin was a beautiful, scenic stay within convenient distance from Yosemite. I found it easy to check in, and the hosts provide useful guidance for finding the cabin. Cell service is spotty, so be sure to plan ahead. I found it easy to find, but be aware that you'll want to plan ahead. The view out the cabin window was stunning, and I found all accommodations - bed, desk, lamp, battery, and shower - very comfortable. I will always remember the stars and moonlight.

As a solo traveler (with canine companion) I appreciate good communication with hosts and feeling safe within my camping surroundings. Tom and Liza are thoughtful hosts and Cabin One is charming. It is easily accessible via dirt road with a near-by porta-potty. If you want to feel more remote during your camping experience inquire about cabins two & three (as well as accessibility.) A Yeti full of a generous amount of clean, potable water is provided. I camp with extra warm Rumple-style blankets and hand-heater packets because I get cold easily. I was cozy overnight during my early November stay and enjoyed breakfast in the morning sun at the adjacent picnic table. The photos in the multiple reviews all accurately depict the set-up at the Cabin One sight. Trust the pin & directions to your campsites provided :) I’m looking forward to camping during late-spring/early summer and trying Campsites Two/Three!

Liza and Tom’s Cabin was a great place to stay at to provide us with the calm views of the California hills we were looking for. They set up the cabin for us before we arrived so all we truly needed to do was unwind and enjoy the sunset, stars, and sunrise! While we stayed for a quick trip, we would’ve loved to visit for longer to continue to enjoy what the cabin had to offer.

Really lovely spot with lots of privacy and amazing views. There is a load creaking sound in the cabin every so often but with ear plugs it’s totally fine to sleep. The location is nice and near cute places, not far from yosemitie gate but to the valley it’s about an hour

We loved the cute little A Frame at Liza and Tom’s. Cabin 1 was secluded (didn’t see another person the whole time), had a great view, and was the perfect place to stay for our little family (2 adults and a 4 month old). When the rain started rolling in the day we were set to leave, I was admittedly a little nervous, but the cabin provided a perfect respite from the weather and it was very cool to watch the storm from the window. The A Frame is very roomy on the inside - we had the king size bed setup and set our baby’s pack and play up on the mattress with us and had plenty of room to spare. The cabin also provided us super easy access to Yosemite - no more than a 15 minute drive to the park entrance. Great vibes all around!

It was a very secluded area. I loved the fact that I was the only person there and there was no other camper it was nice. It wasn't very far from Yosemite. And you had everything there you needed a shower, A toilet. Gallon of water. Fire pit.

The host had the camp ground equipped with a picnic table under a tent canopy, which was greatly enjoyed for food prep. He had a nice screened fire pit and comfy chairs to chilax in. Camp site #1 had nice big shade trees and was the best choice of the 2 that we saw. The best surprise was the cool red wood shower that had on demand hot water for great showers, a surprise luxury. Take water, as hosts warned, there is no water, thus no real toilets either, but a very clean and well stocked port-a-pot! This camp site is surprisingly close to Yosemite west entrance on 120! I will stay there again on our next visit. Oh yeah, and at night... those stars! Wow!

It's a very nice site if you don't mind being 100ft from the highway. Traffic dies at night but picks up pretty early. The amenities were exactly as listed and having the gas station across the street was great. If you have a large group get both the sites because they're very close. I would stay again. The shower, portopotty and table were perfect.

We had a great stay despite super hot days and the cabin heating up to sauna level :) The cabins are great, small, lovely and have everything necessary. Our cabin was #3 - it’s a perfect site to rent with a group of people because cabin 2 and 3 are next to each other and no one is around you. Beautiful views! Our dog became all orange because he would lay in a red clay dust and no matter how much we cleaned him with wipes, he was orange the entire trip :)
