There’s 5 acres, partly shaded by old mesquite trees and native Washingtonia palms that tower over rock lined paths. I recently fixed up our old 1949 tear drop camper for staying in after it had been abandoned for 30 years. It’s equipped with solar power, a gas burner, a pump sink, and a cooler. Had an epic stay at Scorpion Ranch! The property is very lovely and filled with many unique plants. Harlan’s care of the plants is very clear! Loved the little touches and rock paths. Great views. Felt private at the trailer. Appreciated the last minute accommodation as well!

Weekend Trip to High Desert Protocol

This place is so magical and so happy Tao shares this space he's created with the world. The Spartan had great vibes! We roamed around the lot exploring the pool, hut and outside kitchen. We met some fellow hipcampers and chatted and it's just an awesome community that's going on here. The road to get to the entrance is a dirt road with soft patches, my little Nissan Kicks was able to make it through no problem. It is extremely dark at night so be mindful going in and out. Also a previous reviewer made a comment about too many lights and couldn't see stars. Maybe Tao made changes, but I was able to see stars just fine at night. Can't wait to come back!!

The land is beautiful and the pool area is breathtaking. It's lovely to see the sunset, moon and sun rise, in such landscape. We stayed in one of the trailers. After it finally cooled off with the AC in the bedroom, it was more pleasant.

Harlan’s place is straight out of a storybook! The camper is so cute it’s like a hug emoji. The whole property radiates rustic magic, with a dreamy pool and lounge chairs so comfy and so relaxing I actually fell asleep in one. It’s the kind of serene, soul-soothing spot that makes time slow down. I especially loved relaxing in the hammock beneath the trees. I felt safe, happy, and totally enchanted. Harlan was a great host. I can’t wait to return.

The trailer was super cute , clean and comfortable. The land owners paid a lot of attention to detail with the property and they also ensured I was doing well throughout my stay; the combination of these made me feel safe and extremely comfortable, especially as a solo female! There were beautiful walking paths, a crisp cold pool (much needed in the desert heat), a clean outdoor toilet , and a hammock to thoroughly enjoy the surrounding nature. And there’s a natural alarm clock with the neighbor’s rooster. I enjoyed that too! I stayed 3 nights and didn’t want to leave. I will definitely come back for my next solo retreat. Thank you!!
