Bowens Ranch is absolutely beautiful. Tent camping spaces are thoughtfully laid out with opportunities for privacy and beautiful views.
There is plenty of wildlife from horses to kangaroo mice. The entire campsite is well maintained and there was a REAL porcelain throne in the toilet facility. I was too tired after hiking to the hot springs and back to make it to the recreation tent, but it sounded like everyone was having a great time. We will definitely be back, hopefully when its a bit warmer. 😉
Getting to the ranch was easier than expected and the staff was very sweet and kind. Thank you everyone who answered all my questions! See you again soon!

Christine's HipCamp was an excellent setting for a quick weekend camp for our family. Nestled in the middle of several apple orchards along Oak Glen Road, the location was perfect for enjoying the local activities and atmosphere. We’re a group of RV campers - 5 rigs and 1 tent, totaling 13 people and we fit comfortably with room to spare. The camp site is private, clean, and incredibly relaxing. There are plenty of shaded areas to chill during the day, and a beautifully lit dinner space. The Ranch is perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. Every detail feels thoughtfully maintained, making it one of the most enjoyable camping experiences we’ve had. It’s clear this place was designed with comfort and community in mind.
And then there’s Steven. He’s a great camp host. Very responsive, kind, and incredibly accommodating. Steven goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcome and cared for.
We’re already planning our next visit. This place is a keeper!

My partner and I have camped here twice now and we love it, hospitable staff, open area for camping with a table and bonfire area as well. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises and lighting around the area. They just added glamping areas to rent with other amenities like shower, pool table and more! We will definitely be returning in the near future!

Our group stayed in both the Canvas Tent and the Creekside Container Cabin, and the combination of these two rentals made for a truly unique and unforgettable getaway. The Canvas Tent was the perfect place to immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature. The full-size futon and bunk bed provided plenty of space, and while we brought our own bedding as directed, it felt cozy and well-equipped. The setting was serene and private, and we loved stargazing around the property each night. The composting toilet was easy to access, and the addition of the sink was a thoughtful touch for convenience.
With the Creekside Container Cabin just a short walk away, we had the luxury of alternating between the rugged charm of the Canvas Tent and the cozy comfort of the cabin. This setup is ideal if you’re traveling with a group or family and want a mix of traditional camping and "glamping." The property is also close to downtown Idyllwild, hiking trails, and other outdoor attractions, so there’s always something to do. We can’t say enough great things about the property owners – their attention to detail, friendly communication, and genuine hospitality really made our trip special. Whether you’re booking just the Canvas Tent or both spots like we did, you won’t regret it!

My sister and I enjoyed camping here! It was equipped with a fire place, compost toilet and beautiful views. The host was very attentive and sweet. Totally would recommend for beginnings who are getting into the car camping scene. We will definitely be back!
