Single outdoor flush toilet with sink. We provide a Propane stove - 2 burner, propane, toilet paper, dish soap and hand soap. No COTS.Guests love it here "This was finally checked off of my saved list—my partner and I rented a 4x4 to get up there since our 2WD car wouldn't have made it in one piece. It was only a short drive from downtown San Diego and was super easy to navigate.
Once we arrived the experience was TRULY MAGICAL. We had such an awesome experience exploring the property, birdwatching, hiking and some light climbing. Don't forget to check out the cave!
The facilities were beyond expectations and we had a seamless experience. Steve was super accommodating and was great at communicating—he even gave us a small tour of the property!
The sunsets and sunrises here were something out of a dream, we wish we could wake up every morning here.

Nopalito Farm has been in operation since late 2014, but the property itself has been a working farm for over 50 years. Lemons and avocados were the primary crops from the 70’s through the 00’s, and are still prominent throughout our 15 acres. Our predecessors then diversified the growing operation by planting a wide range of fruit trees ranging from guavas and passion fruit to peaches and figs. For a decade, hops were grown on 2 acres and were sold to breweries throughout southern California. We’ve since replaced the hop yard with perennial flowers, but continue to cultivate a wide variety of delicious fruits.

Site is at the top of a STEEP hill. Some maneuvering on your end will be required to get a vehicle in, but site is level once parked. Hookups are included but cannot be connected continuously. This is an URBAN camp spot meaning there will be some noise from the freeways and the city that's off in the distance. We live in a neighborhood so our neighbors sometimes make noise or have cars coming in and out. Our property is protected by security cameras.

*We take the approach of being hands off on the property unless needed, so do not plan to visit with us in person during your stay (unless there is an issue that needs to be addressed) - we want you to feel like you have the home all to yourself!
*NO PARTIES/ EVENTS/ GATHERINGS. MAX OCCUPANCY observed on property. Limit of 2 guests MAX. Please do not book this property if you are looking to party as you will be asked to leave with no refund.
*There is plenty of parking along our spacious unpaved driveway leading up to the home and it is secured by our private security gate.

*Guests arriving after dark: Twin Oaks Valley road is not well lit (due to no street lights). Proceed slowly with headlights on. Address is posted at the entrance. *Smoke detector - I will be notified if there is smoking inside the townhome ($200 fine) *Minut – sound detection at high decibels – I will be notified at 85 decibels during regular hours and over 70 decibels during quiet hours. If it gets very loud you will be notified too. We cannot hear what is being said, just measured sound decibels.
*Exterior Cameras- Security gate, driveway and front door- audio & visual recordings activated by motion sensor and in place for safety measures.
*Special note after the COVID-19 Crisis: Protecting each other’s health and safety is very important to us. We are doing our part in keeping our vacation rental as safe as possible to prevent any spread of any disease/illness. 2 nights at Hideout Mountain Lodge
The full amenities, were a plus. The fridge was great, no need for ice refills. Wifi, stove, microwave, and shower/toilet came in handy, as did the heating(40° temps). Dark sky viewing was excellent, and made viewing Jupiter and the total lunar eclipse with my telescope, amazing. Close proximity to Julian is great.

Site manager was really friendly, came by to check in on me in the morning
However.. The person I was messaging would respond hours after I message them. They said they would send me a map of the area but never did.
The cove is quite cozy, it's an actual cove. Cabin 9 (I think) kind of overlooks the campsite, but they have some wall/barriers set up so it doesn't feel overly intrusive. The ground is pretty flat so it's a good setup anywhere around the site.
The site owners have nice turf patches that you can move around and set your tent on top of, so it's nice to have some padding under as well.
You can hear the cows in the distance and when you have time, walk around the site, there is quite a nice view of the lake and surrounding meadow. Really nice view.
It's quite peaceful, and they put thoughtful touches like fairy lights that are solar powered and an electrical outlet nearby the site. The site manager, Ray, I believe, told me they are continuously looking to improve the site for a more enhanced experience.
Overall, I did enjoy the stay, the campsite was really peaceful, it might've been a slower season at the moment, but the weather was cool, site was comfortable, and I had a good time.
Will come back again.

Weekend Trip to Campo Nopalito
Jacob is super accommodating and just nice all-around! He responded right away whenever I messaged him. When we got there, the Eureka cabin was so cute, and the sun on the porch felt very nice. While it was cold at night during this time, Jacob provided extra blankets for us. We also bought firewood for the firepit in front of the cabin, and pizza oven wood to make pizzas! The outdoor kitchen is STOCKED with more than just basic seasonings and kitchenware. The outdoor shower runs hot water easily and is decently covered. Walking around the land feels very much like a camping outdoor experience. Gertie (their dog) was also very friendly and loved being around us

Booked a spot in the Cove tent camping area. Very peaceful and secluded. Cows in the valley below brooding daytime and at night coyotes howling. Lots of stars in the clear skies. It was cold at night, late February, (low 40's) so I decided to car camp. The camp hosts are really sweet. The toilet was close and very well kept. This is a quiet spot, yet only about a 25 minute drive to downtown Julian. I was the only tent camper, the cabins near by had occupancy. There is also a lower tent camping area that gets much more sun. I hesitate to recommend it for selfish reasons! Definitely a place I will return to. Great spot!

I decided on a last minute spur of the moment camping trip with my pup and we loved Campo Nopalito so much! The cute and cozy A shaped cabin, fully stocked kitchen with pizza oven, eating and rest areas, bathroom, and beautiful grassy areas was convenient and perfect for a low effort camping experience. Jacob was very kind and helpful and we’ll definitely be back with pizza ingredients to try out the pizza oven next time.

We loved our weekend stay at The Bluebirds Nest cabin. The place was very clean and comfortable. The temperatures got down to the 30’s at night and wood burning fireplace kept us warm and cozy.

Weekend Trip to Campo Nopalito
The A frame was a nice cozy experience and the land around was clean, beautiful, and quiet. The fire pit near by gave a really nice ambiance and Jacob was super nice and accommodating.
The shared kitchen, eating area, and common place was clean and a really nice homey touch.
I can’t wait for the weather to warm up and I will absolutely be back!

Our stay at Hideout Mountain Lodge was wonderful. The place was very clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully equipped with a flush toilet and hot shower—such a perfect mix of comfort and nature.
The hikes nearby were amazing, with breathtaking views and fresh mountain air that made every step worthwhile. It’s the ideal spot to relax, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. We would happily stay here again!

This is the perfect place for a San Diego getaway! It’s such a gorgeous property and A Frame to stay in. We had an awesome weekend hanging out and reading with the side open and making pizzas in the wood fired oven in the evening. Jacob and his girlfriend were super friendly and helpful, and the fruit we bought with passion fruits and kumquats is the best we’ve had anywhere. Camp dog Gertie is also sweet as can be and followed us around as we walked through the flowers. Would reccomend 11/10 and will definitely be back!

We loved car camping here. Our campsite had a bonfire pit and picnic table. We were also a quick walk to a flush toilet and a sink with potable water. We enjoyed a campfire while star gazing and hearing the occasional cow and coyote. We also heard lots of frogs throughout the night. The only downside was hearing the cars, but it wasn’t too bad.
The host was quick to respond to any question I had. I would love to come back here with a group. Thank you!

The Cove is a great spot for camping in the shade and the artificial grass mats provided in spot #1 was more than enough to act as additional insulation between the ground and the tent. Also, great overall camping spot for those wanting to visit Palomar, Julian and other nearby areas.

Our time at Nopalito Farm was seriously awesome - Jacob & his partner were incredibly hospitable, the farm was beautiful, and our A-frame was super cute and clean. We got to cook in the wood fire pizza oven which was a blast. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We had an absolutely beautiful time here. My boys, husband and I enjoyed this. Our dogs were happy wondering around. The ambience is calm and the space amazing. The tent and beds were clean. We brought our little camp stove but they have a communal kitchen, bathrooms and lounge area. We are def. coming back again.

Weekend Trip to Campo Nopalito
Jacob’s Little Cabin was the perfect first glamping experience. The cabin is just big enough for the fully made comfortable bed, and the wall that opens up like a garage door gives you a stunning view. It truly feels like camping, but with zero stress.
Jacob was very kind and helpful without being intrusive, and we loved his dog Gertie — she was playful and even got along great with our dog, who usually doesn’t like other dogs.
The kitchen was the highlight, especially the pizza oven. Making our own pizza was such a fun experience. The bathroom was spotless, and he even has an outdoor hot shower. Everything you need is provided — pots, pans, dishes, silverware, drinking water, and seasonings.
An easy five-star stay. We’d absolutely come back.
