This is a beautiful, peaceful site for your motor home, RV or tent. You will have hiking access to over 100 acres on our property. Trabuco Creek which runs through the property is usually flowing during the winter months. The campsite can accommodate up to 50 people. I have hosted family parties with 500+ people.

It was Then That "Corporations" began Buying Up Fertile FarmLand, Clear Cutting, Mono-Cropping. Creating Corporate "Grocery Store" Chains DESTROYING "The Family Farm." My Son's Father & I Rescued This Land in 1998. It was Derelict. We were Handed A 1' HIGH FILE FULL OF Building Department "Violations" The Oaks were ALL Dying from Lack Of Fresh Air/Oxygen & Sunshine. We Removed (8) 5 TON DUMPSTERS/40 TONS OF GARBAGE INCLUDING: Cars, Car Parts/Tires, Toilets, Jacuzzi Tubs, Dishware, Newspapers, Utensils++. Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers.
Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

Was a great campground with a beautiful views of the Fallbrook area. Had a good time tent camping with a nice fire pit along it. Found that the local goats were so cute and the peace of being in the great outdoors was just what was needed to escape the hustle and bustle of city life!

Beautiful spot with a little creek running thru the property. Lots of nature with birds and frogs singing. Close to a cafe and a restaurant and not too far from shopping, laundry etc. A great getaway.

The restrooms at this campground were very clean, and we were able to stay very comfortably. I went with my son, and we felt very safe the entire time. We enjoyed walking around and checking out the different sites, and my son especially loved interacting with the goats. He had such a great time. It was a beautiful place, and we would definitely love to come back again.

Some of the nicer sites were gorgeous. The drive up was a bit intense on a winding cliff road.
Make sure you know what site you’re going to. I tired to ask but when I got there the signage was unclear. They made me take down my set up after dark and move to a different site, even though I followed the Oak Grove sign. The host said “sorry you have to move your shit” and left after giving me incorrect directions to the other site.
I am a female solo traveling and could not see to set up my tent and everything again in the dark so had to get a motel.
When I requested a refund since I didn’t even stay the night the host accused me of messing up another campers trip and purposefully choosing the expensive site. When it was just an accident because their signage was unclear. Hipcamp refunded me but the hosts refused and sent a very rude text in response to my request.
I wish I had a better experience, it was beautiful there but unfortunately I wasn’t able to stay and woudnt return without booking the more expensive sites or being able to check the whole camp ground to make sure I’m in the right area.

If you only visit one Hipcamp in your life, this should be on the list. This is not a layover stop as you travel up and down southern California, but rather it truly is a destination. Without hesitation the most enjoyable places we have ever experienced using Hipcamp.
We stayed during early February and were glad we had the amazing trees within the communal compound to provide shade. There is history here. You can tell this was a working farm in earlier days. And then Ben and perhaps others have a vision of what the land and amenities is for travelers and he truly has we nomads in mind. It’s just the right amount of conveniences nestled within a beautiful hilltop escape.
We had the central compound all to ourselves. That is for the herd of goats that maintain the landscaping. Quite a treat to enjoy an afternoon watching them graze in the 80° sun.
Ben has done a great job making the roads or trails well groomed for any vehicle and we took numerous dog walks in all different directions.
Adding to the experience is what we considered to be his extremely fair pricing. Not just for Southern California but for everywhere we have visited. We shall return.

FIRST TIMER— Visited for two days, was such a mesmerizing experience! Being able to camp in nature was a beauty! Such a great space, lots of trees, goats, and a Great Pyrenees that checks up on you here and there! The land is disbursed, so you can camp mostly anywhere— lots of spots! They have fire pits mostly at every spot— clean, earthy, and beautiful! Lots of space to go on walks/morning jogs! There are restrooms and a shower steps away from the campsite. Pretty clean secluded space up in Fallbrook! Definitely recommend to check it out for a weekend or a couple of days!

We stayed one night camping at Split Rock Farm and Retreat and had such a lovely experience. I came with my seven-year-old and felt very safe the entire time, which was important to me. Waking up surrounded by goats was such a special moment my kid absolutely loved it and couldn’t stop smiling. The trails were peaceful and easy to enjoy, and the overall atmosphere felt calm and family-friendly. We’ll definitely be back again.

The Oak Grove Communal Campground is located in a bunch of really full trees that provide lots of shade. The ground is flat enough to set up a tent, and the individual fire pits are great! We chose to have 1 Bell tent set up for us when we arrived, and it was so helpful for that part of our group.
There are tons of fun walking trails/boulders to play on, so it was great for families.
The camp dogs are super friendly, and we loved having them join us.
Things I would note if it is someone’s first time here: 1) If you arrive after 7pm, there is no one onsite or via phone that you can reach for assistance. 2) coming in after dark is not advised by me, due to the fact that the roads on site are windy and hilly. There were parts where I needed 4-wheel drive to get around (though not specifically at the oak grove spot).
3) the goats absolutely roam around and will come directly into your campsite. We didn’t mind it, but if you don’t like that idea, it’s something to keep in mind.

The campsites were nicely taken care of, toilets and showers were clean and overall it was a fun experience. It’s also relatively easy to get to. When we went it was windy so we basically had the whole place to ourselves the first night.

Tracy was an excellent host. The kitchen and dining areas are very comfortable and convenient and made tent camping enjoyable. Directions to the site were easy to follow. The property is unique and has plenty of sitting spaces.
