Have it all and relax at our forest glen located in Southern Humboldt 5 miles up private dirt road (2 wheel drive OK- but sports car height is not good ( IE not a BMW or Tesla)--higher clearance is best.) Our land is part of an old collectively owned by "back to the landers" group from the 70's. The parcel is over 500 acres, but our portion is about 40 acres. There is a large deepwater pond with a rowboat (and frogs) orchard, stream, and many hiking trails my husband created and dirt roads winding through the property.

Enjoy the birds in the morning and frogs on the pond at night from your well equipped tent with queen mattress and comfy comforters, sitting space, and wood counter for food prep. ( propane ok) No fires allowed at site but enjoy the large communal fire pit and terrace steps away.
Our deep water pond (15 ft) is FULL and ready for warm summer swims.
Wifi and electric for charging and an electric water kettle for coffee making is available at the communal space. EV charging is possible but slow off of our solar panels.
Hiking trails on our 500 acre property and Lost Coast Trail at Shelter Cove Black Sands beach is 1 hour away. Ave of the Giants is 45 minutes away. We encourage 2 night stays as it is a bit of a trek to get here. Your hosts have everything you might need ( cooking wise) and can arrange for cooking equipment and utensils. Need Paella pans? Paella is our passion and we can offer a Paella Cookout customized to your dietary needs for an additional fee.
We are 5 miles up a private dirt road ( 2 wheel drive is ok but caution to lower clearance vehicles)
You will be deep in the relaxing forest. The 16 foot bell tent is quite large and can accommodate 2 more travelers. However they would need to provide sleeping bags and mats. Children under 10 not recommended
The Chimes tent is slightly smaller 13 foot bell tent set on a platform 6 feet off the ground-- literally in the trees!
We provide one citronella candle.
Don't forget your headlamps.
We are 35 miles (once on the pavement) to Lost Coast Trail and Shelter Cove.

Loved our stay here! Henry is a wonderful host: very thoughtful, responsive, and provides a lovely space. The large tent/yurt is situated in his backyard in town. There is some street noise, but didnt find it too disturbing. There is a lot of outdoor grassy space for kids or a dog. We brought our dog. The bathroom is located in the house and Henry communicated all there was to know very well. We enjoyed watching a movie on the pulldown screen. The bed was comfy and I recommend this stay for anyone looking for a comfy and cozy spot in Eureka. Thanks again!

Weekend Trip to Eel River Escape
Such a special place to be. The homey feeling of an Airbnb with the privacy and nature of a good camping adventure. River access is a little bit of a trek to get to so just something to note if you might not be as able bodied but sooo worth it if you can- we essentially had that section of the river completely to ourselves. Tent was well kept and everything was well maintained. Would definitely recommend and will probably be back at some point!

Henry was such a thoughtful host and his place had everything we needed and more! We watched a movie on the projector and had hot chocolate, which felt like such a treat 💕 We were able to cook a little with the pots, hot plate, and utensils provided as well. The heater kept us nice and warm and we were able to charge our devices as well! The indoor bathrooms were spotless and easy to access. Overall definitely recommend and would stay here again!

Henry provided a private and comfortable tent setting for our brief stay in Eureka. The tent was well stocked with everything a guest could want or need (the back massager was fantastic!). The bed was comfy and the bathrooms were exceptional. Guest should be prepared that they do need to go into Henry's personal house to use the bathrooms. We didn't meet Henry, but wish we had the chance to so we could thank him in person :-)

We loved our night at the bell tent by the river. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. Season was a warm, helpful host. It was very hot when we arrived and she recommended some Eel River splash and swim locations based on my son's swimming ability. The showers were warm and well kept. Wifi was strong enough for video chats wih family. The portapotties were clean but nothing can change the odor in 100 degree heat. Plus the dog and cat were so cute and sweet. We plan to come back.

This was a perfect gem in town and made to feel like a private little retreat. Henry was the most amazing host, having thought of every comfort his guests might want. The glamping tent had so many thoughtful touches, and Henry went above and beyond with breakfast and snack offerings, welcome treats and a note, detailed instructions on everything, and a fantastic dinner recommendation.

I booked this last minute for my daughter, who is 2.5 years old, my 1.5 years old goldendoodle, and myself. My daughter was so excited for the new creative environment. Her words, "this is amazing!!" It is obvious that the host is passionate about hosting - we felt so welcome and supported. We loved the fresh grass and we had a lot of fun playing games and hanging out and resting in the sun. Coffee available in the tent, and milk and OJ, breakfast in the kitchen and tent has the perfect selection of snacks upon arrival. I almost missed the view in the backyard into the valley of trees through one of the tent windows. This is perfect if you want to explore the zoo and eat yummy food close by. We enjoyed lots of pasta and salad bar nearby at Babes. I could go on and on.. you'll have to discover it for yourself. Side Note: The bed is not very long, so I wouldn't recommend for taller friends, like my husband who is 6"4. I also utilized the earplugs that were provided - as I'm a light sleeper and some vehicles drive fast on the mains street.
