The Redwoods Bend Retreat is a place to get away from it all. Located on the Yurok reservation right on the Klamath River just outside Orick, CA, we are "off the grid", through a Redwood forest and over a mountain down into the Klamath River valley. We have a 5 acre meadow, and orchard with 50 trees, peaches pears, apples, cherries, plums, pluots, apricots and grapes. We are right on the Klamath river. It's a great place to come and recharge your internal batteries. There is no cellphone service and none of our sites have internet service.
Our Main House was built in 1952 and retains the flavor of the 50’s. It houses a kitchen, dining hall, a living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a bathtub and shower.
Our log-built Lodge overlooks the Klamath River with 3 bedrooms, a full kitchen, bathroom and wrap-around covered porch.
Our Pumpkin and Blue Cottages. They are close to the double Yellow Shower house and toilets, and they have hot and cold running water, a propane cooktop, and a wood stove for heat. We do NOT have refrigeration, and our solar batteries or generator provides us lights at night. Campers who use our Cottages may use their own sleeping bags, but we have beds with mattresses and pillows and clean bedding. We also have an Upper Barn bedroom and half-bath rental.
Our two-story Riverview Yurt appeals to folks who want a full kitchen, a private shower and flush toilet overlooking the Klamath river from our 50 x 50 foot upper deck. Luscious to sit outside and watch the river flow by during the day, and to let the water lull you to sleep at night. For families (up to 8), folks who like to fish, or old friends who just want a very special get-away.
Each of our six campsites have a picnic table and a fire pit. Our Maple River, Grotto River and Pepperwood River sites overlook the gorgeous Klamath River. Our Morning Meadow, Orchard Meadow, and Deer Meadow sites are close to our 5 acre meadow where blacktail deer graze in the evenings.
We have a Yellow double Shower House with two separate sides, each with a toilet, sink and shower and on demand hot water, so folks don't have to wait. There's also a new Camp Shower at the corner of the orchard for our campers, along with two outhouses for camper use, one at the bottom of the road down to the meadow, and another in the woods just past Deer Meadow Camp.
We see lots of wildlife; silver foxes, a bald eagle and a family of river otters downstream, vultures, blue heron, occasionally an osprey will fly overhead clutching a freshly caught salmon and call to each other to brag about it! There are rare sightings of timid black bears who run from humans, but sometimes can be seen grazing in the meadow with the black-tail deer.
We're surrounded by old logging trails made by the lumber companies 80 years ago when they clear cut the old growth redwood on our side of the mountain, and now it's completely reforested with 200 ft tall Doug Fir, Madrone, Cedar, Oak, other pine species and Pepper wood trees, and we have written permission from the Green Diamond company to allow guest to hike on their adjacent properties.

What a nice and quiet spot to get some alone time with that someone special! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at overlook 1, and would recommend it to anyone looking for privacy and beauty. There are bears in the area, as evidenced by 7 giant piles of bear poop and scratches on a tree so bring protection. Other than that, the place was absolutely perfect! Nice view of the river too!!!

The cabins were super clean and cozy, completely surrounded by trees and tons of sun. I thought it was really cool that they run fully on solar power but still have electricity and wifi so you really do get the best of both worlds. The hosts were so kind and they even left snacks in the cabin, which was so sweet. Bathrooms and showers were impressively spotless and fully functional too. The entrance road is a little rough, but once you’re in, it’s so pretty, peaceful and serene, you won’t even mind the ride up.
P.S. I had no clue what a “Ganjier” was when I booked, did a quick Google later and was a little surprised, given I had my younger sister with me lol.

This stay was everything I needed. I booked the Aristocrat trailer with my dog, and from the moment we arrived, it was clear how much care and intention went into every detail. The trailer was cozy, stylish, and full of charm.
Mallory and Jeff have created something truly special. The property is beautifully designed, with trails to explore, maps to guide you, and welcome kits for both humans and pups! Even the dog leash hooks in the kitchen made me smile, such a thoughtful touch that shows how well they understand their guests.
The outdoor shower was a bonus - peaceful, refreshing, and somehow made me feel more connected to the land. And the shared kitchen and dining space were so well done. It felt communal without being crowded, and added a layer of comfort and ease to the whole experience.
Mallory was so sweet when we checked out, she made sure everything went smoothly and it was obvious how much she cares about this place. That kind of genuine hospitality really stayed with me.
Already planning my return, next time with people I love so they can experience the magic too!

From the drive in to the yurt next to river…. It was a hidden gem for us to get out of the hustle & bustle of the city life & enjoy the quiet country life for a couple days & just unplug.
There are no services within an hour drive so do come prepared with your own supplies for a couple days or you’ll have to live off the abundant local blackberries.
The river access & kayaks that were provided onsite were amazing. If I was a fisherman I may of never left.
The acres of blackberry bushes provided entertainment for the entire family!
Hopefully we’ll see you again soon otter space!

Peaceful location and very nice hosts. I had a flat tire slow leak when I woke up in the AM and Jeff helped me right away get air in it so I could drive to a tire shop. I stayed in the little RV and it is very small, good for me as a small single person plus my little dog but would be tight for 2 adults. You'd have to really like each other. The stars were great and I enjoyed laying out in the field at night. The hosts clearly put a lot of thought into every detail, you can tell they really care about your experience. Don't be intimidated by all the rules, they are easy to follow and reasonable (basically boil down to "be conscientious").

Ryan’s land is very private and quiet with the exception of the water running nearby. I ended up getting there very late and could not find it at first. Make sure you download an off-line map and don’t be like me. Once I found my spot I was a happy camper though. I really think the water helped me sleep better than I have in a long time. Highly recommend.

Stayed here for 2 of our three nights. The first night was in the A-frame Alpine Cabin. Both were exceptional. Stepping into the Aristocrat is like going back in time 6 decades, but its in amazing shape. The whole camp is well done, romantic, quiet, and serene. We came in summer, so it was warm enough to take a dip at the top of the waterfall. Do yourself a favor and come here!

Weekend Trip to Radio Ranch Camp
At this location we slept in a tent with a foam mattress setup the same as your bedroom. The accommodations could not have replicated a hotel room any better. You could tell that the hosts put a lot of planning into detail
They even put a packet containing toiletries and bug repellent wrist bands. Showering outside was fun and did not lack hot water. The "kitchen" we did not use but checked it out and found it to be well stocked. The site was clean and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Roomy campsite with a nice view of the Klamath river. Brian was very friendly and helpful. Really beautiful scenic drive to the coast and redwoods. A little out of the way but nearby towns will have gas and staples. No cell signal, starlink works close to the house but not at the campsite--you can park in the driveway to use it to plan out your trip before heading out for the day.

Our kind of place, Madrone, Chinkapin
and other species produced a wonderful fragrance. Great shade trees to sit under that also had a good river view. The site included a fire ring, firewood, and solar lights for the night. There was a path to the river. Private, and our dog loved it. We appreciated the thought behind our site .

Weekend Trip to Radio Ranch Camp
This place is a total gem. The creek scenery and sounds and lush green were incredible. Deeply nourishing. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Like a white cloud. I begged the owner for the links to buy the pillow and comforter lol. There is a cool massage room and had a very relaxing massage. Only thing I would do different is rented a tent closer to the spring because it’s too beautiful not to be close.
