We are a small privately owned small campground (20 sites only) located on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day. We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses, For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing set . We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings). The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing. We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area. We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site. No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore. We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation. We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes. We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash.

Nice tent with. amenities. The organic restaurant in town is much appreciated. Being close to Placerville is great. Bring your friends and family for a weekend with lots of lawn games available. Just be sure to bring extra lights and flashlights.

We really liked this spot! The host was able to accommodate a super last minute booking and is very responsive. The bathroom is awesome (but could use a bit more attention from the cleaning staff) and steam room option is super fun and relaxing. We didn’t get to use the hot tub but other campers seemed to love it, we wish we had another night here to explore more and use all of the amenities! It’s a bit out of the way, but we liked that. There is cell service and WiFi. The single toilet is kind of an issue when there are big groups, tents are a bit small and simple. Not too buggy at the peak of summer. They also have a really beautiful greenhouse garden, not sure if guests are allowed in, but if we had more time we would have asked about it. They allow dogs which is a huge perk as well! Overall good value for the price! We actually didn’t expect the shower & steam room to be so awesome, it was a very pleasant surprise after a night of camping with no showers (never again). Definitely stop by!

Weekend Trip to Roughlands

Camping at Jo's land was a really good experience. Jo's sent us detailed instructions in advance and finding the spot was pretty straight forward. The tent was all setup and clean when we got there, and everything in the bath room was also clean and functional. We had the opportunity to enjoy the hot tub and outdoor shower which are ideally setup on an overhanging deck with a really nice view of the woods. Overall we had a very peaceful and relaxing time at Jo's land, we would definitely go back and recommend it to friends.

Weekend Trip to Roughlands

This tent was lovely. I thought it was going to be to far away from the activities we had planned but it was really not far out of Nevada city. It was perfect. The tent and bedding were great, easily accessible and luxurious, living truly up to the glam camp definition. The bathroom is truly amazing for a camper. It feels like a luxury hotel in the woods. It is nicely designed visually and perfectly designed as far as functionality. I could go on and on but don’t write well. I love the flowers, which turned out to be an unexpected benefit. Flowers left in front of the tent and a beautiful greenhouse / Quonset hut near platform to replenish the bouquet. Going into the greenhouse was awesome as well…it was filled with life. Big chubby bees and different birds… I will definitely return, thank you for creating a wonderful space. And say hello to your adorable pup.

Weekend Trip to Roughlands

I’m so grateful we found Jo’s beautiful camping spot at the last minute. The glamping site is scenic, the platform really allowed us to see the surrounding woods, mountains, and starry night sky. The bathroom was impressive and the shower was nicer than most fancy hotels. Having a hot tub to relax in after a day outside was such a treat. Jo was a great and responsive host. Thank you for creating such a thoughtful, well‑kept place—we can’t wait to return.

Most magical, family experience. The grounds were beautiful. The “little” hike was difficult, and like stepping into a new world. The path was marked very well. The staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

2 nights at Camp Nauvoo

I cannot .... I repeat... CANNOT stress how amazing camp Nauvoo is. Both for just a fun camping weekend and for events. I had my wedding at Camp Nauvoo back in 2023. Now on our anniversary we come back for a camping trip and this is by far my favorite family tradition. Last year when we returned I was very very pregnant and the tents where well set up and very comfortable, I actually slept great. This year I had a 10 month old with me, and again the tents, campsites and communal areas were perfect. As any parent can tell you once your little one is walking and crawling every location outside of your baby proofed home is a lot of "no no no" and "spit that out". The tents where very clean and baby safe. There was the stove that required care when hot but the goes without saying. while we where using a pack and play we brought, Laurie let me know she has all that available at the site if you do not have your own and the lower bunk on the childs bed was a perfect play place as it was low to the ground and my little one loved just climbing up and down it for the majority of the trip. The outside cooking area and fire pit are well maintained and clean, well as clean as dirt can be, and a great place for the little to get nice and dirty while having the time of his life. And of course the bathrooms / showers where well maintained and a very easy place to clean the little one after and before bed. All and all this has been the best camp trip our family has taken.
