Scott and Susanne were so kind and such a pleasure to meet! The property is beautiful and not far from some beaches. They allowed us to say hello and meet all the boarded horses on their property and we were surprised by the beautiful shed Scott built and decorated as well as surprised by the hot water shower! This all really elevated our camping experience and I would 10/10 recommend camping here regardless if you bring horses or just yourself and some friends!

It was a lovely place to stay for the night! Very close to the city and any amenities you need. Elizabeth was very communicative and had no problem with my showing up at 8 pm in the dark. I actually took a wrong turn and someone helped me find the actual parking spot for the nice which was super appreciated. You are very close to the house, like just on a driveway down a slight hill from the main residence but it still felt nice and private. Would definitely car camp here again especially for the price

We loved our stay here!! The property is great and perfect for a quiet night away. Tim was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to help us out with everything we needed! It was such a nice bonus to be able to cook on the an actual stove and have access to a bathroom. Plus the views and the stars were beautiful!! We really enjoyed talking with Tim and so appreciated his clear dedication to making sure we had a great time. Can’t wait to stay again!

A handful of grassy tent sites, partially shaded by jacaranda trees, on a private working horse ranch in the middle of the Tijuana River Valley Regional Park, a couple miles inland from the beach, and a stone's throw away from the border wall with Tijuana. There's a porta-potty as well as a porta-shower, and a 'hangout,' which is a small barn-like structure with a front porch and a sink with running water, and a propane BBQ on a back deck. Hosts Scott and Suzanne were accommodating and friendly.

As Elizabeth stated the incline was steep but nothing the truck and camper couldn't handle. It was nice and quiet. For the most part it felt private. A downside was that the sap that got all over the truck from the tree near by but we can easily wash that off. I liked that Elizabeth was encouraging us to get out and find the whales and dolphins even though we didn't see any. She was still very encouraging. She was happy enough to put her dog in knowing we have one too. I would recommend this if you like someone who let's you do your own thing and doesn't bother you.

We loved D&J Ranch! My son Wes and I spent last weekend camping down at D&J ranch for my birthday and we had an absolute blast! Everyone on the property was respectful, kind and Knowledgeable. We were supposed to just camp on the property but both were able to find riding Lessons with Lauren:m. One of the horse trainers! We will definitely be back 🤙

The site was not what we expected but it was a good experience! The Hosts were extremely welcoming and hospitable and very easygoing! About 20 minutes from downtown San Diego and a very affordable place made our stay very enjoyable!

This is a sweet place for families to stay and enjoy a piece of farm life (animal and farm machinery lovers alike)! The location is so well kept and there’s a lot of intention that is going into this farm. It feels intimate and friendly yet they’re pulling off big things here that left me pretty amazed. The actual camping spot is a single space just off their parking lot, we had a larger rig (35’ motorhome) and fit perfectly and also gave us some decent privacy. There’s a wonderful farm shop with lots of neat goodies, (also a drive thru which you need to be mindful especially w/littles). The petting zoo is well set up; clean, happy, friendly animals and signs posted w/particular animal facts that a homeschool family can really appreciate! It looks like they are pouring love to future generations through this piece of land and I look forward to visiting and seeing what comes from Truly Happy Hens!

Car camped at their rv/tent space. Really clean area and had a bathroom that was indoors. I liked that they have a lot of animals near by to watch! If you don't like animals (goats, donkey, sheep, chicken) and their smells then probably not the best space for you. I have only mild allergies though, so maybe that why I didn't mind it.
I loved that they had an outlet and a picnic table there. Easy going and early morning views are beautiful. Having a farm shop to go to on Saturday was also fun. Allot of good snacks and drinks to buy. It's a great place to stop for the night! Definitely a unique place! Will be back for sure.

We stayed for 3 nights with our 2 horses. Our 3 horse LQ with 12ft short wall fit once unhooked in the space. We actually set up in space 4 as that was easier access to the gate into the stable area. Very clean, secure location with access to trails. Mostly we stayed here so we could leave the horses and visit our grand daughter at San Diego State. It worked well. Hosts were very accommodating.

Weekend Trip to Black Mountain Llama Farm
We had a GREAT one night stay at Black Mountain Llama Farm. Doug was fun to talk to and learn about the animals and farm from. The tent was comfortable and very spacious and had everything we needed. The bathroom and outdoor kitchen area as well as patio with fire pit were setup perfectly and a nice outdoor space to utilize. See all the animals up close (especially the llamas and donkey) were highlights of our stay. Downtown Ramona was just a short drive away to checkout local spots. Leaving with fresh eggs and a vacuum sealed chicken made for great meals once we got home. Will definitely be coming back.
