Swimming in North Fork Tule River, miles of hiking trails on ranch. River Ridge Ranch goes from 1,000' elev. to 3,000' elevation. Hike right on the ranch. We are between Sequoia National Park (about an hour) and the Giant Sequoia National Monument (16 miles to groves up Hwy 190 and no entrance fee).

There are 33 giant sequoia groves in our Southern Region of the Giant Sequoia National Monument, some easily driven to, and some remote. River Ridge Institute, our non-profit, hosts a variety of events for the public.
Please note: you are expected to leave the ranch and kitchen area as you found it, i.e., dishes washed thoroughly and dried and put away, recycling separated from trash, food scraps in compost buckets, sticky marshmallow removed from forks and surfaces (ick!). Thank you.
Enjoy: The Kitchen has a 3-burner cooktop, large fridge, microwave, full dishes and utensils and pots and pans with a big washing area in the back. Propane barbecue grill.. Barbara and I bought it to save it from subdivision and it's now protected by a Conservation Easement and acts as a community center for the arts, music, poetry, gatherings and outdoor education. We welcome dogs and don't charge additional fees for you to bring your dog(s) to camp. The park allows dogs into the park BUT NOT ON ANY TRAILS! (Only the national “forests” allow dogs on trails, not national parks.) PLEASE, let us know you are bringing dog(s), when you request to book. We currently have 2 dogs - our boy Chance is a 6yo Husky Doberman mix; and we rescued and are fostering a (approx 3yo) Great Dane, Winston! Unfortunately, we can NOT dog sit your dog(s) while you are in the park having 2 large male dogs in our house. Also you can not leave the dog alone in the campsite.
We are in Three Rivers - the southern Ash Mountain gateway to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Our town has some wonderfully unique restaurants, creative shops and even a delicious brewery with seating next to the River!
Our hillside property has great Mountain View’s and the driveway turns directly off of Sierra drive, four miles past the town center (3R post office) and just 2 miles from the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks entrance. There’s even a convenience store a quarter mile away! It's conveniently located and easy to find! You can (seasonally) hear the tranqual sounds, or all out roar of the flowing Kaweah river from across the street.
Sorry, there is NO river access from this campsite. You can go to Slick Rock Recreation area, Lake Kaweah or into the parks to swim, boat, fish and more. Lake Kaweah is about 8 miles away. You drive around it after you top the hill entering Three Rivers.
My wife Elizabeth and I bought our log home in 2015 and we have been dreaming and adding here ever since! Our dog Chance chases all the fun wildlife off of our property. In addition to deer, we have seen fox, bob cats, an Ocelot, too many coyotes, wild turkeys and bear crossing an animal highway along our upper hillside property line. Hawks, hummingbirds, quail, blue birds, woodpeckers and yellow bellied finches are regularly seen here as well. We have had turkey families coming through frequently recently! Owls have been heard; but not seen.
We love our country home and mountain views, and look forward to sharing them with you!

While on a family backpacking excursion through Sequoia King’s Canyon National Park, and the surrounding area, we came across this charming campground. A long-forgotten chapel in the mountains that was formerly a summer camp.
From here, a short 15-minute drive will take you directly to the main entrance of Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park for access to the Giant Sequoias at Grant Grove and the Grant Grove Village. This campsite was great! Clean bathroom and shower! For the price I was more than happy with the quality of the campsite. Biggest downside is being 2 hours from Furnace Creek/Visitors Center.
It currently only has one bathroom which is a bit tough with many other campers but he’s about to install another one! Campsites are a bit closer together but I personally find that really comforting. The Lake, BBQ’s, dock spaces were awesome! Was so kind and swift to responding to any messages and kept the bathroom very clean! You are allowed to use any of the kayaking and paddle boarding equipment and BBQs with propane already there! Great for the price but still in need of some campsite work. Other than that Nacho is super kind and has an awesome campground in the making! Thank you Nacho!

Great last minute stop! Wonderful views, full hookups and plenty of amazing places to sit outside (shade and sun) also the paddle boards and kayaks were a great touch! Would recommend! Nacho is also very welcoming and escorted us to our spot!

I had the wonderful opportunity to tent camp here in Lake Olancha with 9 of my friends! We rented three sites and had enough room for all of our tents, cars, and cook stove set ups! This is an amazing location as you can easily drive to Death Valley early to beat the heat and come back to a serene lake to cool off in! I would absolutely recommend staying here!

I loved this campsite because we could choose to have a lake view or not and the bathroom/shower wasn’t too far away. Also, the campsite had a picnic table and a spot for campfire which is allowed and the dock was close so I really enjoyed sitting there watching the ducks fish for food.

This is a very cool piece of property. The location itself is close to town for easy ice runs, but you feel like you’re away from everything , but still have a bar or two on the cell. The sites are each unique and hold their own identity and the kitchen is well stocked, just bring food. The outdoor shower is a MUST try, perfect for rinsing off after a hike.
John was very easy to work with and made me feel welcome. I will definitely be back.

The hosts are the most helpful people ever! My wife, our pup, and I got caught in a really bad ditch only 500 feet away from the campsite and the car wasn’t able to get out.
Long story short they immediately contacted their neighbor to help pull us out and helped keep up spirits up! It’s all part of the adventure!
It’s a very serene area, great spots to walk, sketch, and just disconnect from everything for a bit. We absolutely recommend them!

Camping at Creepside at John's site was lovely. My partner and I bbq'd there at the fire pit, and there's also a full kitchen with a gas BBQ and stove. The camp is surrounded by trees and has really great views of the stars. The spot also isn't that far from Kernville if you want to go into a small town. I loved hearing the river right outside our camp, so if you like natural white noise when you sleep, I would definitely choose that camp.

The campground was very peaceful. Nacho assisted me in getting a spot closer to the restroom. The tent campsites are a it close together but the tv ones are more spacious.
They have gas grills and areas to hag out near the small pond. I enjoyed grilling my dinner and eating as the sun went down.

Weekend Trip to Spirit Walk - Private Retreat
The Playhouse was a sweet and cozy stay on John’s land. This was my first time in the Playhouse, having previously camped at the group site. The amenities are clean, easy to use, and well constructed. The Playhouse came well stocked. The views from each window inside the Playhouse were gorgeous, if you’re looking for a relaxing weekend inside.
The shared kitchen is a fun space to commingle with other campers, if desired. We were able to check out the local creek that runs through his property, and have a lovely breakfast. I’d highly recommend visiting ant part of John’s property.

Stayed here with my small trailer and it was a great experience. Staff were super friendly and the views were great. Water and power easily accessible at the site and the grounds were well maintained and clean. Alabama hills isn’t too far of a drive if you want to get some hiking in and if you want to get to Death Valley it’s about an hour to an hour and a half. Took me 2ish hours to reach bad water basin which is deep in the park but there are closer attractions within the park. Over great experience even if you just want a place to rest and relax.

This place is wild in the best possible way. Set up in the hills on your way to Sequoia National Park, Brewster has built a wonderful western-themed site that feels like it’s something out of an old cowboy film set in a stunningly beautiful area. With the exception of a hot shower for winter months (there is a cute cold shower for hotter days), we had all the comforts one needs to enjoy their stay. Flush toilet in the very clean “outhouse”, pristine BBQs, a covered picnic area, a double hammock! I mean we were set! Recycling and garbage also provided. We only stayed one night but we would definitely return to the corral campsite! Thanks so much Brewster. We loved Corral campsite!
