We have now added also an attached kitchen and bathroom to the yurt so we have an indoor shower and full kitchen! There is a solar system so you have access to electricity and wifi. The drive from Willits is 25 minutes, with only the last 5 minutes on a dirt road.  You can do the drive in any car, unless the occasional snowy conditions.  There is plenty of parking next to the yurt for easy unpacking.. To access the coast you do have to go back through Willits and use highway 20.

There is an ADU (1bed/kitchen/1 bath) above the adjacent garage that a caretaker stays in from time to time, but it can be vacated for parties who wish to also rent that studio apartment. It has its own entrance. Very quiet here. Almost no road noise. No light pollution. Milkly way...The size of some of the ancient trees... Great place. The owner was sweet. They have a sweet tire swing. A place to cook. A sink and well water. Portable potties. There are off leash dogs but theyre super cute and sweet a little shy. I brought my dogs with no issues. The rock and river is walking distance and easy to get to. We were very happy. The camping spots are all very close together but we went and no one else was there. When you get there and cross the bridge go straight and to the left. #6 is the nicest spot. With a already nice tent available. And a deck. We had the whole thing to ourselves and it was lovely. Right on the north side of the highway. A big space to pull off and right down there. I really enjoyed my time there.

This place is incredible. The ambiance created by the earthy decor inside and out was relaxing, refreshing and so connected to nature. They brought the outside in and made the inside blend seamlessly with it. Beautiful properties have an irresistible charm to them. The hot tub right off my room was without a doubt the most pampered I have been in a long while. The accoutrements were perfect for any anticipated need. I loved experiencing this space and I would recommend it without hesitation.

3 nights at Lost Coast, Oceanview Retreat

I love this place, such beautiful grounds and the view with the hot tub was incredible. The house was cozy and there were so many places to lounge and enjoy the view. The dog loved this place as well; so much to smell and I was so happy to have a place for her to enjoy and not worry about her escaping. The peace and quiet was incomparable; I cannot wait to go back. Thank you for such a peaceful and comfortable experience.

Weekend Trip to Trinity Outpost Wilderness Resort

My boyfriend and I stayed at Trinity Wilderness Outpost on Labor Day weekend and had a great time. The campsites were spacious and beautiful. The hosts were super helpful and friendly. It was nice having flushing toilets, a small sink area to do dishes, and potable water. We did this trip by ourselves, but would totally come back with a bigger group after seeing the size of the campsites. The drive wasn't bad at all, and totally worth it. We love the early check in and check out, which made us feel relaxed about our timing and not on a rigid schedule.

Cody & Kerry were amazing hosts. We drank fresh mountain spring water each day courtesy of the taps on the campgrounds. The creeks provided seemingly endless opportunities to explore. I'll miss falling asleep under the stars listening to the sounds of the stream next to our tent. I'll be back!

Weekend Trip to Red Wing Ranch

We loved tent camping at the Hillside site! It was extremely quiet and private and the views were incredible. The last 20ish minutes of the drive up to the property were on a dirt/gravel road and the Hillside site was doable in a large 4WD but felt like off-roading. The pond wasn’t swimmable but fishing from the canoe they have was so fun. There is no shade at the Hillside site past mid-morning so we’d highly suggest a shade tent or umbrella of some kind. I believe they had a couple umbrellas but there wasn’t a base for one at the Hillside site. Wasps were also an issue when cooking, but that wasn’t surprising this time of year. The hosts were incredibly kind and generous. We learned so much from them and even received recommendations for local spots to visit, eat and swim. There is no spigot or hose for water, just a couple jugs available which ran out when the other family camping finished them off. They weren’t replaced for our second night there and the sink with running water didn’t work the few times we tried to do dishes, but luckily we brought our own water and had enough for the rest of the weekend. Overall, we would definitely recommend for a peaceful weekend and great place to call home for the night after exploring the surrounding towns and nature. It’s clear they put a lot of love and effort into their property and educating the community and are ironing out kinks as they continue to grow the space!

Weekend Trip to The Hideaway at Hole In The Wall

My friends and I had a blast here! While we never met Thomas during our stay, Lars and Wild Man took great care of us and made sure we were situated and had what we needed. Lars walked us all the way to the Hole in the Wall, which was really kind and he’s a great tour guide. Garden Side is a great spot for a group. It does get a lot of sun and gets toasty so bring some sun protection! This camp spot was queer and tripping friendly. We felt really welcome and the vibes were so relaxed. Just make sure if you’re coming in an RV or sprinter that you confirm the width of your vehicle. The bridge is tight, I barely cleared it in my sprinter van. This spot represents what hip camp is all about & I will absolutely come back!
