Have it all and relax at our forest glen located in Southern Humboldt 5 miles up private dirt road (2 wheel drive OK- but sports car height is not good ( IE not a BMW or Tesla)--higher clearance is best.) Our land is part of an old collectively owned by "back to the landers" group from the 70's. The parcel is over 500 acres, but our portion is about 40 acres. There is a large deepwater pond with a rowboat (and frogs) orchard, stream, and many hiking trails my husband created and dirt roads winding through the property.

Enjoy the birds in the morning and frogs on the pond at night from your well equipped tent with queen mattress and comfy comforters, sitting space, and wood counter for food prep. ( propane ok) No fires allowed at site but enjoy the large communal fire pit and terrace steps away.
Our deep water pond (15 ft) is FULL and ready for warm summer swims.
Wifi and electric for charging and an electric water kettle for coffee making is available at the communal space. EV charging is possible but slow off of our solar panels.
Hiking trails on our 500 acre property and Lost Coast Trail at Shelter Cove Black Sands beach is 1 hour away. Ave of the Giants is 45 minutes away. We encourage 2 night stays as it is a bit of a trek to get here. Your hosts have everything you might need ( cooking wise) and can arrange for cooking equipment and utensils. Need Paella pans? Paella is our passion and we can offer a Paella Cookout customized to your dietary needs for an additional fee.
We are 5 miles up a private dirt road ( 2 wheel drive is ok but caution to lower clearance vehicles)
You will be deep in the relaxing forest. The 16 foot bell tent is quite large and can accommodate 2 more travelers. However they would need to provide sleeping bags and mats. Children under 10 not recommended
The Chimes tent is slightly smaller 13 foot bell tent set on a platform 6 feet off the ground-- literally in the trees!

Weekend Trip to Eel River Escape
Such a special place to be. The homey feeling of an Airbnb with the privacy and nature of a good camping adventure. River access is a little bit of a trek to get to so just something to note if you might not be as able bodied but sooo worth it if you can- we essentially had that section of the river completely to ourselves. Tent was well kept and everything was well maintained. Would definitely recommend and will probably be back at some point!

We loved our night at the bell tent by the river. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. Season was a warm, helpful host. It was very hot when we arrived and she recommended some Eel River splash and swim locations based on my son's swimming ability. The showers were warm and well kept. Wifi was strong enough for video chats wih family. The portapotties were clean but nothing can change the odor in 100 degree heat. Plus the dog and cat were so cute and sweet. We plan to come back.

Weekend Trip to Lost Coast Basecamp
We hiked the Lost Coast Trail and stayed at Sinkyone Camp the night before our departure. The accommodations were great. Cots were comfortable. The shower house and flush toilet were much appreciated.
The area is located at the top of the mountain with a great view of the sky. I saw the Milky Way for the first time. I'm 61 years old. It's something I will always remember.

Allan and Blu were an amazing host. Very friendly. Allan was in touch even before we were their guest. Allan showed us around as we arrived on our motorcycles and even helped us with extra sleeping bags as it was cold and windy. We enjoyed sharing stories with him over our morning coffee. This place is really a hidden gem. The views are stunning

As the name implies, this was a great base camp before our Lost Coast hike. The bell tents were perfect for getting our gear sorted. Plus it was nice to start the adventure on a cot rather than the ground. The views were stunning! There’s nothing like waking to a mountain sunrise. You feel like you’re a million miles away. Alan was an excellent camp host. He kept on communication with us before we arrived to ensure he was around to show us the ropes. Everything is off-grid, so there were a few things to learn. He made sure we had a nice fire later in the evening which was the perfect end to our day. Blu’s camp dog Ruka did her rounds to “run off the bears and mountain lions” according to Alan, but she had plenty of time for scratches and belly rubs. Things to note, there isn’t a lot of shade during the day, and the wind gets quite chilly and sometimes fierce at night. Definitely recommend layers! The directions weren’t terribly hard to follow, though GPS won’t get you all the way, so definitely screenshot or download their written directions beforehand. We would absolutely stay here again!

1 night at Lost Coast Basecamp
Lost Coast Basecamp was the perfect place to start our Lost Coast adventure! It’s about 25 minutes from Black Sands Beach where the shuttle picks up. Alan greeted us at the site and gave us a tour and orientation to the space. He was very accommodating and helped us feel right at home! All of the facilities at basecamp were super clean, the kitchen was well stocked, and the cots in the bell tents were comfortable! We wished we could have stayed for longer. And the view is unbelievable!

Weekend Trip to Radio Ranch Camp
At this location we slept in a tent with a foam mattress setup the same as your bedroom. The accommodations could not have replicated a hotel room any better. You could tell that the hosts put a lot of planning into detail
They even put a packet containing toiletries and bug repellent wrist bands. Showering outside was fun and did not lack hot water. The "kitchen" we did not use but checked it out and found it to be well stocked. The site was clean and I would not hesitate to stay there again.
