3 nights at Kingsfoil Hollow

Lovely, quiet spot up in a canyon. Christine was very accommodating and directions to the site were clear. Wifi was strong, and bonus points for the 2 sweet, friendly kitties that frequented the site! They plan to separate the composting toilets, which I think will improve privacy. Site 1 is a little flatter and prettier, Site 2 is bigger with more morning shade. Both offer enough room to spread out, but not a lot of privacy between. A lot of animals frequent the wash behind the site, particularly at night. Saw coyotes and deer, the coyotes kept their distance. Sprinkler noise at night and nearby roosters at dawn took some getting used to, but were fine after the first night. Bring ear plugs if you are sensitive.

1 night at Kingsfoil Hollow

Beautiful house and property surrounded by trees and greenery located at the base of a huge mountain. My 7yr old was absolutely stoked hanging out with their two super friendly kitty cats. There’s all kinds of cute little apple/berry picking places/pie shops etc just down the street. Going to big bear Coming from SD, this is a good resting spot if you want to break up the drive and check out something different, 1hr to big bear.

Weekend Trip to Big Bear Foothill Desert Camp

Jossue’s land is great, with beautiful views of the stars during the night and the surrounding mountains during the day. Campground is exactly as described. Very secluded and quiet, which is what we were looking for. The site was very clean, despite a beer can here and there from prior campers. Nothing that interfered with our enjoyment. Jossue was amazing, with easy to follow directions and helpful tips about the weather. We would absolutely camp here again.

Weekend Trip to Holcomb Valley Ranch

We had a great time camping out at Holcomb! Our campsite was huge (we stayed at F5), it was quiet, serene and surrounded by trees. The Campsites are well spread out so the sites were relatively private which was nice. You have access to porta-potties nearby and a hose where you can wash dishes. The shower facilities and trash cans are located in a different area of the campground though so you will need to drive (and go through 2 gates) to get there. The Forest Service road to Holcomb can be a bit busy and it does take a solid 20 minutes to get to the campground from Town. There is no signal at the campground (or at least at the spot we stayed / we have AT&T but had our Starlink so we were fine.) Overall we had a good time and would come back (most likely with friends to help offset the cost of the site which is a bit steep at $85/night).

6 nights at Get Lost Inn - Cabin Rentals

We loved Angels Nest there was a lot of room and the game room is perfect for kids of all ages especially teens. It was very clean and tidy and has all the essential kitchen appliances and other basic amenitirs such as washer and dryer.

Weekend Trip to Holcomb Valley Ranch

Beautiful spacious sites. Nice staff and worked with me when I made a mistake on my booking dates. I was able to drive up the road with my VW hatchback. It was dry. Had it been wet or raining I would def recommend higher clearance vehicle or 4x4. Def returning. Already booked again.

We had a nice weekend at Holcomb ranch. The property is kept up very well, safe, clean and peaceful. At check in, Ed called ahead with detailed directions to the site. There are markers on the trees identifying the sites making it super easy. The sites are large enough to have a nice distance from neighbors. Overall, we had a great time and will be back.

This was a cool little place to stay. Very secluded and lots to explore. Water and Ice provided which was great. My dog had a blast off leash..

Such a wonderful second stay at Holcomb Valley ranch! Beautiful views into the meadow, quiet campsite and with great amenities of outhouses, potable water, trash dump, and showers (although we didn’t use these). We really enjoyed our stay :)

2 nights at Get Lost Inn - Cabin Rentals

Me and my 2 kids loved our stay at the Dragonfly Inn. The views from the house were absolutely stunning. My kids loved the loft, they turned it into a hideout for themselves during our stay. Everything was very neat and clean. Loved everything about the inn. Using the fire-pit, and stargazing at night was the highlight of the stay. Martin was a great host. He was very attentive to all our requests and responded to our inquiries very promptly. Already recommended to few other friends!

Had a wonderful stay, besides the wind it's was amazing! Definitely going back soon! The host was helpful and responsive. It was my first time camping in the desert and my boyfriend's first time camping ever and we both had a wonderful experience here.

2 nights at Get Lost Inn - Cabin Rentals

My family had a wonderful mid week getaway to Green Valley Lake. Get Lost Inn’s cabin was great with three different floors. The kids loved having their own space. We did a little day trip to Lake Arrowhead, swam in the Green Valley Lake, did a little fishing, and played some board games. All in all a fantastic time.

Weekend Trip to Bowen Ranch Deep Creek Hot Springs

We went in mid June and it was gorgeous! Still got pretty cold at night as you are practically in the desert so bring a good quilt or blankets. The hike to the hot springs is amazing with some cool views. I would say its a pretty easy hike for experienced hikers but medium to hard for beginners. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and extra bags - I saw trash along the hike and down at the hot springs which is so sad to see and ruins it for others - Overall, it was a beautiful spot and much cleaner than other hot springs I've been to. Leave it better!! Leave No Trace!!

1 night at Mountain Shadow Hideaway

We arrived late but they were more than welcoming! Waited at the gate for us to arrive and even gave us some souvenirs to take home introduced our daughter to their pigs! Jacob made sure we felt safe and comfortable and just over all a really good night!

Centered around a 100+ acre meadow, filled with horses in summer months and surrounded by thousands of acres of mountainous National Forest. Just 15 minutes from Big Bear Lake - a large recreational, fresh-water lake for summer swimming, boating, skiing, fishing and other super fun water activities. The Ranch feels remote and private. Yet is only four miles to the town of Big Bear with shopping and restaurants. Also in close proximity to incredible rock climbing at the Pinnacles, seemingly endless hiking and biking and some pretty epic off-roading 4x4 trails. Each campsite is approximately one acre, and generously-distanced from neighboring campers. Amenities include its own fire ring with grilling grate and picnic table(s). The campsites are both cozy enough for 2 or spacious enough for large groups and can easily accommodate a mix of RVs, camper vans and tents. From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails. After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow. The evenings blanket guests with a sea of stars. Toast up some s’mores and warm up some hot-coco over a beautiful, crackling campfire. Remember the s’mores and always follow the “Leave No Trace” principles. There are large trash bins by the entrance. We look forward to hosting you at the Ranch! Please note: OHV’s are allowed. They count as one of the allowed vehicles per campsite and must adhere to the speed limit (10mph) and remain on established camp roads while on the property. They may not be driven from 8pm to 8am. Please research which of the surrounding forestry roads allow for your vehicle type to be driven on. Campsites on the west side of the meadow (F, G & H sites) are partially accessed by a forestry road that does not allow dirt bikes. This was originally a Girl Scout camp called Singing Pines back in the 30’s. You’ll see as you roam around some of the original buildings and structures. It hasn’t been in operation as a Girl Scout camp for over 30 years. The neighbor camp bought the lease but haven’t had the funds to revive it yet. DIRECTIONS: Take Exit for Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) from the 210 Go North, up the mountain for 29 miles Turn left on Sulpher Springs Rd Go about a mile and you will see a Singing Pines sign up on a hill on the right side. There is a white gate which is usually open but if it's closed go ahead and open it. Go down that driveway about a mile and turn left at the fork. Outside is a private meadow with a short walk to a small lake. You can bring your fishing gear. It's stocked with Bass and Bluegill. Outside the Skoolie is a picnic table, fire pit (firewood $10 a bundle) and a hammock. Up the hill, a very short walk is the private campground toilet facility. This is not shared with anyone else. No cell phone reception no linens bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. You can charge your phone in the Skoolie for a sunrise alarm or just to take pictures.
