In 2019, my husband and I acquired and renovated some of the original Miramichee stone cabins. We are located on the Southfork River, in Hardy, Arkansas. Batesville Mountain Campground is about "getting away from it all" with nary another soul in sight. If you have qualms about being alone in the woods -- this is NOT the place!!
There are only four campsites on the entire property so you are always out of sight and hearing of any -- you can even upgrade for $10/night and have the entire property all to yourself! It is that special!! And absolutely jaw-dropping beautiful! Sparky, the stone mason who quarried, cut and stacked every rock on every trail within the campground, has created a wondrous place to come camp and explore. We are also now restoring Sparky's original homestead -- the one room Green Cabin is soon to be our new "romantic retreat" with outdoor kitchen and shower, chicken house, and two-hole traditional Swedish "utedass"–or privy. As to where to sleep ... well you may lay your head anywhere -- under the stars, atop a pinnacle, out in a field or sheltered in the woods by the river.
BUT this is "DIY" camping -- as we have day jobs we are unable to cater to your every whim and you will have to be able to "depend on yourself" to negotiate the campground, set up your campsite and secure needed resources. Thus if there is any concern or question you really should stay at one of our other properties either Camp Toasty or Pinnacle Springs Recreational Camp. PLEASE -- we don't want to be bothered with phone calls and text messages -- not here anyway.
Trails from Sparky's Cabin lead in all directions offer access to hiking, swimming, fishing and paddling. You'll find no better place to "forest bathe".

The property has history - you can see remnants of the Lynch in-ground waterslide locals enjoyed in the 70s winding down our ridge. The Baker Lodge was built on the slide entrance, with our sleeping cabins overlooking both the trees down the ridge and the slide. The cottage has two double beds in the lower level bedroom as well as a queen bed in the upper level loft. A futon couch in the living room folds out to a double bed, as needed. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and cooking utensils of every kind. Both the stove and refrigerator are full size, there is also a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and the kitchen table seats six. Bed linens, towels, pillows and blankets are supplied. The bath is a tub and shower combination. There is a charcoal grill in the yard, but please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid. We absolutely loved our stay here! I noticed that some older reviews seemed to be from people expecting more of a resort-style experience, so I wanted to share our perspective. This is a beautiful, rustic, country camping experience—and that’s exactly what made it so special to us.
The campsite is nestled in the mountains with beautiful scenery, peaceful surroundings, and several animals that added to the charm of the whole experience. The property is run by a wonderful mother-and-daughter team who made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. Their hospitality truly made our stay feel personal and special.
There is also a bakery on-site with homemade baked goods and other items for sale, which was such a fun bonus. Everything felt genuine, peaceful, and full of character.
We absolutely loved our time here and would gladly come back. If you’re looking for a rustic, peaceful country getaway surrounded by nature—not a luxury resort—this place is wonderful. We felt welcomed, enjoyed the beautiful mountain setting, and truly loved our experience!

This place is very cool. If you are a fan of Hip-Camps that are located off the beaten trail this one is totally for you! It had a fridge and freezer, washer and dryer and two AC units. The outside is misleading because the inside is really nice. There is a good chance I'll be staying here again! The only thing id say that is not a positive in the long drive from the road to the cabin itself thats gravel, dirt and grass. Not ideal of motorcycles. But id still give it a high rating!

a magical spot in the woods with a great tent and very comfortable bed. if you want to feel comfortable, but still be camping this is the place. the cooking fire pit is very well crafted and makes cooking over the fire easy. it has well made solar lighted walking paths to both a very nice bathroom with flushing toilet and a pond that provides great frog song that blends with so many birds singing we never turned on our music once! nearby enjoy hiking and views at grand gulf state park and swimming at many local swimming holes along the Spring River. a great choice for your next camping vacation. choose this spot and begin to relax :)

Weekend Trip to The Ridge at Buffalo Point
We had so much fun at this cabin! It’s the right size for a weekend getaway with a bed, small Roku TV, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, grill, and fire pit. The private bathhouse was a short walk from the cabin and was nice after a long day of outdoor activities. The property also offers a disc golf totem, swings, and open area to run around in. The location is also really close to the lower area of the Buffalo River. Easily a 5-10 minute drive to anything. Also, loved having Wild Bills, a gas station and convenience store, a short walk away for anything we forgot or needed. Loved meeting the gray kitty on the property. He was an absolute sweetheart and loved pets. Would definitely stay here again!!

We did not go to Buffalo River. We were looking for somewhere quiet to enjoy a few days and this was a perfect getaway. The cabin was very cute and clean and had everything we needed and then some. Weekend Trip to Rocky Creek Ranch Voted Best In St.
This is by far one of my favorite hipcamp locations we have visted. She is an absolutely lovely wholesome women. She wait for us at the gate gave us a quick little tour, she had our firepit startedup ready for us. The pictures do no justice for the view of the lake. Your are up on a hill over the lake. It's completely quiet and peaceful. Plenty of activities to do near by. She has kayaks and paddle boards to use. Please tip her. She works very hard to make sure your comfortable.

Weekend Trip to Camp Miramichee Falls
Thank you! We had a great time! Everything was as described. Cabin was very clean with some cute special touches. I enjoyed learning about the history of the area. The swimming area was clean, cool, and clear. Perfect for just chilling with a book and a beer. We had the area to ourselves for a bit, which was very nice. We also had full use of the kayaks and floats, which was very convenient. Really nice and enjoyable stay with very hospitable hosts.
