It’s awesome here when the dogwood and redbuds bloom in the spring, and when the leaves change color in the fall. The St. Francis National Forest is more diverse, with the St. Francis and Mississippi Rivers running through it, as well as lakes, valleys, and tons of wildlife. It’s the only place in the national forest system where you can access the Mississippi River from the shore, so that right there is a must do! The whole expanse of land is filled with multi-use trails, hundreds of campsites, spots for swimming, fishing, and boating, and even some amazing caves to explore. Welcome to Ouachita River Haven! Nestled between Ouachita National Forest property and the Ouachita River, our Haven is a peaceful little slice of nature for you to take a break, catch your breath, and enjoy the outdoors! Property has 1000 ft of river access, with canoe & kayak docks, swimming hole, volleyball and tetherball, horseshoes, swings. We offer hiking, mountain biking, and river shuttles as well as canoe/kayak/tube rentals and shuttles. Such trips should be reserved in advance by messaging us or visiting our website. Our office sells firewood for $5/bundle. We also have a small array of custom woodwork items from our woodshop, freeze dried snacks and hiking restocks, food from local vendors, and souvenirs! All primitive sites have a picnic table, fire ring, and campfire grill grate. Electric sites are 30 amp, if using for tent camping you will need a 3-prong converter (we can rent one to you for $5 if you do not have your own). RV/Camper MAXIMUM length is 28 feet. Tipi rental is a camping experience only; it does not have electricity, a/c or heat. There are solar lights inside. We do have a Queen Sized outdoor bed and bedding available to add to rental for $10/night. Bunkhouse is a camping experience - bring your own bedding. A/C, heat, electricity, TV & DVDs, Microwave, and Mini fridge are inside. Guests use campground restrooms Campground restrooms and showers are a short walk from campgrounds. We are pet-friendly. Dogs must be leashed at all times that they are not in a tent or camper and friendly with other dogs and people. There is a working dog on the property-he is friendly with all people and dogs.

We are also located near the Wolf Pen Gap ATV trails, and guests can ride directly to the trails from their RV site. Local rental companies are available for anyone not wanting to bring their own ATVs. There is plenty of overflow parking for trailers for those that do bring their own on the property as well.

The Lake Wilson Retreat is our 35 acre private property, peacefully situated atop the wooded mountains near Lake Wilson. On the property is The Shed, a simple campsite where you'll find a fire pit and a simple sleeping cabin with a full size platform bed frame and wood stove to enjoy. An ideal place to clear your head. The Shed comfortably sleep two (2) adults, but you are welcome to bring tents for up to to four (4) other additional campers. We provide a full size platform bed frame, but guests will need to bring their own blow up mattress or camp pads for comfort — as well as all bedding / pillows / towels. About Lake Wilson: Lake Wilson Park is comprised of approximately 320 acres of land with 28 acres of water. Park visitors can experience boating, fishing, nature watching, picnicking, and hiking. The park is also an off-leash dog park with both sunny and shady places for pets to enjoy. The nature trail runs almost entirely through the woods with views of the lake and ancient rock formations. There are also lots of beautiful wildflowers in the spring!

We absolutely loved and enjoyed our stay here. The bathrooms and showers were so clean. The cabin was clean and comfortable. There was a pool on the site that was maintained extremely well. The Shed is an amazing place to stay! We knew there was a chance for wet weather, so we didn't want to camp in a tent. The cabin was the perfect dry and cozy solution for us. When it wasn't raining, we had fun exploring, going down to Lake Wilson, and cooking over a fire. Jeremy was very responsive to messages and made us feel welcome. 10/10 Would absolutely stay here again. (Just a heads up: if it is rainy at all, the bridge on the short path between the cabin and parking area does get slippery, as does the porch. If you wear shoes with good tread, it's not an issue.)

Nice little sleeping cabin. Perfect if your wanting somewhere to lay your head for the night. Mini Fridge, microwave, and AC. No cook stove, but there is a camping grill located just outside. Nice little picnic table just outside also. A little close to the road, but all in all a good stay.

1 night at Lake Wilson Retreat 🌲

Thanks Jeremy! Beautiful little camping spot tucked away in the trees. We setup a tent for kids by the brook not far from the shed. Setup had everything we needed, and having the lake just a short hike away was added bonus. Greatly appreciate the stacked firewood and your excellent communication prior to arrival. Beautiful spot...Smith family recommends it!

Weekend Trip to Lake Wilson Retreat 🌲

Excellent weekend getaway. The lot is tucked just far enough into the woods to keep you isolated and give you a wonderful view. The building was clean and just spacious enough for two people. Would highly recommend.
