Whether you’re here to swim, paddle, fish, hike, or simply relax in a hammock with a good book, this is your chance to reconnect with nature — and each other. While we are confidant you will enjoy your time on the Cadron and its sunlit bluffs, crystal-clear streams and nature's marvelous works and wonders please understand you'll be camping at the edge of a wilderness and we have day jobs. In other words, you are pretty well on your own upon arrival. Think DIY! You have many camping options: 1) Streamside Camping: Secluded tent sites with easy access to Cadron creek – many with picnic tables, fire pits, grills, and lamp posts 2) RV Camping: Limited sites, pull-through, up to 30 feet, level, hard gravel base, with basic hookups (electricity, no full sewer) 3) Dispersed Camping: Outside of the campground there are nearly 100 acres available for camping. If you are up to roughing it a bit we'll point you in the right direction. 3) Cabins and Glamping: For those that like to settle right in we have rustic cabins and campers with modern comforts (some include AC, heating, and kitchenettes) Activities and amenities include swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, a 6-acre foraging field and 9-hole Frisbee golf course, bouldering, zen/meditation deck, climbing, psicobloc and more outdoor pursuits than one has time to pursue. Children can enjoy the Ninja rope course with zipline, slackline, and rope swing and petting Biscuit and Buttercup – our favored Kunekune forest pigs. And, Woolly Hollow State Park, Cove Creek Natural Heritage Area, Persimmon Ridge Resort and Greer's Ferry Lake are a short drive away. We invite you to our little piece of paradise on the Cadron. Bathe in a forest of tall standing pines and oak trees. Sit on the bank of a cascading stream. Embrace nature. We lie at the edge of civilization but we have good cell phone service and water hydrants and electrical outlets for recharging phones. And from March through November hot water showers are freely available. Our place is a bit rough, rugged and unruly yet we call it home -- a place where everyone regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, political views, religion, or culture is welcomed to come enjoy nature's marvelous works and wonders. Nestled between Ouachita National Forest property and the Ouachita River, our Haven is a peaceful little slice of nature for you to take a break, catch your breath, and enjoy the outdoors! Electric sites are 30 amp, if using for tent camping you will need a 3-prong converter (we can rent one to you for $5 if you do not have your own). RV/Camper MAXIMUM length is 28 feet. Tipi rental is a camping experience only; it does not have electricity, a/c or heat. There are solar lights inside. We do have a Queen Sized outdoor bed and bedding available to add to rental for $10/night. Bunkhouse is a camping experience - bring your own bedding. A/C, heat, electricity, TV & DVDs, Microwave, and Mini fridge are inside. Guests use campground restrooms Campground restrooms and showers are a short walk from campgrounds. We are pet-friendly. Dogs must be leashed at all times that they are not in a tent or camper and friendly with other dogs and people. There is a working dog on the property-he is friendly with all people and dogs.

Batesville Mountain Campground is about "getting away from it all" with nary another soul in sight. If you have qualms about being alone in the woods -- this is NOT the place!! There are only four campsites on the entire property so you are always out of sight and hearing of any -- you can even upgrade for $10/night and have the entire property all to yourself! It is that special!! And absolutely jaw-dropping beautiful! Sparky, the stone mason who quarried, cut and stacked every rock on every trail within the campground, has created a wondrous place to come camp and explore. We are also now restoring Sparky's original homestead -- the one room Green Cabin is soon to be our new "romantic retreat" with outdoor kitchen and shower, chicken house, and two-hole traditional Swedish "utedass"–or privy. As to where to sleep ... well you may lay your head anywhere -- under the stars, atop a pinnacle, out in a field or sheltered in the woods by the river. BUT this is "DIY" camping -- as we have day jobs we are unable to cater to your every whim and you will have to be able to "depend on yourself" to negotiate the campground, set up your campsite and secure needed resources. Thus if there is any concern or question you really should stay at one of our other properties either Camp Toasty or Pinnacle Springs Recreational Camp. PLEASE -- we don't want to be bothered with phone calls and text messages -- not here anyway. Trails from Sparky's Cabin lead in all directions offer access to hiking, swimming, fishing and paddling. You'll find no better place to "forest bathe".

Weekend Trip to Barker Gap

We have such a great time staying in the cub cabin. It was two adults and two kids and two dogs, and we made the Space work really well. We created lots of memories by the fire and explored the area with some hiking. The hosts, Brian and Misty, were very responsive and even came down to meet us one morning. We would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Ridgetop A-Frame Offgrid

We had such a nice stay at this cozy little A-frame cabin. It felt really private and peaceful, with nothing around but the woods, which made it feel like a true escape. The cabin itself is unique, full of character, and very well maintained, and we loved the view surrounded by trees with an open view of the sky in the distance. There’s no power, which we actually enjoyed because it made the experience feel even more connected to nature. There were a few small electric lights available, but I’d still recommend bringing your own power banks or extra lights if needed. One thing to keep in mind is the final stretch of road to the cabin, which is quite steep and rough, so a 4x4 or AWD vehicle is definitely recommended. Overall, it was a peaceful and memorable getaway, and we’d happily stay here again.

My Wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Arkansas River Cabin! The cabin was clean and well stocked. It had everything we needed flduring our stay. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing at the end of the day! The area around the hot tub is a bit treacherous to walk in flip flops due to the rocky terrain surrounding it and the paving stones shifting underfoot, so just be mindful when you’re walking around it. We did notice large black ants a few other insects crawling around the floor randomly throughout the day. Fortunately they didn’t really bother us. The mattress is a bit thin and slightly too stiff. I slept alright on it, but it was more uncomfortable for my wife. Overall, it was a great time and worth the price!

Weekend Trip to Ridgetop A-Frame Offgrid

Wonderful get away in the woods. Beautiful views that can be enjoyed from several spots created outdoors, as well as enjoying through huge glass panel windows from inside. Craftsmanship of recycled materials creates a deeper connection to being in the wilderness. My AWD Honda pilot did not make the switchbacks smoothly- next time I’ll prepare to hike in- but I hope to have many returns.

If you're looking for some peace and quiet and not afraid to get in touch with nature, this is the place to be. If you're a "glamper" you should probably not stay here. The campground is clean (dirt and bugs are considered normal) and well maintained. We stayed at the cabin and it was everything we needed. Will definitely come back, if given the chance.

A fantastic place to get away! Brian and his wife are fantastic people who care about what they do. Us, coming from West Texas, they made us feel right at home and offered any advice they had. Great location if you are looking to ride the trails! The cabins have a Blackstone grill, mini fridge and a microwave along with a full size tub and shower. If we ever get a chance to go back that direction, I will definitely be in touch! Excellent experience!

We loved staying at the Bear Den! Brian and Misty were super nice and helpful. They checked in with us a couple times to make sure we were good. Loved our stay! The cabin is beautifully designed, incredibly peaceful, and truly one of those rare places that helps you slow down and reconnect with nature. My wife and I spent a few days here celebrating our 15th anniversary, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We enjoyed the spectacular views, quiet mornings with coffee, evenings by the fire, and the outdoor soaking tub—which is an absolute must! You can tell Curtis and Morgan poured their hearts into building this place. If you’re looking to unplug and recharge, this little mountaintop retreat is truly something special. Oh, and the drive in is fun and not so daunting if you have the proper vehicle and wheels with a little grip.

Weekend Trip to Pinnacle Springs Recreational Park

Beautiful piece of property. We had a blast swimming in the creek. The cabin was clean and cozy. Our dog had a blast exploring the area with us as well. You definitely need a vehicle with decent ground clearance to access the sites by the creek.

We absolutely loved our time here!! There were a few other campers at campsites pretty far away from us. We usually camp in our Rooftop Tent but decided to enjoy the cabin for this weekend and it was really cozy and fun! The views of the creek were gorgeous!!

Weekend Trip to Ridgetop A-Frame Offgrid

What a beautiful space! I needed a little time alone, and the Ridgetop A-frame was perfect. Well decorating. Comfortable. The perfect spot to get away. Morgan and Curtis were fantastic hosts. Highly recommended!
