Dragoon is rich in history and natural beauty. The name comes from the 3rd U.S. Calvary Dragoons who battled the Chiricahua Apaches here led by Chief Cochise during the Apache Wars. Nearby, you can visit the confederate graves and ruins of the Dragoon Springs Stage Station. About 20 minutes away is Cochise Stronghold, home and burial place of Chief Cochise and Chiricahua Nat'l Monument is about an hour away (great hiking and climbing!). Unique to this area are the amazing rock formations of pillars, balances, and stacked rocks caused by cooled volcanic granite 50 million years ago. In addition, our area is home to hundreds of different bird species, the occasional Gila monster, coyotes, deer, and javalina.

Silver Belt RV Park is a small recently renovated RV park just a short walk from Historic Tombstone. All of our RV sites are pull through with full hook-ups. Only 18 miles away you have Kartchner Caverns State Park. Caves may seem spooky but trust us that this state park is not a place to skip. Experience the awesome might of Kubla Khan, the largest cave column in Arizona at three stories tall. His majesty sits in the Throne Room, where massive stalactites also live. View the world's biggest conglomeration of brushite moonmilk in the Big Room.
Arrive at sunset to see thousands of bats, especially during the summer. Bats roost in the Big Room because that's where they give birth to their young. Take a sunset tour to watch the creatures of the night go in search of food.

My 8 acre private horse property is located in the Sky Islands area of South Eastern Arizona. Are you grown ups who don't want to be next to kids yelling and running around dropping trash and throwing rocks, or barking pit bulls chained up, or loud music and generators? Do you like a clean restroom and a nice breakfast area on a well maintained property? Do you want to feel safe, enjoy beautiful views and know your stuff won't be stolen while you are in Tombstone? Then my place is for you! 18 and over. NO PIT BULLS. Good well behaved dogs allowed on leash welcome. If you want to bring a properly raised young person you can make your case to me and I will consider.
I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the covered space.
I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. An extra vehicle is OK as long as it's part of your one campsite. 2 groups with 2 camp vehicles is 2 campsites.
I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. You can set up your bed or rent a full size bed which I will set up for you.
This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff.
I have WiFi and great cell service here. Please arrive by 8pm unless arrangements are made in advance. I meet with you and show you around.
I will greet you and show you around. I close my gates at dark. Once you are here you may come and go as you please.
I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10.
Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a breakfast room with clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Lots of local birds visit daily. You are welcome to visit and pet my horses and donkeys!

We purchased our 20 acre homestead 16 years ago. The buildings were unlivable and land was overgrazed , but the windmill and sweet water well gave promise. We have been Restoring the land, allowing its native habitat to thrive. We now have a Year round vegetable garden, honeybees, orchard and grape vines. The adobe home and outbuildings and Sandhill (Crane) casita are restored with all recycle materials from the property. This place has some quirks but the CHARM is overwhelming and I absolutely loved staying here!! Toni is amazing and so so sweet and accommodating. We needed a place to bring our small pack of rescue pups while visiting Tucson and this was perfect for us. What a cozy little place! Perfect for my quick overnight in the area. A note that it is not as remote as I thought - in a small rural ish neighborhood and Tracy is next door. So not for you if you want complete seclusion. But so comfortable and well stocked. Tracy even helped me my shipping some clothes I left behind!

Weekend Trip to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch
We had a wonderful time staying in the pool house. There was a little heater that helped keep us toasty in the night and the the weather was glorious when the sun was out. The garage/kitchen bathroom area was nice to be able to use a fridge and wash hands.
Karla has a great setup and I enjoyed reading about her work and seeing her art and wood projects. So cool! We had some great conversations with the folks who were also staying around a bonfire. The outside was so nice that was so inviting to hang around and just be.
Would go again and recommend to others:)

Beautiful, homey stargazing. Sunrises and sunsets are unbelievable. Amazing stay that provides the best star gazing you could imagine. The grounds are beautiful and well-worth exploring. The indoor space offers a comfortable bed, great books, and a little kitchenette. It was perfect, cozy indoor space for two.
Go for hikes in the Chiricahua National Monument! You won’t see anything like it!
Harry and Barbara are the best! They are the kindest, most welcoming people in the world! They have great recommendations for sight seeing in the area as well! I hope we get to return soon!
