So when we married we moved to Washington DC knowing that in time we would make it west. 5 years later, when the traffic and the politics has taken its toll, we made a trip to Tucson and fell in love with this charming property that exudes all the beauty and grace of the Sonoran Desert. We looked at each other as we walked around looking at the stunning Mtn. Views and the mesquite fence and knew we were finally "home." There are sometimes dumpsters in town that can be used to dispose of waste. The bucket toilet consists of a bucket, bucket seat, funnel, and hose. The consumables are composting toilet bags, wood shavings/chips, and toilet paper. You do not need to use the funnel and hose, but may if you wish. At a minimum, place the bag into the bucket, with the bag edge over the edge of the bucket, and place the bucket seat onto the bucket. The bucket seat should firmly fit onto the bucket, and retain the bag. When your stay is complete, please make sure the seat and bucket are clean, as well as the funnel and hose, if you used them. Please make sure all supplies are returned to the Toilet Supplies container. Directions: The address is 12672 N Ray Ave. Make your way to the intersection of N Sabino Canyon Parkway and Retreat Rd. in Summerhaven, AZ. Marshall Gulch is a popular recreation area on the Arizona Trail, South of Summerhaven. There is also a lot of opportunity to hike and rock climb on the area. The area is not very suitable for RVs; it is not possible to bring an RV onto the property.

I work out of town occasionaly and dont like to waste money on motel rooms. Itd great there are places like this where someone can just pitch a tent, and enjoy the quietness of the outdoors. The campsites themselves were great. A small open area surrounded by trees. There were chairs provided around campfire pits. A portapotty was provided, which is a great benefit you dont get while rustic camping. The price was unbeatable! I will definately be back to spend some more time with the awesome hosts, and the adorable animals!

My stay at Maxine and Chad's Hdden Oasis was wonderful. Due to circumstances, I was upgraded to a Casita. It was so very cute, had a nice kitchen, a lovely shower, and a very comfortable bed. It was perfect for my need. The love and attention given to Hdden Oasis as a parent everywhere you look. Every detail is delightful and exudes a loving presence I hope to come back again with my husband and spend more time here. This place, surrounded by intriguing mountains, which I have no doubt are dripping with birds during spring migration, is truly a gem.

This cabin and land was exactly as described in the app. It was cozy the heater work the air conditioner worked hot water for the shower and a small refrigerator with a very very tiny freezer hot plate in microwave. Everything you need! I do intend to go back if she'll have me!

Weekend Trip to "Lil Red Camper Glamping in Style"

I had such a wonderful stay at Hidden Oasis! The hosts have put so much love and creativity into their place. All of the buildings are interesting, artsy, and sincere and exude a warm and friendly energy. The surrounding desert is lush, beautiful and teeming with wildlife. I’ve lived in Southern AZ for 35 years and still saw a few species of native plants and animals I’ve never seen before. The peace and tranquility here is superb, sitting outside enjoying the cooler weather and listening to the nature sounds was so relaxing that I slept better here than i have in weeks, and at night the sky explodes with stars, and I was lucky enough to see one streak across the sky. This is honestly one of my favorite places and I can’t wait to come back to visit the next time I’m in need of rejuvenation.

The Lazy Horse Ranch is easy to get to off of the main road. I had a great night at Lazy Horse Ranch. It was quite and comfortably. The hook ups were in working order. I even got some much needed rain. I checked out the horses, the library, there was a place to make coffee, do laundry. They had information about trails in the area. Maybe I will bring my horses out for a horsey vacation in the future. Thanks for the nice stay.

Julie and her husband were wonderful hosts! The property is fully fenced in and feels very safe. The campsite was comfortable and well setup, with a nice fire pit. Easy access to the toilet and shower in the tack room. Their dogs are extremely friendly and fun to have around and being right there with the horses was exactly what I was looking for.

Weekend Trip to La Hacienda Chuparosa

My partner and I had a lovely time on Julie's land. It was perfect for what we were looking for and we enjoyed the dogs and farm animal friends, and the peaceful evenings. We also enjoyed being so close to the east side of Saguaro National Park - just a 15 minute drive to the trailhead we hiked from. The bathroom space was maintained nicely. I was actually able to log into work from the campsite, so the wifi was quite good for those who might want that. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend for others.
