Located off I-40 ( old Route 66 ) in Holbrook, Arizona. No power, toilet, water, or sewage. You will need to drive ~1 mile or so off road to get to the provided coordinates.Just 49 miles away you have Castle Mountains National Park. You'll need a high-clearance, 4WD vehicle to get into this extremely remote national monument in the eastern Mojave Desert. Accessible only by dirt roads, Castle Mountains is surrounded on three sides by the Mojave National Preserve. It's the northernmost of the desert region's three new national monuments designated by the President in 2016.
This park in northeastern San Bernardino County protects 20,920 acres, located between the interstates I−15 and I−40. There are no facilities, developed campgrounds, or established trails within the monument. Backcountry camping is allowed.
Castle Peaks is one of the stars here—a cluster of imposing spires that climb skyward. The peaks are composed mainly of volcanic tuff, and the deep erosion of the rocks has created distinct, sharp summits. You're also rewarded for your efforts to get here by lush grasslands, Joshua tree forests, mountain vistas, and abundant wildlife. The rugged Mojave Desert is home to mountain lions, bighorn sheep, golden eagles, coyotes, and bobcats.

You should have downloaded good maps for offline use, and have a GPS that works. The area is a gorgeous valley surrounded by mountains, with big granite boulders everywhere and rarely any people. It is about 5 miles south of the grand canyon western ranch up into the mountains. the road in crosses state lands and ranch lands, game and fish have a sign in sheet at the beginning of iron springs canyon road. Please leave gates as you found them. Once there you can pretty much park and camp anywhere but the last mile of road is serious 4x4.

If I could give Abi a million stars for hosting an amazing property, I would! Very well kept, amazing views (desert land/plants, sunset, night sky, sunrise, all of it!), beautiful artwork and mini trails, basically more than anyone can ask for at a campsite. My husband, dogs and I enjoyed camping here so much we plan to visit again. It was nice that the whole area was to ourselves, it felt very private and safe. Would definitely recommend!

Such a special spot. I slept out under the desert stars in complete solitude (except for the company of jackrabbits and Joshua Trees). Place has vibey but not excessive artistic touches—perfectly representative of the environment. Good spot to camp and have a small fire. I really enjoyed my stay!

Oh my goodness this place! It was heaven! You need to be comfortable being remote because it really is just you. But the stars are so beautiful, the sunset was stunning and there is something so special about the peace it brings being so secluded. Roads are pretty rough getting to the camp but worth every bump aha.

Making the trip along Route 66 and wanted a camp ground and found this super private property with picnic table, fire pit and fun art sculptures! My wife and the dogs loved roaming the property and exploring around! The time we went provided a beautiful purple sunset, did have alittle bit of rain but that didn’t stop us! Very much recommend this inexpensive, get away camp site! Thank you!

We tent camped for 3 nights and it was absolutely beautiful! It was pretty hot during the days so definitely recommend bringing extra sun shades / canopy’s. Very quiet and secluded which we loved. The sunsets and stars were amazing. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful, charming campgrounds. Albeit feeling like “the middle of nowhere” once you brave the rumble of the dirt road you’re greeted by lit Joshua trees and a lovely common area. It was so quiet! Toilet is clean, with a lovely view. Will certainly book again if I’m ever needing a place while cruising the 40.

There is camping and there is the elevated experience that Abi offers. The site is more than we hoped for:
- The small kitchen and shade area was whimsical and practical. It felt like we were having dinner on a friend's patio.
- The outhouse was cleaner than any trail or state park bathroom I've ever used.
- The raised campsite area creates an ideallic view of sunsets and purple mountains and a platform for stargazing by the fire pit.
- We loved the nature trails that looped around the property. They enhance the desert experience. Our dogs loved all of the new smells and the freedom that most campsites do not afford them.
- There was so much creativity on this property: hidden curiosities everywhere you looked, warm desert colored designs.
- The campsite was very easy to get to, we live a few hours away and just wanted some unwind time. We had full phone service the whole time.
Abi's property sings while other campsites are unremarkable. She has found a way to convey everything there is to love about the desert - it's life, it's colors, it's creativity, it's freedom.
Truly, my husband and I will be talking about this two night experience for the rest of our lives.

We really enjoyed camping on Abi's land! There were lots of flat spots for our two tents, plenty of room to park our car, and lots of fun areas to explore. We enjoyed the table with fairy lights for dinner and explored some of the trails in the daylight. The outhouse was super convenient. Abi gave us excellent directions so finding the property was easy. Our Corolla did fine on all of the roads, we just took it slow on some very sandy sections. We would definitely stay here again! :)
