The wood stove kicks out a ton of heat to keep you toasty while you sip on steamy hot chocolate that is provided for your enjoyment. Gather around the propane operated firepit in the backyard for some R&R. Bring a hammock 'cuz there are unlimited opportunities for stringing one up! Tons of activities will keep you occupied, including hiking and biking on the nearby Arizona Trail (just 1/2 mile away), or even sledding on your very own private 2 acre piece of paradise! What's even better is the property backs onto the National Forest, for unlimited enjoyment of nature. In the evening crack open a book, or start playing a game with your besties to close out a long day. The property is completely off the grid, making it very appealing to those travelers and adventurers who want to create a minimal carbon footprint on their vacation. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. You can refill the jug as needed from a hand pump located in the back yard. There is solar powered lighting and a USB phone charger station. There is no electrical power available. Cell service is available in the area depending on your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor. The cabin is located at 8200' in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. Snowshoe or cross country ski, go sledding or snowmobiling, or just good old fashioned relaxation will make the time fly by. During a snowy period, access may require either cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling to the property from the main highway (approx 2.1 miles). If you get stuck on the road it will be your own responsibility. Please check with the owner a couple days prior to your visit to check on road conditions during the winter!

We had such a great time during our stay here, it was plenty of space for our family and puppers! The host Jason was great and reached out to see if we needed anything during our stay, he also has a wealth of knowledge on places to explore and things to see in the area, which was great. The stars out there at night are absolutely breathtaking! Would absolutely stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Glamper Cabin in the Aspens & Pines
It was a really lovely stay. The place felt perfectly cozy. It did get chilly at night and the area had normal rural-y neighborhood sounds that echo (wasn't a bother), trucks, barking, kids playing, chainsaws and such. We had a few dogs from the area say hi too, but they were all sweet. A lantern died on us, but I recommend bringing your own lights as well, just in case.
It smelled great outside and the breeze in the trees was quite delightful along with the birds chirping away. The wood stove was easy to use and we didn't have an issue with water except it being heavy to haul. You'll have to go outside for good natural lighting and leave the inside for nighttime cozy cabin activities. It was a little difficult to wash hands and dishes in the kitchen sink (a short hand pump).
Overall a really nice stay, we didn't want to leave. I'd def like to live in a neighborhood like this. Thanks!

We absolutely loved our stay at Red River Vortex! Everything about it was perfect. It was close to everything we wanted to do yet the cabin itself is somewhat remote so it's perfect for a relaxing experience. Jason was an amazing host. He suggested many incredible places to explore and was very knowledgeable about the area. We took up several of his suggestions and we were very happy that we did. I would highly recommend Jason's spot and we plan to return when we can.

We loved our stay Verde River Vortex! We stayed in for 3 nights and had a blast. Jason the owner is very accommodating and just an overall good guy! He let us borrow a stand up paddle board and shuttled our family up river so we could float down (absolutely no charge). It was such a cool experience, my husband and I floated the Verde River each with a kid on the front of our board! He also recommended a variety of secluded swimming holes for the next day. There is a hot tub on the property he let us use as well, our kids absolutely loved it! If you want to enjoy the stars, be off the beaten path yet close to town, this is your spot! I highly recommend these cabins!

Our family of six had an amazing four night stay at this perfect cabin. Our four kids loved splitting wood, pumping water, and all things about off-the-grid living. The wood burning stove kept us toasty and entertained. We read and played games including a very serious tournament of capture the flag! It was also amazing to fall asleep hearing a bit of rain but waking to a covering of snow! This was also a good base for a day trip to the Grand Canyon. I loved being out of range of WiFi and cell service; a helpful reset for the first half of a family adventure.

Out of all of our many stays, this may end up being our absolute favorite. The Glamper Cabin has everything you need and nothing you don’t… it’s the simple, peaceful, beautiful escape my family needed. Our girls spent hours building forts and “museums” in the woods and nights were spent playing games together, warmed by the wood stove. We enjoyed pumping water and living simply.

Such a perfect stay! The cabin is perfect size for two people and the hot tub was perfect as well. There’s bamboo outside that helps with the privacy which is very nice! The location puts you out in nature but also very close to downtown Cottonwood which was a blast to visit! We will for sure be back!

We had a great experience overall! Christine was flexible and understanding when we needed to change the dates of our stay. My daughter really enjoyed the property, especially the tire swing and hammock. It was a bit odd to us having a host on the property and around so much but Bill was helpful and friendly! Would recommend refinishing the benches and barstools on the deck as the wood was chipping in areas and could cause splinters. Some cushions on the benches would also add some more comfort but overall the deck was great for entertaining and relaxing. The inside was cozy and clean, had just the right amount of supplies for our stay. My daughter asked when we could go back before we even left, so we are looking forward to staying again sometime. Highly recommend!

We loved to cabin on Jason’s land. Incredibly serene with a great view. Close to Old Town Cottonwood and many outdoor adventures. His cabin was very grounding and allowed us to fully relax.

Weekend Trip to Verde River Vortex
Our host went above and beyond to make everything about this experience amazing. The stay was so soulful. We took the opportunity for river kayaking, and it was made so easy with our hosts help. We were blessed to be able take the time to spend a quiet day painting rocks and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. A few nights under the stars on the loft deck were the reset we needed. Can’t boast more about this stay. Highly recommend all of it.
