Gather around the propane operated firepit in the backyard for some R&R. Bring a hammock 'cuz there are unlimited opportunities for stringing one up! Tons of activities will keep you occupied, including hiking and biking on the nearby Arizona Trail (just 1/2 mile away), or even sledding on your very own private 2 acre piece of paradise! What's even better is the property backs onto the National Forest, for unlimited enjoyment of nature. In the evening crack open a book, or start playing a game with your besties to close out a long day. The property is completely off the grid, making it very appealing to those travelers and adventurers who want to create a minimal carbon footprint on their vacation. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. You can refill the jug as needed from a hand pump located in the back yard. There is solar powered lighting and a USB phone charger station. There is no electrical power available. Cell service is available in the area depending on your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor. The cabin is located at 8200' in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. Snowshoe or cross country ski, go sledding or snowmobiling, or just good old fashioned relaxation will make the time fly by. Luis's spot was a beautiful stop on the start of a long week of national park visiting! The field was clear and level. It was a little challenging to navigate to the site itself, as we arrived around 10 pm and it was quite dark, but both Apple and Google Maps brought us to the right spot. Would recommend a vehicle with decent ground clearance to get to the site - my 4Runner did great. Overall, would definitely book again! Thanks!

this is the perfect cabin retreat to escape a busy life and a busy world. I wanted to disconnect from everything and I found the perfect spot.. this cabin is located in a small community and I heard no leaf blowers, ATV noise, or car noise. The only sounds were bird song and the wind blowing through the Aspens. I enjoyed the off grid aspect of this cabin. There were solar lights in the evening and a hand pump at the kitchen sink for water.. I spent most of my time on the front porch, reading books, and watching a little bird build a nest up in the rafters of the porch. The COmmunity is high and cool at 8200 feet elevation.. I was surrounded by majestic Aspen and pines. I highly recommend this cabin retreat if you want to escape the world and get back to nature. No asphalt and no noise made it perfect for me.. The host was very responsive and we had no issues.

We spent most of our time on the porch watching birds, playing cards and just soaking up the quite mountain air. We loved staying at Highland. The hosts have really put so much effort into sharing the beautiful land they're on with others, including water and power. The showers were super clean and comfortable and the beds super clean and cozy as well. Keep in mind the temperature extremes - I think the tent heated up too quickly in the morning/early afternoon and it got very cold at night. This cabin was perfection. It was immaculately clean. We sat on the front porch, read our books, listened to the birds, and RELAXED. We sighted deer out the back window both nights. It was just what we needed.

This was great and affordable location, just an hour outside of Flagstaff! My dog loved our morning and evening walks around the community. Private acre with amazing views. Thanks, Luis for an incredible stay and reliable communication.

I enjoyed my stay on Luis's land. It was private, peaceful and offered panoramic views. We stayed during a week of rain showers so a 4-Wheel or AWD would be recommended. Luis was kind, helpful and always available for questions. The GPS led me to the area, and Luis's directions helped me find the specific spot. I would definitely stay again :)
