With the Saguaro National Park Visitor Center, Tucson Mountain Park, and Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum all within four miles, there is plenty of opportunity to explore the outdoors. What to expect: We are in a rural neighborhood where most parcels are 1-3 acres, we have seven acres. It's quiet around here but along with the natural sounds of the desert like yipping coyotes, and woodpeckers pecking, you may hear a horse, dog, or chicken. While we are on the outskirts of Tucson, we are not completely remote. We have carved our sites out of the natural layout of the desert. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible. We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. We have a small Laundry Shack (two washers, two dryers) 2.00 wash/2.00 dry. You'll need cash for these things, we do not take any other form of payment at this time. Camp Saguaro is tobacco-free. We have one RV space (campsite only-No RV) with full hook ups next to a shared beautiful pool and gazebo. Your RV space has a pedestal with three optional plugs: 50/30/20 amp plugs. All have breaker switches. This RV pad is decomposed gravel and has it's own brick patio. Your RV space is separated via brick wall, vinyl, and pool fencing. The entire property is a quarter acre in a quiet Mesa AZ neighborhood, just North of Gilbert, highway 60, and close to shopping and restaurants. The RV pad is accessed via a 25 foot wide drive up to a 14 foot wide RV gate. Your vehicle will sit on level decomposed granite. Your RV pad is 80 feet long and 20 feet wide. In addition, you have approx. 20'x20' brick patio for chairs, table, and outdoor living space. You can lock up your space via the RV gate, then come and go via the locked walk through gate. Camp Saguaro was a great base for exploring the area. The campground is well-maintained, clean, and very cutely decorated. The hosts are very helpful, but also unobtrusive. I loved the meteor shower I saw at 5:30 am. The owls, coyotes, and roosters were a great night sound track. My group was out of camp exploring most days so I didn’t get to spend much daytime in the camp. I would have liked recycling receptacle next to the trash can. That is my main suggestion for improvement. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

I loved the whole vibe of camp, which is fun and functional! I stayed in the Adobe, which was very comfortable with an air mattress I rented from camp owners for $15. There were hanging overhead lights near the bed which I found helpful though not a substitute for lantern and headlamp. The bathroom was clean, the shower had a healthy stream of warm water. There were welcoming touches throughout the campground including lights on trees, little colorful fake nomes and mushrooms decorating the cacti area near my structure. There were adirondack chairs throughout, easy dish washing sink, a convenience store with ice and wood, gift items. All in all a comfortable experience I’d do again. Plus location is great near Saguero National Park and Gates Pass (wonderful sunset views). My friends stayed in nearby camp sites on premises and we enjoyed campfire meals and singing. Before 8 pm. It was very quiet and clean. Thank you!

I was greeted by the camp hosts and given a guided tour around the grounds. I was impressed with how clean, tidy and well maintained things were. This morning as I was heading out, I met Kim and Michelle too. They’re great people and so I can’t recommend this campground enough!

We have been traveling full time in our RV for 6 months and this was one of our favorite stays. Bill and his family are great hosts, and made us feel right at home. Our kids loved the in ground trampoline, the hot tub and the playground, and there was plenty of room for them to run around. The equine experience was a highlight for our family, and we learned a lot about horses. Couldn’t recommend Double H Hacienda any higher.

Wow. I am blown away how cool, fun, comfy, cute and well taken care of the camp was!! We only spent one short night there but we will be back! There is SO much going on here - and practically inside western Saguaro Nat’l Park I almost don’t want to review it so it stays a secret but I want the folks here to have all the success they deserve. If you go make sure you take good care of this gorgeous camp, respect the property and the hard working hosts!! Thanks again and see you soon ;)

Was a beautiful, relaxing stay. The adobe structure was warm on a very cold night. Loved all the custom features. The bathroom and showers were very close by, great community spaces to stare up at the stars. Great to be so close to the national park and stay out in the desert for night. Beautiful property, felt safe, great night of sleep. Will def come back.

The attention to detail throughout the campsite is so thoughtful and welcoming, and the people running it are sweet as can be! The mushroom was very cozy especially with the fireplace warmer, I didn’t expect it to be as warm and comfortable in December as it was, slept peacefully after stargazing by the campfire. Absolutely gorgeous night sky views, and incredibly clean facilities within walking distance. We stayed at the Adobe site previously, and loved the campground so much we came back to stay in the mushroom!

We loved our campsite curious quail! The campground is setup so nice and everything was so clean. We loved walking around and exploring each unique area. Our pup enjoyed chasing the ball in the Boneyard! The camp hosts were so nice and we loved chatting with them. The Mercantile had some nice treats.

This place is so interesting. Some new detail at every turn. I loved it here. Very clean, shower was wonderful. My dog likes to run and this was a bit confining for her. I could have stayed a week. Very relaxing and quiet for sleeping. Highly recommend.

The moment we arrived we knew we would extend. The Camp is very laid back with marvelous hosts. Everything appears to be well thought through. Wonderful showers with nice hot water and enough hooks for the stuff. The Magical Mushroom itself was very special. We did not need our tent and slept inside. It kept us cosy and warm during the chilly nights. Overall we loved our stay. A real gem hidden among the saguaros.

I loved tent camping at the Saguaro camp, especially the Lovey Dovey where we stayed! The Saguaro camp is so cute and the camp site is exactly what we needed. We had enough privacy, all the amenities were great and very cute dog park since we were traveling with our pup.
