Awesome new campsite! The hosts are lovely. They met us and let us pick wherever we’d like to go, plus goody bags and some wood! The hook ups are great, amazing view from the ridge off to the north east. Clear skies and bright stars. No blinding camp lights which is amazing! Most campsites have huge pillars that blast light into your tents, but this one was really serene. New bathrooms and showers, and only a couple minutes down the street from Cherokee Rock Village for climbing (no power there). Excited to have a good spot to base camp at for long climbing weekends!

This campsite is so easy to camp at. Danny has Dark Hollow so well setup, maintained, and organized. The property has everything a tent camper looking for a creek spot to leisurely explore.
We tent camped for 2 nights. I have a small car, which allowed me to pull right up to the campsite we chose, named “The Ledge.” We had a fire pit, picnic table, immediate trailhead access, and a view I dream of waking up to always.
We spent hours exploring the creek, laying out in the sun, birdwatching, and more. The trails are easy to follow, however, you need hiking boots. I would say the trails we did were easy with moderate-difficult areas depending on how far you decide to go.
If you are someone who loves simple outdoor camping, book a few nights at Dark Hollow. There is an outdoor propane powered shower at the top of the campground, an outhouse toward the bottom/middle, a spigot for utility water, and trash cans. There is an option to add on firewood; I didn’t have to haul bundles of it in my tiny car.
Oh, man. We had the best time here.
I highly suggest Dark Hollow for tent campers who want to explore outside of public parks.

Wonderful overnight at this property. The owner has clearly put a lot of thought and care into making this an enjoyable and beautiful place to camp. A steep hiking trail is very worth traversing for the beautiful stream and scenery at the bottom of the hill. Would stay again.

It was a nice Campground park! We enjoyed it and loved the view of the lake. We fished,swam, inflatable boated and saw some animals! The general store is nice for emergencies. Our campsite was private but we were still in walking distance to showers when needed. i reccomend for our family of 6!

We got to meet the hosts this time and they were wonderful and gave us fresh blueberries from their own blueberry bushes. :) we love this spot because are dogs can be (mostly) free to hang out and swim. Excellent place, beautiful camp sites. Lots of firewood available. Take a hike down into the hollow... it lives up to its name. Its dark and spooky down in the bottoms following the trails down. There's showers and bathrooms available. It's a quiet place, very secluded and feels safe. We were the only people there that night and still felt very safe. There's a gated entrance that's locked at night so nobody can just wander in. Im looking forward to cooler weather so we can return.

My husband &I totally enjoyed our stay at River Ranch. We stayed in our travel trailer under the covered concrete pad surrounded by total beauty. So quiet & peaceful. Our dog loved playing in the river. Doni was very very helpful & kind. A fantastic Host!!!! We will definitely be back for another visit hopefully in the fall!!!
