Welcome to CAMP 222, a private campground nestled on approximately 1 acre of land adjacent to Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman, AL.
Experience the tranquility of lake life as you enjoy boating adventures accessed via our private boat ramp. Our campground offers camper hook-ups for water and electricity, although sewer facilities are not available from April - November a portable toilet is on site. During the months of December - March, guests must either have a camper with a restroom or bring their own camp toilets.
Conveniently situated just off Cullman County Road 222, our campsite is within a quarter mile of two gas stations, two independently owned stores offering short-order food options, and a Dollar General. While there may be some road noise from County Road 222, especially during daytime hours, it typically tapers off in the evening and nighttime.
Enjoy stunning views of the 4th of July fireworks from Smith Lake Park, as our property provides a prime vantage point.
Lewis Smith Lake, managed by Alabama Power, spans 21,000 acres and is the deepest lake in Alabama at 264 ft. The water level varies throughout the year, usually reaching full-pool from April to July before gradually decreasing for the autumn and winter seasons. Please note the rocky shore near the sun deck, which is why jumping or diving from the sun deck is prohibited.
The nearby City of Cullman, located approximately 10 miles away, offers abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Additionally, the city hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, including the Strawberry Festival in April, Octoberfest in October, and Christkindlmarkt in November & December.

300 acres of family land since 2000. This area was called Boot's Bottoms growing up and the name stuck. There is a rock wall close to the campsite that was a old grist mill site. Plenty of wildlife, bird watching, wildflowers and creek walking. Some old ATV trails for hiking as well. Very remote and quite!

Rodger’s property was just lovely! It was exactly as described. He was a very responsive and personable host, who clearly wants people to feel comfortable and happy at the site. It’s a small and quaint campsite, if you are looking for something not as big as an RV park or giant state park. The campsites are quite big and spread apart, so you don’t feel like you’re on top of each other. I definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

We really enjoyed staying at JG's Campen Life. J & G came out and met us at the gate with our checkin info. G led us to our site where we could stay hooked up since the site was level. We were only staying overnight as we were passing through the area. They had a lot of amenities on-site, but unfortunately since we were just passing through the area, we couldn't use them. If we're ever back in the area, it would be nice to stay there again! The area was very quiet and the price-affordable. The local Love's RV stop was roughly the same price and would have been much more noisy. Keep up the great work JG's and I wish you only the best

I feel that his description & check in procedures were exactly stated. He offered additional site information based on his current occupancy & we really appreciated his "real-time" assessment.
We selected this site based on location. It was an easy access to Greenville, Scottsboro, Chattanooga & Hwy 59 (when we departed).

Clean and quiet campground. Nice amenities. We would love to come back in the warmer months to use the swimming hole. Kids loved the playground. I never could get the Wi-Fi to have a good signal, but that is the only issue we had during our stay. Anytime I reached out to staff they answered the phone and were accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

This was our first time in a travel trailer so needed somewhere that had easy facilities. We didn't think we would find anywhere since it was Labor Day weekend, but then found River Ridge. The campground is very easy to get to and each site is a pull through. The grounds are very well kept, sites clean and level. Bathrooms were spotless. They had water slides for the kids and bingo for the adults. Will definitely visit here again.

If you love all things nature this is definitely the spot to be. I highly recommend camp T it’s a little ways in the back but that’s what makes it great. It was very relaxing & quiet when we stayed. Along with that there’s a creek/stream behind the campsite that is so serene. Waking up in the morning and taking a dip in the swimming hole part was the best part/feeling. As well as hearing the stream’s beautiful water sounds. There’s so much to explore along the creek line. Upon arrival they give you firewood which is such a big plus in the experience here! They have a picnic table & firepit at every campsite in camp T . 100/10 recommend . I will definitely be back:)
