300 acres of family land since 2000. This area was called Boot's Bottoms growing up and the name stuck. There is a rock wall close to the campsite that was a old grist mill site. Plenty of wildlife, bird watching, wildflowers and creek walking. Some old ATV trails for hiking as well. Very remote and quite!

Rock dam in creek is great to entertain kids, old grist mill site couple hundred yards downstream. Logging and ATV present for hiking and wildlife viewing. The Dry Bones Live (Ezekiel 37).
The first visit in 2019 to this 21 acres was both a shock and a confirmation. It had everything on our check list and more - nearly flat land, convenient location, but also twice the acreage, a roadbed, diversity, Monarch butterflies everywhere, access to a big lake.....and it was littered with logs!! They were in piles and scattered everywhere.
But this particular land was being placed in my hands to steward and to reveal the creativity and loving nature of Yahweh. And that meant not bulldozing or burning the logs. Instead, the task was to breathe life into the logs and the land through gentle stewardship to protect the biodiversity and build good soil. Breath of Life Farm is being regeneratively developed to cultivate elderberries, vineyards, peaches, mushrooms, and small plantations of trees for wood or nuts.
My sister, Pam, and I hope that visitors will come to enjoy the seasonal changes of flower colors, watch for foot and hoof prints of wildlife, enjoy the songs of the birds and the frogs, see how many different native mushroom species they can spot, and be marveled by the stars as they sparkle in the dark night sky.
Our wish is that through the years, folks return to see the changes and positive impact of regenerative farming practices. To be a witness to the life breathed into this land. We hope you will be inspired, uplifted, strengthened, and energized by the story of Breath of Life Farm.

I really enjoyed this campsite. The drive in was very straightforward (especially if you watch the YouTube video). The creek was low since we haven't had any rain lately. It was extremely private- some occasional far off car noise and dogs barking but otherwise a wonderful spot in the woods. Plenty of room for multiple tents or vehicles. Thanks for sharing it with us.

This was our first time in a travel trailer so needed somewhere that had easy facilities. We didn't think we would find anywhere since it was Labor Day weekend, but then found River Ridge. The campground is very easy to get to and each site is a pull through. The grounds are very well kept, sites clean and level. Bathrooms were spotless. They had water slides for the kids and bingo for the adults. Will definitely visit here again.

We recently spent the weekend at this campground and had a truly relaxing and peaceful experience. If you're looking for a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle, this place is perfect. The sites were well-spaced, allowing for privacy and minimal noise from neighbors. It was so refreshing to wake up to the sound of birds instead of traffic!
The surroundings were beautifully maintained, with lots of trees providing shade and a sense of seclusion. The staff was friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
Whether you're camping solo, as a couple, or with family, this is a great spot to unwind and recharge. We spent our days reading, walking nearby trails, driving along the lake's winding roads, and enjoying the calm atmosphere.

One of the best campsites my husband and I have stayed at for sure! Absolutely beautiful and private, and we’d defiantly stay there again. We did get flooded out though so if you are staying during the rainy season I’d keep an eye on the creek but other than that it was the perfect site.

Super fun spot to camp, extremely private & tucked away. Be mindful of your tent placement if rain is in the forecast as half the campsite floods 2-3” of water (found out the hard way!) haha! Makes for a better story later on. The creek is amazing & the drive down into the site is so fun.

Tent camping at Crystal’s beautiful little farm was just right for me as a woman traveling alone. The camping area was very private and at the back of the property but felt safe and secure because Crystal and her charming husband live at the front of the property and anyone coming in has to pass right close to their house. Mr Crystal patiently guided me to a trail for hiking behind the property and I had a short hike through some stunningly beautiful woods and meadows before sundown. Sunset was gorgeous. I could see it through the trees from my tent. Kids will definitely enjoy the friendly and adorable animals.

My family had a great experience here. It was a very peaceful place with little noise.
There isn’t much to do on site which might be a problem for anyone that has to have something to do at all times but there are plenty of things to do around town.
I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a quiet place near the water to chill. My wife and I will likely go back.

I didn't have a chance to completely explore Bates Farm, but what a nice spot with flush toilets, showers, laundry on site, and lots of campsites to choose from. They are really nice and accommodating, and have lots of kid friendly experiences available.
Definitely on my 'repeatable stay' list!

Very peaceful, lots of land to explore, amenities were good, as were the hosts! We would definitely return, lots of options on where to stay, further away from the bath house if you want more remote, play zone is good for younger children. We were able to play fetch with our dog which was awesome considering most places require them to be leashed at all times.
