High speed, Nascar style outdoor adventure is so abundant at Talladega National Forest, we’re pretty sure Ricky Bobby spends his days here. Feel the wind in your hair on the Kentuck OHV or Sylaward Mountain Bike Trails. If you’re wanting more solitude, try hiking the challenging Odum Point where dwarf trees dot the landscape. Stunning laurels and huckleberry bushes will greet trail riders in the spring, and camping is as perfect as it gets with fall foliage greeting you in the autumn. Waterfalls, rugged ridgetops, and shady hollers ensure there’s no need to get hopped up on mountain dew; Talladega will have you hopped on adventure before you can say “shake and bake”!

Convenient stop for the night or a base camp for a few days to see the area for RV’s or Tent campers - a good place to get a hot shower - only a easy mile a half from I-20 exit 173 ( Eastaboga - Talladega Superspeedway Exit ) also a good base camp to see Cheaha State Park - bike at Coldwater Mountain- see the Talladega Superspeedway , Combat Park Flea Market , Citizens Marksmanship Park, Oxford ballgames or other area Activities - I reserve two RV sites and two tent sites thru hipcamp and rent the other 14 RV sites usually on a monthly basis - these hipcamp tent sites are wooded, shady with woods between the other sites to give some privacy while still not far from the unique showers made from the old chicken house feed bins. The RV sites are in a more open area near the highway.

Welcome to CAMP 222, a private campground nestled on approximately 1 acre of land adjacent to Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman, AL. Experience the tranquility of lake life as you enjoy boating adventures accessed via our private boat ramp. Relax and bask in the sun on our floating sun deck, or unwind in the shade with a nap in one of our hammocks. As night falls, gather around our fire pit to share stories without the distractions of nearby campers. Our campground offers camper hook-ups for water and electricity, although sewer facilities are not available from April - November a portable toilet is on site. During the months of December - March, guests must either have a camper with a restroom or bring their own camp toilets. Conveniently situated just off Cullman County Road 222, our campsite is within a quarter mile of two gas stations, two independently owned stores offering short-order food options, and a Dollar General. While there may be some road noise from County Road 222, especially during daytime hours, it typically tapers off in the evening and nighttime. Enjoy stunning views of the 4th of July fireworks from Smith Lake Park, as our property provides a prime vantage point. Lewis Smith Lake, managed by Alabama Power, spans 21,000 acres and is the deepest lake in Alabama at 264 ft. The water level varies throughout the year, usually reaching full-pool from April to July before gradually decreasing for the autumn and winter seasons. Please note the rocky shore near the sun deck, which is why jumping or diving from the sun deck is prohibited. The nearby City of Cullman, located approximately 10 miles away, offers abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Additionally, the city hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, including the Strawberry Festival in April, Octoberfest in October, and Christkindlmarkt in November & December.

Meadow Song Sanctuary @ The Barn On Grandview

16. Meadow Song Sanctuary @ The Barn On Grandview

5.2mi from Carlisle-Rockledge · 1 site
Meadow Song Sanctuary is a peaceful, evolving ecological sanctuary set among rolling hills, mature oak trees, open meadows, and a quiet pond. The property is being intentionally restored as a place where people, wildlife, pollinators, creativity, and community can thrive together. Guests may wake to birdsong, watch dragonflies and butterflies move through the landscape, relax beneath the trees, or spend time overlooking the pond from the hillside. Depending on the dates of your stay, the property may feel deeply quiet and private, or you may have the opportunity to experience workshops, classes, seasonal festivals, healing gatherings, music, art, or other community-centered events taking place nearby. A stay here offers the freedom to choose your own rhythm: peaceful solitude in nature, meaningful connection with others, or a little of both. Please note that the property is not always freshly mowed as shown in some photos. We intentionally leave portions of the meadow and landscape wild or seasonally overgrown to support wildlife habitat, wildflower growth, pollinators, biodiversity, and healthy soil ecology. The appearance of the land naturally changes throughout the seasons as part of the sanctuary's ecological restoration.

1.3 acre property hidden in small town Glencoe, AL. Beautiful tall pines enclose this beautiful site in front of an old public cemetery plot that's rarely visited but has a pathway through the woods for exploring, a circle path we named Panther Path will lead you right back to camp. (The name Panther Path has a story. Basically keep an eye out for black panthers in these parts.) Our family and farm animals live on the property as well (Don't mind the rooster in the AM) but there's plenty of room to pitch a tent, bring your small camper or smaller skoolie (If rig is over 25 feet please message me after booking and we can figure out how to accommodate your rig best before arrival.) There is plenty of room for a couple tents as well if you are traveling as a group, amenities include: a brick fire circle, wood garden set for sitting with small table and some privacy from our family but a lot of privacy from the outside world, the graveyards are free to explore, but if you go in the gated one we ask that you relatch the gate. Firewood can be ready at your campsite for an additional cost. We have seasonal events as well as a farm stand, a bus shop, and a greenhouse. (These are still projects in progress.) We have two dogs, Boogie - a male and a very large dog, LGD - Livestock Guardian Dog, her name is Maple. Both dogs are very nice and kind. Maple's job is to protect our ducks and chickens from predators. She will bark but she will not hurt you. She will especially love you if you have treats or say 'Hello, Maple!" We will try to have her put away before bookings if enough notice is given. She will not hurt a human, she knows her job and duty on our homestead but she can be nosy as she runs the perimeter of our property often. If you have a fear of dogs or would like to make sure she is put up just send me a message beforehand and I will make sure she is put away secure. She also will not mind other dogs but please make sure if you bring a pet it is kind to other animals and we expect all pets are leashed at all times unless inside your rig.
