Our little town of Wetumpka is only 9 miles down the road. We are 9 miles from Lake Jordan and 11 miles from Lake Martin. Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 25 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. Small cars are able to access campsite and park at site pretty easily. The property also has natural wildlife like coyotes, snakes, spiders, ants, etc.. Alabama can also get very hot during June, July, August. Please prepare accordingly. Meeting at the front of the property is not needed, just drive to your hipcamp and set up 🙂 Please message me about any concerns! After a heavy rain, you will hear our small creek trickling. We have unlimited tent camping sites, with access to a water hose only. They are located down the hill, to the back of our property. Our one back in pad is located house. 30 foot maximum length rig. We also have one boondocking gravel pad available, with no hookups, that is located across the driveway from our house. Quiet hours are from 10pm until 6am. Absolutely no discharging of firearms allowed at any time. Alcohol is permitted, for those 21 and older, as long as the noise level and behavior don't become a nuisance. There will be no tolerance for use of illegal drugs. Dogs are allowed as long as they aren't aggressive and not allowed to roam outside of our property. Please be sure to clean up after them. Our cute, quaint little town of Wetumpka is only 5 miles down the road. We are 20 miles from Montgomery, which is jam packed with civil rights historical sites, museums, a zoo, fabulous restaurants, a riverboat cruise on the Alabama River, a sip and cycle pedal boat cruise, and a white water rafting park.

We loved our stay! This is such a great campsite. We had the best neighbors and even better views! Our dogs enjoyed roaming the property and there was everything we needed and more. The host, Sam, was super accommodating and even drove out to us to guide us to camp when we got there later on our arrival! This location is perfectly center between Opelika and Columbus, so we enjoyed visiting both.

I stayed here for a few weeks and would HIGHLY recommend it! It was very peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. The only downside is the shower (it’s outside, and the hot water runs out quick). Samuel is a fantastic host and was very quick to respond if I ever needed anything.

This place is very peaceful and quiet. There is not much light, so the stars are stunning. There is an outdoor shower and bathroom with hot water. The road to get there is all grass but smooth if you go slow. We only stayed for one night. They do allow pets off leash which is nice!

I've been meaning to do this all week but life gets busy. We had a great time at Hidden Branch. It's a nice clean campground with plenty of space along with a nice outdoor kitchen, shower house and outhouse. Also nice and secluded so he don't get a lot of city lights with some beautiful views of the stars in the sky. I would definitely recommend spending some time here.

It was absolutely perfect, from start to finish. Well, the finish sucked because we had to leave. We pitched our tent next to the pond, had a shaded seating area next to our fire pit. Bathroom and shower were a short walk. Fishing was peaceful and the jon boat was super fun to go out on and fish. Super quiet. Plenty of firewood, FREE. Early check in and late check out was lovely. We didnt feel rushed at all. If you forget anything (like leaving your day 1 dinner in your refrigerator at home), there is a small grocery store as well as a dollar general within 5 minutes. All around an awesome camp site! I want to go back, SOON! thank you for sharing your piece of tranquility with us!

A hidden gem only minutes away from FDR! As much as I love GA State Parks in general and FDR in particular - I won't camp in FDR as long as this wonderful place is available. Exactly as described: you have the entire campsite for yourself. Peaceful and quiet! At the same time, you don't feel lost in the wild: there are other houses (nearest is maybe 2-3 hundred yards away, you can't see it, but you know it is there) and you can still drive to Warm Springs for your morning coffee. FHU worked perfectly, the site is flat and easy to back in. You may want to bring a flashlight because it is dark at night. Also bring outdoor table and chairs is you wanna sit by the campfire.
