A fantastic campsite with a rustic lean-to and a great view. Communication was prompt and helpful, and there was a composting toilet and fire-pit to add to the experience. A great stop on the VTXL. Highly recommend!

With the host not at home when we arrived, we were forced to wander around for a bit to find the leanto. After 20 minutes or so we found it tucked away up and to the right of the A-frame. That settled we had a great time. The views were amazing and enjoyed our dinner with the campfire and stars as entertainment. Great place.

We had the loveliest time in this cozy little A-frame. Such a beautiful spot, with a little brook behind and a view of the barn, surrounded by fields, crabapple trees, and woods. Felt totally secluded, and we were super comfortable in our accommodations. Town is right nearby for any needs we had. Gretchen was so helpful and communicative - we hope to come back in the winter! Thank you!!

My partner and I absolutely loved staying in this A frame. It was so cute inside and though the weekend was damper than we anticipated we felt very cozy inside listening to the frogs and the stream. Since it rained most of the time we were very thankful for the electric burner provided and enjoyed having our meals looking out over the farm. The structure may not be super far from the main house but it’s nestled perfectly to feel like you’ve got your own private little corner of the property. It was a great hub to travel to all the day trips we had planned. We’re so thankful to have stayed at Gretchen’a place and that we got to meet Winston the dog on our last day. We absolutely look forward to booking here again!

Outstanding! 10/10 would come again. Gretchen was an amazing host who was able to inform us of upcoming/ current weather conditions prior to our trip and make adjustments accordingly. Truly appreciated and would love to come back during the different seasons!

The A-frame was even more beautiful in person. Then the location, wow! Peacham is probably the most beautiful vermont town i’ve been to. Would definitely stay again! Gretchen was kind, welcoming, and super helpful!

The cabin/a-frame was really just one part of the wonderful setting that provided the perfect local weekend getaway. The property is only an hour away from where I live but I couldn't have felt more removed and at peace while there.
The brook is quite audible from inside your space and it set a fantastic natural soundtrack for reading, and then for falling sound asleep. The table and chairs situated near the large windows is perfect for enjoying your morning beverage of choice, along with some muffins if you add that to your stay. (And they are delicious) There are essential cooking supplies and a radio that works especially well when you prop a metal utensil against the antenna nub! Cute bistro/cafe string lights give this space a really lovely and cozy glow.
I can't say enough, I loved being here and it was a perfect step between camping and air bnb. I will definitely make an effort to return in a different season to see the changes of the lush, picturesque farm and landscape. <3

Gretchen’s place is wonderful. The night was full of fireflies and frog calls. You fall asleep listening to the stream nearby. Magic. Definitely add her homemade goodies to your stay!

What a spectacular spot - we had a good feeling coming into this Hipcamp and it did not disappoint. Peacham/Barnet area is a personal favorite area of Vermont and has always felt super special. Gretchen is a wonderful host and made us feel so welcome and at home. We already miss this place..coziest a-frame cabin of all time and outfitted so well. We had a full day of rain and this was the best home base we could have asked for. Highly recommend Peacham Cafe for breakfast, Three Ponds in Danville for the most incredible sandwiches, and Devil's Hill for a great, not overly strenuous hike!

Gretchen and Ian were amazing. We stayed at Silo Side on our anniversary as part of the VTXL bikepacking route. The setting is serene and just what you would imagine. The cabin is charming, clean and well provisioned with just what you need and nothing you don't.
Thanks to Gretchen for going the extra mile to help make the anniversary stay special. Highly recommended!

Perfect first stop on my VTXL bikepacking route. The lean-to is completely private and offers wonderful views. Lots and lots of ticks around so bring bug spray/long pants!

Such a wonderful gem on Hipcamp. This A Frame is like something out of a story book, situated in the middle of literally dozens of amazing hikes between Vermont and New Hampshire. Had a very special time with my girlfriend and dog and would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had such a cozy stay at the SiloSide! The cottage is very comfortable and has lovely windows. I love waking up right next to the forest. The campfire is very nice. We used the stove provided and got water from the spout. We had a great stay.

The SiloSide A frame was wonderful! It was a hard to find based on the directions provided but when we eventually found it, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin is full of thoughtful touches and it was nice to get out of the city and stay in nature for a bit.

Gretchen’s property is magnificent: peaceful, verdant, beautiful. The stars are so bright at night. The wildflowers in the breezes took my breath away. The little cabin was simple but wonderful. The eggs from the sweet chickens were gorgeous and delicious. And Gretchen’s kindness but also her respect of our privacy were so appreciated. What a special place. You feel deep love and care for the land right away.
