This was a very scenic and serene location, even though we had a few small challenges with communication prior to arriving. The berries were yummy and it was very easy to find - a great getaway from a day hiking in Camden!

This was a great spot right by Camden State Park! Just a few minutes from a trailhead and very peaceful. The firepit and picnic table were great adds.

We enjoyed our stay on Douglas's land. It worked out perfect for our needs. Alot of space to walk the dog w/out worrying about car traffic.

Great spot near Camden ME.
Very quiet camping location.
We were welcomed by a friendly dog.
There’s a trail off the property that leads to a beautiful lookout view.

Very peaceful stay! We arrived late, and Douglas was available to make sure I was headed in the right direction. We also got to meet Wendell, Doug’s dog, and the sheep!

Less than stellar communication. The road to the house was closed and we couldn’t get in touch with the host. When he finally replied was not particularly helpful with questions. No toilet or shower. Maybe would be a nice spot for an RV but not suitable for tent camping.

This campsite felt peaceful and relatively secluded, nestled right on the water. The screened-in area was a great touch for keeping bugs out while still enjoying the outdoors. It’s a drive-in site, with two other campsites nearby, but it still felt private and quiet. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay in a more tucked-away setting.

My friend and I booked last minute and Douglas was great! Very quick to communicate and accommodate our same day booking! The site was great and the sheep were so cute, it was exactly what we were looking for!

We loved watching the sheep graze and hearing the frogs at night. We appreciated that there were two fire pits, which gave us privacy even with another group there. The dog was very friendly, which wasn’t a problem for us, but could be for others.

This was the first time my daughter and I went camping off of HipCamp app. Douglas' land was lovely with adorable sheep you sometimes have a surprise at surprising haha. The pond had frogs that would lull you to sleep as well. Very quiet and peaceful. 10/10 recommend. It's not too far from the lake or beach !

The site along the pond was very picturesque. There were other campers but noise was not an issue at all!! The host recommended a great hike to an amazing view spot. The animals were fun to see walking around and the fireflies at night were fun to catch!

We pulled in late and got our van stuck on some soft grass, the owners were kind enough to help tow us out the next morning. Seriously a life saver and so nice. Would go again!

So quiet and peace here. We had a restful stay with the added atmosphere a working farm provides. So we woke up to bleating sheep. What a delightful experience!
The location provided a WIDE viewing area for stargazing. Couldn't ask for anything better.
Douglas is particularly responsive - we arrived late and had some confusion locating the farm. He was patient, informative, and easy to work with. 10/10 would stay here again. Thanks, Douglas.

Beautiful space for camping, relaxing, being out in nature or even just getting away from the in-laws while they visit! Can't go wrong with Douglas, who gives you your space and makes you feel right at home on his land. You may run into a couple of other campers at the location but there is so much space it's still easy to have your own ideal spot to camp. Cameras at the ready, random animal sightings are frequent (I saw a beaver) and the sheep are very friendly and very talkative when approached. I slept with my rain cover off the first night so I could see out the top of my tent at the stars and it was amazing!

We loved our stay, were able to explore Maine and visit relatives and come back to incredible peace and quiet. Gorgeous animals, including Wendell the Newfie who got along great with our dog. The sheep are so relaxing to be around! Douglas is a kind and welcoming host who is very accommodating.

This was such a relaxing spot! It was so nice to be close to town while also feeling more immersed in nature. The wildflowers were abundant, the lambs are adorable, and you might even get a surprise visit from a friendly & curious newfoundland ☺️ come here if you are looking for an easy car camping spot.

We camped in the sheep field. Some poop in the grass wet from the dew got on my tent— no big deal. The other site with the fire pit was occupied. Quiet night with bullfrogs in the pond popping.

Beautiful space, very convenient. Friendly host. The sound of the frogs on the pond were charming and hilarious at times. Loved the location!

The camp site proposes by Douglas is really charming. But in this july 2024 the pond at direct proximity of the camp was full of toad or frogs that shouted all night long, we had a very bad night.
