Hold it Flats is a 120 acre property that borders the beautiful O'Connell River that has water all year round. Take a walk around the property to check out some of the creatures that have been built out of scrap metal and bush bars that have been built all around the property. There is nice shady trees, green grass and flat camping sites right beside the river with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is plenty of room and some great tracks for the kids and the big kids to ride their push bikes on. The swimming hole is about 2 meters deep and has big shady trees on the edge. There is also enough room for kids to bring their kayaks and have a paddle along the river. We have some hiking tracks up around the hills of our property that have amazing views of the area. All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken when you, there are no rubbish bins provided.

The area has mowed grass, plenty of trees for shade, ground is nice and flat and is only about 20 meters away from the river.  You can choose your own campsite space and group together. Hot showers, flushing toilets and fire pits are provided. We always keep an area free from campers on the rivers edge (between Riverside sites 2 and 3) so you can take your picnic blanket down and watch the kids swim and enjoy a relaxing drink. Pets on leash are welcomed. Please note that Check-In time is strictly 1.00pm and Check-Out time is strictly 11.00am.

Lovely grassed and flat sites with nice shady trees.  There are 8 flushing toilets and 8 hot showers. Big covered area with BBQ, sink, tables, chairs and a comfy lounge to rest on. It's also a great area for the kids to ride their push bikes around with a few tracks, hills and gullies to test their skills out.  It's only just short walk across the road to the river and we always leave space for people to take their picnic blankets down and sit on the edge of the river. That way you can have a relaxing drink while you watch the kids swim. Generators are allowed but can only be run from 8.00am to 5.00pm. Pets on leash are welcomed. Please note that Check-In time is strictly 1.00pm and Check-Out time is 11.00am.

This area is a kid free zone and separate from the rest of our campgrounds. All guests must be 18 years of age or older. There are nice big shady trees, toilets, showers, camp kitchen and a shallow pool to sit in on hot days. Come and stay to enjoy the peace and quiet around a campfire.

This area can be hired out for private functions such as weddings, birthdays and gatherings. We would like at least 1 month's notice to hire this area out if possible. This area is completely separate from the rest of our camp ground and has nice grass, shady trees, toilets, showers and a camp kitchen. There is also a big wood smoker oven and BBQ that can be used. We have also built a small pool that you can sit and relax in.

Beautiful spot by the river. The facilities are well kept. I stayed in Early November and it was very quiet. Abundant with wildlife.

It was an absolutely beautiful spot. Well maintained, with nice green grass. Amenities are bloody awesome! Great toilets and showers ! Will definitely be back with the kids.

Great amenities nice location, the care take was very rude, snapped because we arrived 20mins early for check in (12:40pm), put us in a spot that had food left everywhere, she didn't know where the power switch was to the camp kitchen. Came to our campsite on 4 different occasions for nothing, making up reasons and excuses just to be nosy really, and this was just in the first 24hrs with us 3 girls there, before the rest of our friends arrived the following night for the rest of the weekend. We watched her round people up before checkout and told them to leave, these people where quiet and respectful so no one has any idea of why that happened. I won't be staying there again unless there's a different caretaker. I've travelled Australia stayed at so many different places but never stayed somewhere like this where you are treat poorly and harassed by the caretaker, she was very rude.

What a great property, just sit and relax by the water, walk around the camp grounds or do the challenging track to the top of the hill. Awesome shower and toilets are on site that are very clean and maintained.

Beautiful place, the campgrounds and ablutions are really well maintained. Unfortunately we were treated quite poorly by the camp host on our departure. The checkout time is 11am. We were almost packed and ready to leave and decided to take a quick dip in the creek to cool off. At 1120 we were rudely told we needed to hurry up and leave. The campground was very quiet all weekend and basically empty at the time we needed to check out. This was the only reason we thought maybe we didn’t need to rush off. But apparently “there are rules and we can’t just do what we like”. She spoke to us in such a way, I actually thought she was joking at first. Honestly I understand that there are rules and if we were spoken to in a nicer manner, I would have apologised, got moving and thought nothing of it. There was no need to get so angry and speak to us in the way that she did. Especially since the whole campground was so empty. We ended up driving out of the gate at 1150am A lovely weekend, but unfortunately we left on a slightly sour note

It was awesome. We were lucky that there were no other campers there on the three days we spent there. Totally relaxing with a great view of the river. The river was refreshing especially on the hot days we were there. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely go back to this spot again.

2nd time here. It’s always pretty busy since it’s become a well known popular spot so probably not the best place if seeking serenity. Creek was low due to no rain for ages but still refreshing for a quick dip while camping in a heatwave. A lot of yahoo’ers partying late across the road in the old 4x4 section with loud music etc but switched off about 10pm so that was ok for us but maybe not for the families with young kids that were trying to get kids to bed early. Definitely a spot to recommend, even though it’s busy, there’s plenty of room and once the rains have come the creek will be back to its glory. Kids had a ball in the creek last time we stayed. Don’t forget to go and explore Cathu if you have time.

It was a very dry time of the year, but can see the potential. Would be great once some rain has greened everything up and put some flow in the creek. Will be back.

Only 2 other vans so plenty of space to enjoy. Beautiful serene view with nice flat areas. Clear instructions. Clean, tidy amenities and nice hot showers. Will definitely be back.
