Description

Archaeologists, geologists, history buffs, and nature-lovers, this is the place for you! Roche a Cri State Park protects a mammoth, 300-foot rock outcropping that towers over the surrounding forest in central Wisconsin. A myriad of petroglyphs dating back to 900 A.D. and pictographs that are hundreds of years old are located on the sides of the rock. A short trail will take you around the rock and to the very top, so be sure to pack your camera. The Roche a Cri Campground is shady and just about picture-perfect. Hang your hammock and reap the benefits of this secluded utopia.

A favorite getaway place. Lots of nature areas surrounding the park as well. Hill and bluff climbs, prairie walks, photo ops, mushrooms spotting in season. The new tower is completed - is you're strong enough to climb it! Don't miss the ancient native stone art carved into the big bluff ( keep your darn grafiti off it)!
