Description

Rustic and scenic, Schoolcraft State Park Campground is a great spot for kayakers and hikers. Head out and explore the old pine forests (trees are more than 300 years old), marshes, rivers, and glacial deposits of the park. You’ll spot evidence of past loggers and the Native Americans who once made this area home. You may also see the current inhabitants—deer and many species of birds.

Schoolcraft is an absolute hidden treasure. While most MN State Park visitors will wear the beaten path on the North Shore, Schoolcraft is tucked "inland" along the Mississippi with great, clean river access, abundant wildlife, trails, and a few particularly beautiful campsites. Must-see for paddlers of all types.
