Pengraig Campsite

1 unit · Motorhome, Tent1 acre · Wales
After a secluded stay on Anglesey? Take a peek at peaceful Pengraig Campsite. Up at the isle’s most north-western point near Church Bay, it’s about as far as you can get from the mainland without actually ditching into the sea. With that far-flung setting comes a stunning sea view – one that can be gazed at for many hours from the comfort of your pitch (a recommended activity around sunset, with drink in one hand and a barbecue stoking implement in the other). See the sea from a different angle on the nearby Anglesey Coast Path or while strolling on the sands of one of the local beaches. The waves aren’t the only gazing material around here – turn your back on the coast for scenic views of Mynydd Y Garn, or bring binoculars for a bit of birdwatching. Once darkness falls, direct your gaze upwards; the lack of light pollution means the stars can often put on a glittering show here. This isn’t a place for folks seeking heaps of facilities and entertainment; the emphasis is very much on peace and nature. Low-key amenities include a drinking water supply, a chemical disposal point and a toilet block (with basins and proper flushing loos). If you want to venture out in search of eats, pub meals and seafood suppers are five minutes’ drive away in Church Bay, and a little supermarket 15 minutes away in Cemaes.

Felin Uchaf Meadow Camping

12 units · Motorhomes, Tents10 acres · Pwllheli, Wales
Private camping fields based within the site of Menter Y Felin Uchaf. Felin Uchaf is host to several traditional and eco buildings, an observatory, a craft shop, farm shop, a regenerative farm and market garden, woodland walks, roundhouse and cabin accommodation, as well as being a hub for storytelling and music evenings, private and public events and gatherings, and weekly volunteering opportunities. We also hope to re-open our garden Cafe once more over the summer months. Guests are welcome to walk around the site. A small oasis nestled within woodland and hedgerows planted up to 20 years ago, providing seclusion and immersion in nature. We are surrounded by beautiful a coastline, quiet beaches (can be busy at the peak of summer - happy to suggest quieter spots!), and hill top hikes. A stay here offers the perfect location to explore all that the Llyn Peninsula has to offer and a chance for plenty of walking, swimming, surfing and exploring for those wanting to be in nature. We are happy to suggest some of the best spots for a day out, as well as local eateries and cafes, and the nearest amenities if needed!

Coastal campsites in Wales guide

Overview

The coast of Wales is nothing if not varied. Rugged sea cliffs, secluded sandy coves, and windswept dunes give way to glorious stretches of golden sand and lively seaside resorts, ideal for family beach holidays—when the Welsh weather behaves itself, at least. Highlights include puffin-spotting along Anglesey Island in spring, coasteering along the shores of Pembrokeshire, and winter surfing along the Llŷn Peninsula, but the ultimate challenge is hiking the epic Wales Coast Path, which follows the entire 870-mile coastline. As for camping, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Holiday parks and caravan parks dot the coast and offer electric hookups and hardstanding sites with full facilities, or you could check into a luxury glamping pod or a cosy bell tent within walking distance of the beach. Alternatively, seek out a quiet coastal campsite or Hipcamp, where you can pitch your tent with an ocean view.
