Come swim, fish, cook and play! PLEASE NOTE, our rate is based on the number of vehicles in your group. The first vehicle is included in the nightly rate and admits 4 campers. WE CHARGE FOR ADDITIONAL CARS. The charge will be added to your booking once you select the number of vehicles at checkout. Please note that each additional car admits four campers. For EXAMPLE, 2 cars = 8 campers total. If you only have two cars but more than eight people, YOU MUST select the "Extra Person" Extra for each night they are camping. Please select these extras at checkout. If you have questions about this PLEASE message me prior to booking. Our 95-acre farm was once owned by the Davis family who predominantly raised dairy cattle. We now raise the wooly Mangalitsa pig and sell to the best chefs and restaurants. We sell our pork at the farm too! All of our campsites are next to running water except the two hilltop sites. Two porta-potties are on the farm and private porta-potties are available for rent. Groups of eight or more are required to rent a porta potty should you not bring your own toilet system with you. We do not allow the use of our small wooded areas as toilets. Please contact us in advance regarding paying for firewood ($7/5 pieces), dogs ($15 each), day vehicle visitors ($30), private farm tour ($15/person) and/or a private porta potty ($120). thank you! We just retired from Active Duty Air Force! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin. When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there. We now raise the wooly Mangalitsa pig and sell to the best chefs and restaurants. We sell our pork at the farm too! All of our campsites are next to running water except the two hilltop sites. Two porta-potties are on the farm and private porta-potties are available for rent. Groups of eight or more are required to rent a porta potty should you not bring your own toilet system with you. We do not allow the use of our small wooded areas as toilets. Please contact us in advance regarding paying for firewood ($7/5 pieces), dogs ($15 each), day vehicle visitors ($30), private farm tour ($15/person) and/or a private porta potty ($120). thank you! Quiet hours are from 10pm to 9am. Checking in before 5 pm is requested. Later times may be available with prior arrangements. Our farm is very dark and navigating at night is difficult. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin. When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there. The rest of the house has complete access. Other things to note Questions I get occasionally from guests: one bedroom is on the main level. Once you get in the house it requires no additional stairs. 3 bedrooms have queen beds, the master has a king and except the lift has a daybed with a pop up trundle., usually it is set as twin beds. Brian has created something so incredibly special here! We stayed at Diamondstone and he has added many special touches- the electric candles, little propane stove, wooden benches and handrails.... He is also INCREDIBLY responsive! We could not figure out how to work the padlock to get into the cabin (note: the numbers must be lined up in the GREEN section of the lock) but he answered right away even though it was 10pm (second note: there is no cell service there so you have to go a ways to find it). The cabin is not insulated and the stove does not put out much heat, so if you're coming in winter make sure you have good cold weather gear. My son set up his tent outside and as we both brought winter gear we had an wonderful, peaceful time reconnecting with nature and each other. Thank you Brian for being a wonderful host and creating such a special place.

Richie was a great host and the shack was cute. The land is just uphill of the host's main house. You don't have to worry about the shared property because he respects your privacy. He said hello to us when we arrived and then we saw him again just before we checked out. It rained each night we stayed here and the shack kept us warm and dry.

I have to say, this was hands-down the best organized, cleanest, easiest, most amenity-laden cabin I’ve ever rented. So many details, from the embroidered robes to the bound book of instructions and recommendations. From the kitchen appointments to the coffee. There are really too many amazing little things to list here, but you could really tell the owners absolutely care about the experience their property provides. And we went panning for gold in the creek below the back deck and even found a little! It was incredibly comfortable and lots of fun. Just make sure you’re ok with stairs and aren’t too large to fit the spiral to the loft. I honestly cannot think of a single improvement to make. Didn’t even matter that it rained so much, because there was plenty left to do inside.

I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful this spot is. The stream, the trees, the quiet. I have camped in almost every state, and this is easily one of my favorite sites. The road in a bit bumpy, but doable. I easily made the trek in a civic. The road is also great for taking a scenic walk. The covered porch was perfect for a rainy afternoon, and the heater was a welcome addition on cool autumn evenings. Close to the stunning Joyce Kilmer Wilderness & Nantahala National Forest. I hope to come back again!

Perfect spot to disconnect and be in a serene place all weekend! PLEASE BEWARE there is a giant active yellow jacket nest right on the bank of the creek at the site. If you have kids or are allergic, just be mindful. Brian was very easy to communicate with. The directions he sends you beforehand are spot on and we had no problem getting there. We did download an “offline map” (iPhone) before we lost service which was great to use on the way out of there. Wasn’t necessary but it was helpful. Even during the day, the cabin is pretty dark so bring extra lighting. Everything was very clean. The wood stove kept it nice and cozy. We will definitely be back!

The porch leads to the back deck with endless wooded and seasonal mountain views. There is a spacious, full bath (with tub) on the main level. Upstairs, you will find a large sleeping loft with a twin daybed, twin trundle bed, and twin pull out chair and sofa. The loft area has a door that can be closed for privacy. There is another bedroom upstairs with a queen-sized bed and full bathroom. This bedroom has french doors that open to a private sun deck overlooking the tranquil woods and mountains. The living area and bedrooms are equipped with Roku Smart TVs to stream all your favorites (Netflix included)! Ceiling fans in every room! Guest access There is a circular, flat, private driveway with plenty of parking in front of the cabin.
