What a little Derbyshire gem: back to basics Whitehouse Farm Campsite is a simple site in a most scenic setting five minutes’ drive from the pretty village of Tideswell. The site’s central location in the Peak District National Park means it’s a top spot for those who want to ramble or ride bikes – several circular trails leave from Tideswell and the traffic-free Monsal Trail is a five-minute drive away. And there’s plenty more activity if you require it too, as activity centres nearby can sort you out days of horse riding, abseiling, climbing and caving. All this activity isn’t mandatory, of course – this is an equally fine location for days pottering off to local pubs, pigging out on pudding in Bakewell or taking a leisurely stroll around the Chatsworth Estate, 20 minutes away. A lovely, small campsite. Very peaceful with great views. The farm cat, dog, ducks, peacocks and chickens were a hit with our kids.

This is how open the non-electric pitches area. Plenty of space, and still only a reletively short walk to the bathrooms at the entrance of the site.

This was our 2nd time at Butt Farm, and it definitely won’t be our last. We love it. The pitches are a great size. When we first arrived our allocated pitch had a tent on it but was quickly resolved, we were given 2 pitches to choose from. There are a few bbq’s which you can borrow free and fire pits for £12 per night including wood, which I think is very reasonable. Plenty of instant hot water for washing up. Fridge and freezers free to use. Nice toilets/showers, again with plenty of instant hot water (and music playing while you shower 😍). Oh and very free range eggs (chickens are loose on the site) for £2 for 6!! Brilliant. It’s only about 40 mins walk into Beverley. There’s really nothing to not like about this site. Would highly recommend. Will definitely return.

Really lovely stay, Michael and Natalie really went above and beyond for our stay. The pods are beautiful I really didn't want to leave! Was just perfect in every way! 100% recommend to anyone who wants a retreat in the middle of nowhere quite and secluded. Absolutely spot on! Thank you! No doubt we will be back at some point again.

A lovely place to stay for camping with the kids, even with the midges :). The toilets were immaculate and plenty of shower rooms. We had a mix up with our pitch (i thought i had booked an electric pitch but it hadn't went through on hipcamp), the owner was brilliant and very accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to book again if we are down that way.

Just spend a couple of nights here and its a little bit idyllic, with countryside views and a beautiful little church as a backdrop. Nights have zero light pollution so lay out under the stars for a while and relax. ( we spotted starlink) On site toilets and showers and washing up station.

I enjoyed my stay at the Red Lion campsite. It's a self-service style campsite as was well organised with gate codes etc. There was plenty of space and options for electric and non-electric, as well as a newly built children's play area. I choose to stay in one of the non-electric grass pitches which extended right back into the site away from the centre hub, and it was lovely and quiet with beautiful views. There are also fire pits to rent as well as a pub onsite directly linked with the campsite. The showers were lovely and hot too!
