We purchased this peaceful secluded 15 acre piece of land, consisting of a 3 acre lake, in early 2015.
Our beautiful Log Cabin (KINGFISHER) was completed in May 2017 and the static homes style lodges, (LAVENDER AND SUNFLOWER) in April 2021.
Kingfisher is a more rustic vibe with log burner and oil filled radiators for heating and Lavender and Sunflower are more modern vibe with gas central heating.
Lavender and Sunflower both have ramp access.
They all have their own personal jetty and veranda to fish from. You can also fish anywhere around the lake as we do not allow day tickets.
Kingfisher has 3 bedrooms, so sleeps 3 singles or 3 couples. The other two have 2 bedrooms, so sleeps just 2 singles or 2 couples.
It is such a peaceful haven. All your troubles just disappear when you arrive. The calming beauty of the lake is inspiring.
We want this to become our very own nature reserve, encouraging nesting of all kinds to mature to full potential. We want you to share on our journey and progress along the way. We don’t look on this as a business, but a ‘home from home’.
It is our secretive safe haven, nestled nicely in-between Boston and Skegness in a peaceful surrounding – there is no traffic apart from the occasional Spitfire or Lancaster flying by! Also, depending on what time of year, the occasional combine harvester or tractor working the surrounding fields.
Please note that our fishing village and cabin site are for adults only, no children or pets are allowed. We may welcome well behaved and experienced fishing people from the age of 15 years upwards. Please ask beforehand.

Rural getaway situated on a trout lake . ( it is not a campsite ) Quiet and secluded where you get privacy and a lovely setting. Nearest villages 2.5 miles away. Swimming in the lake is ONLY permitted during the month of JULY and AUGUST and is at your own risk. NO coarse Fishing allowed. Fly Fishery open 9am til dusk. Guests are to be considerate of anglers at all time. Guests must stay within the proximity of the caravan and their designated area. It is advisable that you bring basic essentials as the nearest shop is 2.5 miles away.
Views of the lake in front and views of a cow field behind. The caravan is fully equipped with microwave, kettle, two top hot plate, mini oven and toaster plates bowls and cutlery. Salt pepper tea and coffee provided but you will need all other basic essentials.
Shower room and seperate toilet. Lounge with tv and DVD player.
Use of barbecue and a fire pit (NO BONFIRES) with an outside seating area. You will need to bring coal and firelighters for the BBQ and wood for fire pit. Also there is a picnic table outside but if you want to sit around the fire pit you may want to bring foldable chairs with you.

We want this to become our very own nature reserve, encouraging nesting of all kinds to mature to full potential. We want you to share on our journey and progress along the way. We don’t look on this as a business, but a ‘home from home’.
It is our secretive safe haven, nestled nicely in-between Boston and Skegness in a peaceful surrounding – there is no traffic apart from the occasional Spitfire or Lancaster flying by! Also, depending on what time of year, the occasional combine harvester or tractor working the surrounding fields.
Please note that our fishing village and cabin site are for adults only, no children or pets are allowed. We may welcome well behaved and experienced fishing people from the age of 15 years upwards. Please ask beforehand.

Rural getaway situated on a trout lake . ( it is not a campsite ) Quiet and secluded where you get privacy and a lovely setting. Nearest villages 2.5 miles away. Swimming in the lake is ONLY permitted during the month of JULY and AUGUST and is at your own risk. NO coarse Fishing allowed. Fly Fishery open 9am til dusk. Guests are to be considerate of anglers at all time. Guests must stay within the proximity of the caravan and their designated area. It is advisable that you bring basic essentials as the nearest shop is 2.5 miles away.
Views of the lake in front and views of a cow field behind. The caravan is fully equipped with microwave, kettle, two top hot plate, mini oven and toaster plates bowls and cutlery. Salt pepper tea and coffee provided but you will need all other basic essentials.
Shower room and seperate toilet. Lounge with tv and DVD player.
Use of barbecue and a fire pit (NO BONFIRES) with an outside seating area. You will need to bring coal and firelighters for the BBQ and wood for fire pit. Also there is a picnic table outside but if you want to sit around the fire pit you may want to bring foldable chairs with you.

3 nights at The Nut Plat Retreat
Such a beautiful spot, we took Ransoms for 3 nights. Everything we needed was ready for us, nice kitchen and a lovely hot tub. The host is very friendly and helpful. Don’t miss out on The Kentish Rifleman’s Pie and a Pint on Tuesdays and walks through Plaxtol, Igtham moat, and the green fields.

The shepherd hut was clean and very comfortable. The location was peaceful and we had some amazing sunsets and rises.
The wood fired hot tub was great as was the wood fire BBQ which was super easy to use and made the food taste great.
We had a fantastic 2 nights and can’t wait to go back.

Lovely place, rustic and very back to nature. My son loved the whole experience! The little river is a winner and him and his friend had the best time on it the boats and paddle boards.
Such a lovely relaxing and peaceful place for us adults aswell!

2 nights at The Nut Plat Retreat
The Nut Plat retreat is great. We had a lovely time at the Bomford. Perfect relaxing break. Duncan is very nice and helpful. Bed is comfortable, shower is hot, there is everything you need. The Rifleman pub is a stones throw from the nuthatch, but unfortunately it was fully booked on Thursday, so it is worth to book a table in advance . Wood fired hot tub is a nice touch. Just have to be patient with it. Follow Duncan's instructions and you will get it very hot in less than two hours. Fire pit and all the trees around are lush. Even though you have neighbours around 100 meters away, it feels very private. Would definitely go back.

We loved camping in the bell tents. The views were amazing. We loved that the sheep and donkey roam around the campsite area. The kids activities were a lovely touch and my son enjoyed taking the goat for a walk. We will be back some day!

Great spot with great walks next to the river! We had a great time and would definitely go back! The pub was also great and allowed us to meet more of the other campers! They also rent out paddle boards and kayaks for trips up the river. However some improvements could be done to the facilities on the camp site. The sink for washing dishes is very low and only has cold water, the sink could also do with a clean. The showers also are quite tight, only have one temperature and make it impossible to not get your hair wet.

This has got to be one of the best campsites ever. The facilities are incredible, surrounded by trees, walkable distance to a brewery, cafe and broad and never too busy even when fully booked. I'm actually hesitant to write this review as I want to keep the secret to myself!

Having the farm animals in the same field as us, and them being as relaxed around us as we were around them, was magical. There are full on working farms and at the other end of the spectrum are children’s petting farms - this is neither, it’s living together naturally. We brought our own tent and were told to pitch up anywhere we liked and can make our own fire to cook in etc, and forage for wood in the forest, back to nature stuff. We collected eggs every morning from the chickens and cooked them on the fire - the children were amazed and adored it.

Thanks so much Morag for another magical stay- second time staying with you but first with our children and it was a great success. A lot has changed since our first stay last year with the addition of a new yurt kitchen complete with all the essentials needed, new zip wire, woodland play area and sandpit. The farm has absolutely everything- beautiful surroundings, camping along the river with ample space for the kids to run and play. We made use of all the facilities, there are boats on site so we took these along the river, the children fed the chickens and collected eggs in the morning, they also thoroughly enjoyed walking the goats and spending time with all the other animals on the farm. So overall a great success and we will without a doubt be booking again very soon so once again huge THANK YOU....keep up the good work :)
