What a little Derbyshire gem: back to basics Whitehouse Farm Campsite is a simple site in a most scenic setting five minutes’ drive from the pretty village of Tideswell. The site’s central location in the Peak District National Park means it’s a top spot for those who want to ramble or ride bikes – several circular trails leave from Tideswell and the traffic-free Monsal Trail is a five-minute drive away. And there’s plenty more activity if you require it too, as activity centres nearby can sort you out days of horse riding, abseiling, climbing and caving. All this activity isn’t mandatory, of course – this is an equally fine location for days pottering off to local pubs, pigging out on pudding in Bakewell or taking a leisurely stroll around the Chatsworth Estate, 20 minutes away. And if even that’s too much, you’d be welcome to spend some time loafing about on site: there’s heaps of space here, and as facilities have been kept quite minimal (just showers and toilets) there should be a good serving of peace and quiet to go with it all. Guests are welcome to light up a barbecue or campfire for cookouts and keeping warm; Tideswell’s the place for supermarket supplies, and it’s also handily got a fish and chip shop and a couple of pubs for days when your firelighting skills aren't up to much.

Well appointed very dog friendly shepherd's hut, and we even survived Storm Dave in it! Hut is set in its own dog-secure orchard adjacent to the chicken run and a barn. Lovely views and sunrises over Clwydian hills. Good shower and cooking facilities. Very comfy bed. Portable heater and log burner. Eggs from the chickens next door are excellent. 10 min drive to town, great value huge dog zoomie field a minute away, plus lots of forest walks in the area. One of the best huts we've stayed in, and expect to return to!

Very well kept ground, very easy to pitch, facilities were very clean even after the 50 DofE campers. The site owners were very friendly and very helpful, fire pits, wood and other things can be bought from the site.

Wasn't sure what to expect to be honest. Last time I camped in a camp site it was just a field with a portaloo. This exceeded expectations in every way. Secure number plate scanning gate on entry, unbelievable facilities (proper toilets, showers, sinks). Water tap available and rentable firepits and purchasable kindling and logs. Honestly proper impressed. Didn't have much interaction with management but what we did have was a pleasure and the pricing of the stay and the wood was fantastic. I absolutely intend on returning and will be highly recommending to everyone I know who is interested. Also, I don't have a clue what it was all about... But 2 days running we saw an INSANELY low plane go by. Looked like a military cargo plane or something. Couple of helicopters too. Free air show? Bargain! Also if you're into animals you'll get your fill. Surrounded by horses, geese and ducks flying over, and a nearby owl hooting and hollering. Loved it.

Weekend Trip to The Peacock Shepherds Hut

Beautifully clean and spacious Shepard's hut, so very well themed with great attention to detail , lovely friendly hosts, loved all the animals and the view and seclusion was amazing. A good distance from the next hut, at least two full fields away, so we felt like we were the only ones there, visited the nearby town of Ruthin, which was historical, pretty and well worth a visit. Came home after two nights relaxed and very happy - very good value for money

Great little camp site. Toilets were clean, showers looked good (didn't use) Staff we're friendly. Looks like they got a cool little club/pub on site popped in for a second but looks comfortable with a TV, draft beer and a dart board. Play park looked good, didn't explore as the field was waterlogged. Had a camp fire, borrowed a fire pit and brought some wood off site. Pleasant experience will be coming back.

We had the most wonderful stay at this gorgeous shepherds hut. Everything about our visit was just perfect. The setting was so peaceful and private and dreamy, such a beautiful little escape to relax and switch off. The hut itself was cosy, spotless, and had everything we could possibly need, you can really tell how much care and thought has gone into it. The hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, which made the whole experience feel even more special. Honestly, there is nothing we would change. We left feeling so happy and refreshed and would absolutely love to come back again. Could not recommend it more 💖

Ste and Emily's yurt was so relaxing for our winter getaway. We absolutely loved the wood burning stove and the hob was just enough for us to cook inside. We also loved that the yurt was located in between the Lakes and the Dales! We were able to get in a hike in on both days we were there! Would highly recommend! Weekend Trip to The Peacock Shepherds Hut

Absolutely delightful place!! We arrived in the pitch black but found it very easily. The hut was beautifully furnished, when we woke this complemented the absolutely breathtaking views on what was a very cold winter morning but the hut was very warm and cosy. I will 100% recommend this stay and will most likely be returning for a longer stay to take in some more of the Welsh countryside.

The hut was lovely and had everything that we need for weekend getaway. The land was so peaceful and there were alpacas nearby. We arrived late a night and took the wrong turn at first but once we got on the right path it was easy to find. Would recommend if you're looking for quiet time off.

Weekend Trip to Bredon-Vale Caravan and Camping

Great location within easy drive of some fantastic sites around Evesham. Despite the weather, we managed a steak barbecue dinner, a log fire and a nice breakfast. Caravan was comfortable and all was in place to make cooking and chilling easy. My first time caravanning and definitely, would do it again.

We stayed at Nancy's (70s’ caravan). The interior was the cosiest I could ever ask for. Minimalist but essential amenities made our stay enjoyable. The camping site offers good views, especially for watching a splendid sunset if the weather is right. Campsite facilities are well-maintained and spotless. Its location is very close to Evesham, making it easy to find shops, pubs, and access roads to other nearby destinations. Don't miss paying Shakespeare a visit if you haven't done so yet 😉

The Peacock Shepherds Hut was amazing. The views are incredible and the hut was really comfortable and well thought out from the lovely Peacock details to underfloor heating. The facilities provided everything I needed to enjoy a peaceful break. Fantastic place to relax and reset listening to birds and enjoying the roaming peacocks and wandering down to see the Alpacas. Carol makes you feel so welcome. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends.

Another wonderful trip to this site. This was our second trip here in a few weeks. It is very handy for Colwyn Bay and Llandudno. The site itself is peaceful, the facilities are well maintained and the hosts are very friendly. We had another couple of fun nights with a campfire roaring and loads of safe space for the kids to run around and play.
