An amazing private, quiet and clean hidden gem. Denika and her family were more than amazing and hospitable. The aspen tent is well equipped and very neat. I’m adding this spot to my favourite list and encouraging everyone to catch a break at this place.

The weekend was wonderful. The glamping tent was beautiful and the bed was cozy warm. The morning breakfast was amazing. We enjoyed sitting around the campfire being visited by a llama! We walked the trails and hugged a tree. Great time. Thankyou you Denika and family.

We loved camping at the Secret Sanctuary! We brought our own glamping and got the breakfast delivered to your site as an add on. Absolutely delicious! The whole experience and vibe of this place is really something special. We were looking for a getaway close to the city that offered privacy (which is hard to find these days) and were not disappointed. We want to bring the whole family next time we come! The hot shower and compost toilets were great, the trails and nearby lakes were awesome for exploring, and Denika and her family were so friendly and helpful. 5 stars! Also make sure to check out the store for amazing salves, delicious teas, and cute pottery!

We absolutely loved the tiny cabin and beautiful property. So well taken care oof and they thought of every detail plus more. Super friendly hosts and so hard working. Loved seeing the chickens come greet you several times a day. Was a wonderful and most relaxing experience. Thank you Denika and family. Will for sure be back.

The Secret Sanctuary was an absolutely amazing place to visit. We were in awe of the land and the accommodations the entire time we were there. Our "tent" was outfitted with beautiful furniture, including lovely flooring and accents. More than I ever could have imagined, even for "glamping". Everything inside and out was clean and organized. The outside shower was next level, what a truly amazing experience. Compost toilets are genius and I LOVED that there was a hand washing station outside of the washrooms. We got lucky enough to have their dogs around a fair amount, and even got to see the Llama. There is a fully outfitted outdoor play area, with forts, and swings, and slides, a sand pit, trampoline, and climbing area. The kids never wanted to leave. Denika even let us play inside with her daughter after checking out her store at the main property. The communication was great, getting add-ons such as firewood and a generator/power pack thing was a breeze. It is clear that this family cares deeply about their property, their guests, and the land. We are very lucky to have had this experience and cannot wait to go back.

Truly Amazing!!

A huge thank you to Denika, Nic and Veona for their incredible hospitality and spirit. We stayed at Aspen glamping site - total magic. Secluded and special - tent was spacious and so comfortable. Add to that yummy breakfast and paddleboarding and you’ve got special memories that will never fade. All the other amenities were close at hand making the experience easy. We added yoga session with Sophia which was so fabulous. Not to mention their two dogs and sweet lama - Bowdie! He’s adorable. Thank you Secret Sanctuary for the lovely experience. We will be back.

it was a wonderful experience! we had a two-day family vacation in the third suite with our own tent, but after we looked around the area and saw what the owners offer, we will definitely come back without a tent ;-) Very spacious, friendly, great trails for walking and everything you need for a wonderful vacation and even more! We highly recommend it!!!

This was our first tent camping experience. We travelled almost 3 hours to this place based on the reviews. Spent 2 nights and 1 day. Loved this place: - Privacy and safety: 5/5 - Cleanliness : 5/5 : Eco toilet is something you have to deal with during the stay. - Host: Super helpful 5/5 - Noice: 3.5/5 - it was generally quiet, but last day there was a party which lasted till 12 AM. I would recommend this place for anyone who prefers a place which is clean, safe, and private❤️

Our family of 5 (kids 8, 6 and 5 years old) had the most amazing glamping experience! The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The entire property was so clean and well-organized, which made for a stress-free stay. What truly made this trip unforgettable was the abundance of kid-friendly activities. Our children absolutely loved feeding the pigs and visiting the chicken pen and the llama. The trampoline and two fantastic play structures kept them entertained for hours, and the ropes courses were a huge hit. There was so much to do that we never heard a single 'I'm bored!' We are already talking about our next visit. We will definitely be back!

Family First Camping Experience 😍

The space is very clean, cozy, comfortable, peaceful. We enjoyed our privacy, the camp is safe & family friendly. It was our first camping experience and Denika was a huge helper, she answered all our questions even sometimes wasn’t really related to our booking. The camp is great choice if you want to experience of being camping but very suitable for families especially if you have little ones. Denika’s family -all- were so welcoming and supportive. Her adorable girls are so sweet and great friends if you’ve little ones 🥰 We loved their quick response to change the compost toilet, refilling the water & ….etc Their Homemade Breakfast is a must try, we couldn’t resist reordering it twice😋 Yoga session was relaxing. We enjoyed the sandy beaches at Pigeon lake, Ma-Mo lake, hiking and we rent a water paddle. The Nature Shower was our daily treat after barbecuing and playing. Everything is near by and accessible (15 mins) grocery, clothing, gas station, …. so don’t overpack. Thank you again for having us, we’re grateful for your effort and support and will definitely coming back soon!

My daughter and I did a girl’s trip here at Secret Sanctuary and it didn’t disappoint. My daughter loved all the animals, especially the llama. I loved the tranquility and beauty around us. We enjoyed little jaunts to Twin Lakes, Village at Pigeon Lake, and went for pedicures by someone recommended by Denika. Had a great time!

First time won't be the last !

It was more than I expected. The tiny cabin was honestly better than the photos. I loved being able to feed the animals. The breakfast was amazing, so much food and a variety and homemade goodies jams and bread etc!. The pottery aroma therapy etc. this is somewhere my group and I will be back to. I also plan to bring my family for a separate little camping trip. The site are great weather your looking at glamping tents the tiny cabin or just tent/camping spots. The outdoor shower looked amazing although we didn't get to try it. There is an entire kid friendly area which my 9yr old loved! The family is more than you could ask for for hosts. They have composting toilets, there are 3 beaches very close by within a 5-13 min drive. Can't wait to go back to experience more fun with friends and family, and honestly maybe even just drop in for the items they sell at the market. I'm in love with my roll on perfume. Next time I definitely want to book massage, so many options and different things to do. All I can say is you gotta go at least once. You won't regret it.

A ‘Must’ Visit

We absolutely loved it. The Birch Glamping tent was our home this past weekend. Truly glamping, the tent was had all the comforts of home, very clean and the bed and futon were very comfortable. Denika and her family are so friendly and welcoming you felt right at ease immediately. This is such a beautiful, quiet and peaceful escape you will want to book your next stay there, I know I will be.

I really I liked it there. The Lama roaming around was really cool. I was hoping they would visit our site, hopefully next time. We really enjoyed meeting the dogs as well. The chain saw sound was not great during the day. That was the only draw back. I would go again!

A Hidden Gem!

The Secret Sanctuary could not describe this beautiful property any better. Hidden down a road just 10 km from the west side of Pigeon Lake, we found an amazing spot to spend a night while doing some motorcycle camping. The host were so great to deal with and very quick to correspond......even though our booking was after 6 pm pn a friday and very last minute. The sites are immacualtely kept, the scenery is stunning...... and ammentities great. Newly built and well kept outhouses with hand sanitizer and even lavendar flowers. Running water with stainless steel sinks and a dish cleaning area. Even dish soap to help with the cleaning. The details we noticed were in the small things. Such as cardboard and paper included with our pre-paid firewood all waiting for us on our site for arrival. We were thoroughly impressed and plan on making this a regular stop on our travels. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a spot to spend a night or many nights in Central Alberta. Thank you again for your hospitality and beautilful space to enjoy.

This is our third camping trip at this magical camping ground. between the amazing surrounding nature, peaceful atmosphere, and family friendly staff " secrete sanctuary" truly has it all! the owners went far and beyond to make us feel welcome and tended to our every need. we cherished our experience at the secrete sanctuary and would return as soon as possible.

We loved loved our stay. Such nice people and the tent is amazing. We went in May and at 5 degrees at night it was pretty cold. So we recommend heaters if you’re not carrying it. But other than that if was fantastic.

Hidden gem

What a great experience. Beautiful spred, everything you need. Everything was clean and everything had the feeling of just going the extra mile. It was like having a nice clean hotel room on an acreage. Couple friendly dogs to pet, heated outdoor shower. We will definetly be back. Hidden gem
