The nearest stable internet is a 10 minute drive to the Town of Hinton at the Tourist Information Centre located at 309 Gregg Avenue. We are not located in Jasper, we are a 60km drive from the Town of Jasper. Hinton is 18km and is the nearest town to us.

Quiet, majestic back to nature spot! This is a place to get away from a busy life. With close proximity to Winchell Lake, this land is ideal for fishing, hiking or simply enjoying the breathtaking scenery. We have 4 campsites available for tent or RV/trailer campers. If you're bringing an RV, we have two power outlets and water available. You will be parking on a field and the site requires levelling. Electricity and firewood are both available for purchase (see extras below). Please add this to your reservation at the time of booking. Campfires are permitted, pets are welcome. Potable water, picnic table, and outhouse are all available. We have cows, goats, chickens, horses and dogs and cats on the property that generally love people. :) I have only one dog and typically allow dogs to run off leash. We do have to be careful that it doesn't turn to a dog gang as this happened once and they took down one of my goats. The goats Hon and Chewy are okay but it took months for poor Hon to heal. I also worry about the chickens and the cats so please keep and eye on your dogs! Lots of treed areas for private camping, horseback riding hiking and walking! Bird watching is big around here as we are on a bird migratory path. We are just above Winchell Lake and less than 10 km from Water Valley Golf Course and Saloon. Please recognize that you are visiting a Ranch not a campsite. We are sharing our piece of heaven with you and you are helping to support our animals and their heaven. Chickens are "True" Free Range and hand fed every morning. Eggs are $10 a dozen to pay for their feed. :) Every spring the rain tends to cause ruts and washes out some of the road on the way to the back forty where the meadow is. We gather rocks on the property to fill the ditches but the early part of the year the roads can be bumpy. Please ask the conditions of the road when you book if you have concerns. Thanks!

Collin’s Wood is a very special place indeed. The land was bought by my grandfather years ago when he moved to Canada from England and wanted to chase his log cabin dream. Our main cabin my family built from trees on the land, entirely by hand. We have photos of the trees being cut and the bark being peeled off. Since then, we’ve made many changes out there, we now have a guest cabin that used to be a Teacheridge (back when teachers would live in a one room building beside the school), eventually it was turned into a cafe and now it sits on our land as a guest cabin. This place is so magical. With a quarter section of land I grew up running through the forest with my friends and learning about what the land has to offer. My parents have spent every spare weekend out there making this paradise into what it is today. All the buildings were created by my family through labour and love. We’ve hosted weddings, and family reunions. We hope you appreciate how special this place is. Come see for yourself!

Powwows can be enjoyed in July on the Piikani Nation and on the Blood Tribe/ Kainai Nation. All are welcomed to attend. This wonderful weekend of culture, food and rodeo is amazing.

Weekend Trip to Blue Rein Ranch

Stayed at the cabin. Quite enjoyable, bathrooms only maybe a 1-2 minute walk from the door, so not bad at all. Host was welcoming and super friendly, but only half as much as the dogs, haha. Only tip is as its a loft bed, you use a ladder with slightly smaller rungs than anticipated- so if youve got ladder/height anxieties, you may be better off sleeping on the fold out couch below.

We had the best stay here. Dale was an amazing host who always made sure we had everything and even offered to help plow us out if we got stuck on our way out. Her ranch is beautiful, with great walking trails through the trees. I’m excited to camp here come summer and spring time, what a beautiful place. Her dogs, cats, and horses make everyone feel welcome!

2 nights at Vacation rentals in Bragg Creek

The rustic cozy cabin was definitely rustic and cozy! Yet it was fully equipped with Wi-Fi, TV, a VHS player, lots of movies, a record player, and Netflix. It was peaceful, warm and the surrounding land was beautiful. I even saw three deer walking by. We also loved the hot tub at night! Being cozy/small, it was a little hard to move around with my partner and two dogs. And yes, there's a beautiful bathroom available, but you have to walk outside to get to it. Not too bad except I have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night every night. I would have brought our portable toilet with us if I had realized how everything was situated. All in all, Anna and her husband were great and responsive, and we truly enjoyed ourselves! Thank you!

Weekend Trip to Nature Alive Adventures and Camping

It was the perfect little getaway. Charming and clean cabin, all warm and toasty upon our arrival and throughout. The grounds had various paths to walk along and explore and the hot tub and fire pit rounded out the stay with relaxation and comfort. Loved it and will be back again!

Gives a vive that you are actually in a jungle inside of a tree house. There is a bus turned into a cabin, which will remind you of the movie “into the wild”. Great experience overall.

Weekend Trip to Collinswood Retreat

Staying in Poppy was a very pleasant experience! We arrived late, in the dark. We were struggling to find our spot (albeit, I did not look at the instructions carefully). Pat came to find us at the entrance, and helped escort us to our stay. They also provided some extra water (due to the water line being shut off because of cold temps) a heater and some heating bottles to keep us warm. The location is very beautiful, with some cool amenities available throughout the grounds. All in all, Geri & Pat are very welcoming, thoughtful and we would love to rent out the whole grounds in the future! Thanks again!

1 night at Nature Alive Adventures and Camping

Our stay at this cabin was absolutely wonderful! 😍The place felt so cozy and welcoming — everything was spotless and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell how much love and care went into every little detail.🥹😍 The nature around is stunning, and we truly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The host was incredibly kind and made us feel right at home. We were especially touched by the little treats — the marshmallows and cookies were such a sweet surprise (and so delicious!). Thank you also for the oatmeal — it made our morning breakfast perfect.🫣 My husband and I had the most relaxing and happy time here. We’ll definitely come back again!😊

Loved poppy bus, had a great experience living in here as it is my dream to eventually do this. Enjoyed how there was so many hiking trails everywhere. We spent an hour or more looking and exploring. The whole place here is so much to take in. I especially loved interacting with the friendly horses. I plan to bring my extended family next spring.

Weekend Trip to Blue Rein Ranch

We loved our stay at Blue Rein! Had lots of space to ourselves and it was very peaceful aside from the occasional moos or neighs from the nearby animals. This is the perfect place if you’re an animal lover as you’ll be greeted by dogs, cows, horses, pigs, and chickens. There’s also a great communal building with washrooms, a kitchen sink , and some fun things like a speaker and pool table. Would absolutely stay here again!

We really enjoyed camping here for our friends 30th! The bus was really awesome and a great theme for a little weekend getaway. The property is fun to explore with many nice little trails to walk down, and the view of the stars at night was fantastic on a clear night. Thanks Pat & Geri for a great weekend!
