Your fee includes free access to 120 acres of forest, excellent wildlife viewing and unlimited deadfall to use as firewood, if you don't mind some manual labour.
My kids cut and split firewood if you would like some waiting at your site when you arrive. We have seasoned and split bundles for $10 and you can pre-purchase them when you complete your checkout.

Our 160-acre regenerative agriculture family farm came to be in May of 2021. After previously homesteading on a humble 1-acre property our family had dreams of owning more land where we could establish a farm to call home for many years to come and farm in ways that would be sustainable for generations to follow.
Upon first look, the heart and soul that the original owners poured into this property shone like the sun glaring on the water of the river. We knew this was the perfect place to call home for our growing family, and a place so beautiful we could not wait to share it with others.

Collin’s Wood is a very special place indeed. The land was bought by my grandfather years ago when he moved to Canada from England and wanted to chase his log cabin dream. Our main cabin my family built from trees on the land, entirely by hand. We have photos of the trees being cut and the bark being peeled off. Since then, we’ve made many changes out there, we now have a guest cabin that used to be a Teacheridge (back when teachers would live in a one room building beside the school), eventually it was turned into a cafe and now it sits on our land as a guest cabin. This place is so magical. With a quarter section of land I grew up running through the forest with my friends and learning about what the land has to offer. My parents have spent every spare weekend out there making this paradise into what it is today. All the buildings were created by my family through labour and love. This one-bedroom private cabin is tucked away in a lush, green setting. Wake up to the sounds of birdsong and the horses neighing in the fields. Help yourself to Saskatoon berries, rhubarb, or apples when they're in season. Fresh-laid eggs will soon be available upon request.
We're just a few minutes from town and easy to find. Google Maps can be a bit confusing, as it lists the wrong postal code and town. Don't worry—the map pin will guide you to the right place.
We have two driveways separated by a white fence. Please use the second driveway, drive past the shop, and you'll see a building on the right. Feel free to pull up to the little porch—we aren't protective of the grass! The green door is your entrance. We'll leave the door unlocked on check-in days, and you'll find the key inside.

We have 156 acres of incredible farm land for you to enjoy.
The parking pad is right across from the house, to the left of the driveway. Back in or drive in, there's lots of room to do either. You are welcome to enjoy a campfire, we have lots of wood available. Let us know if you need the picnic table, sometimes we have it up by the house.
Once you are settled in, take your time to walk around. You can birdwatch from your campsite, the feeders by the house are a busy bird haven.
Walk to the gate and check out the pond and the grazing horses. Ask how to be safe as you walk in the pasture. Pet them if they agree to it, or walk down the trail into the forest. There are many trails to follow down there. You are welcome to use the firepit and picnic area in the bottom. Listen for the birds, we have many different sparrows, warblers and other birds that don't stop singing. If you are lucky, you might see some deer or great horned owls.
The yard is open to the big sky. Watch storms come and go, see the stars and some nights you might see the northern lights. Bring your bug spray, the mosquitoes can be aggressive. Listen to the frogs, the coyotes and other country sounds.
We have fresh eggs every day from our chickens and fresh veggies in season from our garden.

Our two-seater outhouse was upgraded last year for wheelchair accessibility, and we recently added a new three-seater outhouse to the yard. We love hosting group camps! To support your event, we provide a bandstand, PA system, a dozen picnic tables, and additional tables and chairs.

What a beautiful relaxing spot!! The Happy Hut was the perfect size for me as a solo traveler and the bed was super comfortable. The outdoor bath was amazing, it took a while to fill to a comfortable level but that’s expected! Bathing in nature is a must! The bathroom was close by and very welcoming for an outdoor bathroom. No harsh smells and very clean.
The Happy Hut wasn’t as private as I thought however this actually worked out for me in the end, as a solo female traveler it was comforting to know I wasn’t completely isolated in the woods! Very much enjoyed my relaxed evening sitting by a fire and soaking up nature.

Weekend Trip to Collinswood Retreat
My experience at the yurt was exceptional. It was the perfect blend of camping and amenities. The barbecue, utensils, provided firewood (and axe), along with the roominess of the Yurt made for a carefree comfortable. The yurt is in a secluded clearing in the wood so you feel like there is nobody else around yet the area has a lot of trails in case you need to walk somewhere. The hosts were very friendly and I would definitely recommend this rental.

We absolutely loved camping here. Pat and Geri were so lovely and welcoming. On our first night we booked another weekend coming up. It’s our new favourite spot.
We spent a lot of time walking some of the trails and taking in nature.
They were also kind enough to lend us a hand when our car didn’t start as we were leaving. 10/10!

4 nights at Collinswood Retreat
This was the best possible place to spend a rainy long weekend with my dogs! Spent hours wandering the trails right there on the property and retreated back to the cozy cabin when the rain picked up. Loved sitting under the covered deck with a book and seeing the sunrise over the river valley, and the outdoor shower had an excellent view (and hot water). Made good use of the sauna and THOROUGHLY enjoyed my massage (do it, trust me!). The cabin was adorable, bed was very comfortable, and the blackout curtains meant I was able to sleep in past sunrise.

Weekend Trip to Collinswood Retreat
This is my second time staying at Collinswood, and a second glowing review of their property. The forest yurt is incredibly beautiful and well themed, and the feeling of seclusion is a lot of fun! It’s like the outside world is a completely separate planet. Geri and Pat put in a ton of work to make this place a wonderful time and it shows in every little bit of their sites, from the inclusion of board games to the cute themed slippers in the yurt. I’m already thinking about my next visit, and we just got home! If you’re looking for a fun weekend out under the stars for you and a few others, I don’t think there’s a better place to stay than here.

If you are looking for a perfect nature getaway, I highly recommend booking a stay here! My boyfriend and I stayed at Site 2 (Tall Tree) and had a very good time. The site itself is very spacious with plenty of room to relax under the trees, and the location is unbeatable with the lake being only a short two-minute walk away. Gordon was a wonderful host! Super helpful, welcoming, and quick to respond to messages. We had a wonderful, relaxing trip and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to unwind!

Had a great stay at Collinswood Retreat this past weekend. The campsite was clean, quiet, and well looked after. We were camping with our family and had a really enjoyable time. Even with some less-than-perfect weather, the grounds stayed in good shape and we were still able to make the most of our trip.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and everything was easy from check-in to departure. It was nice to find a campground that felt relaxed, family-friendly, and not overcrowded.
The kids had a blast, and it was a great chance for us to unplug, spend time outdoors, and enjoy a few days away from the usual routine. We'd definitely come back again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful camping getaway.
