This was one of the original homesteads in the Margarees. There was an old sawmill on site which was used to build the house and barn. It was sold to a man who started renovations for a summer house but ended up listing it for sale. I purchased it and completely renovated the 100-year-old house. Shortly after, my brother and I started an outfitting company with no plan of building a campground, but in 2017 we saw a great opportunity for building something unique. We wanted to keep a backwoods camping feel, but yet create it around a hostel-inspired environment. We launched June 1, 2018 and are in full swing now. Adventure awaits at this eco-camping hostel offering a natural setting, overlooking a picturesque valley. It's super quiet and the only sound is the wind and the very occasional car (like one a day). Five minute walk to the ocean. 15 kms to the nearest store. I'm located at the end of Richard's Pond Lane. To get here, go to South Side Road, South Side River Bourgeois. Turn right on Richard's Pond Lane and follow it to the end. This property is located on River Inhabitants which is a tidal river going in and out from the North Atlantic 2x a day. Located near the village of Cleveland and off Evanston Road. (Not sure why HC states it is near Antigonish?) Great fishing and kayaking but be mindful of the tides. Cell phone reception is sketchy. No wifi available. Located nearby is a ranger tower to view the area and the stars above. Best to get all your supplies in Port Hawkesbury if u are just arriving on Cape Breton. Strait Richmond Hospital. is 10 min. away if needed. Please be mindful of our garden and young fruit trees. Please pack out all of you garbage as we do not have local garbage pickup... garbage can be disposed of in local towns. The town of Louisdale offers free potable water and dump station (located next to Babins Yamaha). The site is located near Cleveland NS. But unfortunately a snow plow knocked down the street sign a few years ago an despite complaints to Richmond County no sign has been replaced :( You will turn off Hwy 4 at east at Evanston Rd. then turn south at Johnathan R Bouman Rd. which will be approx 2-3 kms down Evanston Rd. which is the 1st road you will come to. The site is the last driveway on the right. A rope is strung across the driveway, please unhook and rehook when you depart.... Enjoy your stay :)

Nicely treed with grassy clearings, this waterfront property has a pebble beach, with stunning views down the Great Bras D'Or Channel. At the beach, there’s swimming and fishing, shell searching, rock-skipping. Walk 100m down the beach to the Ross Ferry Marine Park where you’ll find shaded walking-trails, an outdoor fitness gym, and a jungle-gym with a slide for kids. Anyone who feels bold enough can jump off the wharf! There is also a boat launch that can be used (for a small donation to the Ross Ferry Marine Park. Guests of all campsites will have communal access to a small cabin close to the road in SUMMER TIMES ONLY. The interior of the cabin and the water are shut down in September. The cabin has power and water (AC cord can be run from the exterior outlet, and a hose can be attached to the exterior tap). Guests are free to use the small basic kitchen, bathroom, large deck and small living room, but the cabin is not for sleeping. Great little spot in the middle of Cape Breton. There’s a cute little river out in the back of the property and the cabin itself was welcoming and had all the amenities. Sad we didn’t have time to try some of the hen eggs! Would definitely come back if I was heading that way again. If you’re a bug-phobe, make sure you’re prepared for black and deer flies! We’re fine with insects and it’s to be expected in the middle of the woods but fair warning if you’re not used to them. :) Our dogs loved it, too. Great spot if you’re travelling with pups.

We enjoyed our time at Live Life in Tents - staying for 6 nights. Great location for fishing the Margaree - close to a number of pools. Close to grocery store. 4 glamping tens and a ‘A’ frame structure for those without their own tents. Lee and his Team were friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. Glad we brought a screen tent along as there were some black flies, horseflies and mosquitoes. I am sure I will be back there on another fishing trip.

On a adoré le camping, super bien aménagé avec vue magnifique sur l’eau. Fire pit disponible avec bois achetable. Des beaux chevaux et pleins de chiens super mignons visible et une hôtesse très disponible par message. J’y retournerai volontiers

Very private locaation and the horses were real charmers. Be aware of the wire fence that is part of the view. It's unfortunate, but absolutely necessary as the sites are right at the edge of a cliff above the shore. The privy's roof leaked in the rain, but it just added to the charm.

Beautiful property, very private and right next to the ocean. There is different sections of the camp (one with a picnic table, another with chairs and a fireplace, a hammock area, and a plot for the tent) all connected by nicely kept short walking paths. The outhouse was very well kept and nicely decorated. Walked around to look at all the animals and particularly loved the goats. Woke up in the morning to horses grazing just by our tent site which was a beautiful surprise. Would highly recommend this spot, my favorite campsite I’ve ever stayed in!
